Cute and quiet hotel, hidden away from the hustle and bustle in the old Town. Well appointed hotel with good breakfast option.

We underestimated the location. Hidden away in the hilly old part of town. Not really the hotels fault. Just a bit challenging to get back to when you are exhausted from being out all day and not the most convenient. Central AC was not working at the time due to seasonality. It was toasty in the room and sleeping with windows open introduces more noise than desired. They didn't have any fan functions or air circulating options to cope.

We had greatly enjoyed a previous stay at this hotel and were keen to repeat the experience on a second visit to Lisbon. Although branding had changed everything else was as we remembered - room and breakfast were superb, location perfect, staff charming. Kitchen was no longer open for dinner but that was no loss as our meal there on previous stay had been disappointing and there is a lovely local restaurant immediately adjacent to the hotel (and several others within 100 metres).

The price we paid this time was simply ludicrous, verging on extortionate. This was apparently on the pretext of a European football event taking place that week in Lisbon, in which we had no interest. We would never stay again at that price. Even the regular (no football!) price is pretty steep considering the very limited facilities offered by what is a very small hotel..

Room was really clean and comfortable, personnel was very nice and helpful, breakfast tasty with variety of products including warm meals. Almafa is lovely, however if you have mobility issues that is definitely not the right place for you. Very comfortable bed.

Room had slightly wet smell, windows were tiny and it was not possible to properly air the room. Personnel didn't have full knowledge regarding transportation in Lisbon. Loads of stairs leading to the hotel from any other part of the city - wasn't a problem for us but might be for someone with limited mobility.

Fantastic hotel, tucked out of the way in the heart of the Alfama district of Lisbon. Incredibly warm, friendly reception and brilliant staff who routinely went out of their way to make sure guests were OK - and all with excellent first-hand knowledge of the city. In particular, their restaurant recommendations are brilliant! Breakfast is also superb - the cooked options especially!

In short, nothing! The only downside of this hotel is that there isn't really any 'outdoor' space - no bar, no terrace, etc., and the rooms themselves don't have balconies. This didn't bother me at all (I knew before I arrived), and I was more than happy to explore the bars around Alfama. But might be a useful heads-up for somebody!

We were traveling celebrating our 20 year anniversary in Lisbon. We spent 5 wonderful days here. The cleanliness of the hotel is noteworthy and by being a small property they are able to ensure personalized attention to each guest. Fizz and Samantha's attentiveness in serving a delicious breakfast every morning, Pedro and Alfonso guiding us to restaurants, and shopping areas, as well in assisting us with making last minute reservations to some great restaurants made our stay truly special. The Alfama location was perfect despite bustling crowds. The staff were delightful and helpful, contributing to our overall enjoyment. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us when checking out very early (4am) for an early flight that they even had a breakfast box waiting to take with us, which was beyond thoughtful. We highly recommend booking this hotel. It's truly worth it, and we would love to return. A big thank you to all the staff for making our anniversary trip so memorable. - A & C

1. Reception & breakfast room staff are excellent. Very service oriented and helpful. 2. Breakfast was sumptuous. 3. Hotel upkeep is great. 4. The pickup from the airport was great! 5. The recommendation of Amadeus Tours was great. The driver Alex was excellent and worth every penny we spent to visit Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascias. 6. Though we didn’t eat at the restaurant across from the hotel, it was filled both nights for dinner which makes us think it is a great place to dine. Overall an excellent 2 night stay at the hotel.

1. Rooms are considerably small. The wall between the bedroom and the entrance make it feel smaller. 2. Whoever cleans the room doesn’t clean it well. 3. Location without PIN preventing Ubers coming to the entrance would have been better.

What stood out the most was how welcoming and friendly the staff was. I had asked one of the staff members a question about the train from Lisbon to Porto and then a connecting train to Douro Valley. They were able to sit down with me and provide me with a range of options on how I could get to my intended target. They even offered to call the train company to get further clarification on a question (although I didn't take up that offer.) Their service truly goes above and beyond. My girlfriend and I truly fell in love with the location as well. The streets of Alfama are so beautiful and fun to walk. It's also a perfect blend of having options in the evening (food, fado, gelato, wine) without getting rowdy like some of the other popular neighborhoods, such as Bairro Alto. Noise was never an issue at this location. Our room wasn't the largest, but it was still comfortable, had everything we needed and was extremely clean. Our favorite touch was a welcome cocktail provided on the first day. They give you the basic ingredients and instructions and you're able to craft the drink on your own - it was incredibly tasty. The breakfast spread includes a mix of pastries, breads, meats, cheeses and fruits. If you wanted something larger, there was a menu for omelettes, french toast and others as well. Everything we had tasted fresh and delicious. We spent 5 nights at this location and felt like we were able to get the perfect Lisbon experience from here.

Nothing comes to mind

The location of this boutique property is perfectly positioned. It was away from most of the hustle and bustle of Lisbon, yet close to walk to everything. The property itself has spacious spotlessly clean rooms, comfortable beds, and lots of natural light with opening windows. The daily breakfast was also a big plus. In addition to your standard cold buffet, they offered hot items from the kitchen as well coffee and tea. The real treat of this property is its staff. We were met with a glass of sparkling wine and given a personal tour of the property including all the amenities of our room. We arrived as guests, and left as family thanks to Rui, Pedro, and Alfonso. I think you would be hard pressed to find any hotel with the level of service that we received from the staff.

We regret that we did not spend more time in the local area surrounding the hotel. Every street around the hotel is an adventure.

This is an amazing small hotel in the heart of Alfama district with all its narrow streets and steep hills. The staff was very helpful with easy checkin early and storage of bags. She guided us to a nice place for lunch. The rooms…very cozy and practically soundproof with lovely windows overlooking an inner courtyard. Breakfast is absolutely the best we had in Portugal and Spain…a wonderful hit and cold spread. Highly recommend.

If you want a highly sanitized Lisbon experience…easy to get to…dont come here but this is the beautiful old heart of Lisbon.

Breakfast was exceptional. Main dish for your choice + all regular stuff. All stuff people were super nice. The location can be a plus or a minus. It's in a cool different vibe of neighborhood, but getting there involves a bunch of stairs.

I didn't like the bathroom. It was open to the rest of the room, which isn't really nice if you are staying with a friend. I did look at the pictures before and didn't see it. Should be written in my opinion.
