I loved how clean this place was! The photos absolutely do not do this place justice. The furnishings are modern and well thought out. Additionally, the windows were light and airy and everything was very clean and new. People complain about ubers not being able to access the street that Tandem is on, but the walk is very short from the street entrance and also taxis can enter the road. The toilet got clogged at one point and they had sent someone to fix it within the hour.

Nothing. I mean it, seriously, the wifi worked great, the staff were very welcoming, the apartments were very spacious. I will note that it is certainly an apartment hotel so don't book expecting it to be like a courtyard Marriott or something (I saw previous reviews complaining about that).

Would have hoped for the gym to be more equipped. Missing a weight rack at the least. Would have loved to have a housekeeping service at least once during 7 day stay

Amazing, huge apartment complex and rooms (not at all what we were expecting from the outside as the street are so small and close together). The apartment was modern and the beds were king sized in all rooms. The most amazing bit was the back doors to all the apartment which led out to the most beautiful rooftop garden and pool area overlooking the Pantheon. A tranquil spot to have a glass of wine with an amazing view!

Very small thing but there was no washing up detergent or dishwashing tablets for dishwasher or tea towels so it was difficult to wash up. Would be good to have these available in the apartment rather than having to buy our own for 1 night stay (couldn’t take them with us as we were flying out the next morning).

The staff (Fábio) was very friendly and helpful, providing us with great tips. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The best part was how quiet it was despite being centrally located. The washer/dryer combo was great since we only received two hand towels and four bath towels for seven nights. I will recommend this accommodation to my friends, but I will mention the few negative aspects of the place as follows:

It's a bit of a gamble which apartment you get. Our sofa had an unsightly large stain, and the bathroom flooded with water after taking a shower.

We stayed for 4 nights, 3 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 14. We probably got the best apartment available. We had a large terrace with a stunning view over the rooftops to the sea. On the other side, we could see the National Pantheon. The apartment was beautiful. The location was overall excellent, right in the middle of the old town, yet quiet and peaceful. The surroundings of the apartment were well thought out and truly beautiful; the garden was well-maintained with flowers and lemon trees. Likewise, the pool area was fantastic, never crowded. The facilities were excellent overall. The service was also very friendly and efficient, although there wasn't someone at reception 24/7. Responses to inquiries were prompt, and the door code worked flawlessly. Requests (like for additional towels) were also handled quickly.

A major downside and surprise was the cleanliness and general maintenance of the apartment. The terrace was unusually dirty upon arrival, and there were leftover items in the cabinets from previous guests. The furniture was stylish and seemed high-quality, but there were many old stains, for example on the sofa fabric. Overall, it felt like the apartment wasn't sufficiently maintained; the bathroom cabinet doors were hanging loose and wouldn't close properly. The shower head was broken and didn't work well, and there weren't enough towels. These were small issues that could have been easily addressed and significantly affected the overall impression, which might not be acceptable for an apartment at this price point.

I had booked a car service from the airport which was excellent UNTIL we arrived at our road for the Palacio. The car was not allowed down the road because of a restrictive bollard that stops cars from entering. We had many cases and with the great help of the driver we had to carry our cases down the street- and we are not that young !! It’s the same problem with the car taking us back to the airport.

Absolutely spectacular stay! Our room (top floor) was a grand apartment! The staff Luis and Fabio made us feel so welcome the moment we walked in the door. They made great recommendations and we thoroughly enjoyed Lisbon thanks to their suggestions. The hotel is perfectly appointed and the finishes are top notch. The large garden and pool area were a very charming escape from the busy-ness of the city. Staying in the Alfama district was IDEAL as we were a quick walk to the train station (5 minutes), the main square (15 minutes) and dozens and dozens of shops, restaurants and cafes. We had a washer in our unit, which was a treat as we'd been traveling for many weeks prior to our arrival and it was nice to not have to go to a laundromat. We feel so lucky that we found the Tandem Palacio Alfama and can't wait to return! Thank you! Obrigado for the PERFECT stay!

It was perfect, nothing we didn't like.

They gave me an apartment with the Best View in town! Very grateful for that ! There was so much space in the apartment, that I didn’t know what to do with it :)

All the comments I read from other guests were applicable - it is a climb up hill without luggage … with luggage it’s impossible. It is not well maintained (the back of the couch was loose ….?!) and some simple things missing like a second nightstand (why do you put only one?!) and kitchen cloth … I am glad I didn’t pay the full price for my stay because if I had, I would have given the place a 5.

An excellent & quiet location where we find a lot of restaurants and bars. I like the atmosphere of the building & the neighbourhood. Everything was clean and comfortable.

The toilet kept a water dripping the whole night which disturbed my daughter's sleep who slept next to the bathroom. It would have been better to have those fixed properly. The online check-out did not work and I had to call the number for the check-out as the reception opens only at 10am.

This accomodation is just beautiful. We weren’t sure about the location as we hadn’t visited Lisbon before but it was in a perfect spot. The view from our terrace was stunning and the gardens and pool were lovely. Luis was very helpful and kind to us. We would definitely stay here again.

Maybe some housekeeping would have been good. We don’t need our beds made etc but it would have been slightly better if our rubbish was removed. The suite was so lovely that it didn’t diminish our experience though.
