Cute and quiet hotel, hidden away from the hustle and bustle in the old Town. Well appointed hotel with good breakfast option.

We underestimated the location. Hidden away in the hilly old part of town. Not really the hotels fault. Just a bit challenging to get back to when you are exhausted from being out all day and not the most convenient. Central AC was not working at the time due to seasonality. It was toasty in the room and sleeping with windows open introduces more noise than desired. They didn't have any fan functions or air circulating options to cope.

We were traveling celebrating our 20 year anniversary in Lisbon. We spent 5 wonderful days here. The cleanliness of the hotel is noteworthy and by being a small property they are able to ensure personalized attention to each guest. Fizz and Samantha's attentiveness in serving a delicious breakfast every morning, Pedro and Alfonso guiding us to restaurants, and shopping areas, as well in assisting us with making last minute reservations to some great restaurants made our stay truly special. The Alfama location was perfect despite bustling crowds. The staff were delightful and helpful, contributing to our overall enjoyment. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us when checking out very early (4am) for an early flight that they even had a breakfast box waiting to take with us, which was beyond thoughtful. We highly recommend booking this hotel. It's truly worth it, and we would love to return. A big thank you to all the staff for making our anniversary trip so memorable. - A & C

What stood out the most was how welcoming and friendly the staff was. I had asked one of the staff members a question about the train from Lisbon to Porto and then a connecting train to Douro Valley. They were able to sit down with me and provide me with a range of options on how I could get to my intended target. They even offered to call the train company to get further clarification on a question (although I didn't take up that offer.) Their service truly goes above and beyond. My girlfriend and I truly fell in love with the location as well. The streets of Alfama are so beautiful and fun to walk. It's also a perfect blend of having options in the evening (food, fado, gelato, wine) without getting rowdy like some of the other popular neighborhoods, such as Bairro Alto. Noise was never an issue at this location. Our room wasn't the largest, but it was still comfortable, had everything we needed and was extremely clean. Our favorite touch was a welcome cocktail provided on the first day. They give you the basic ingredients and instructions and you're able to craft the drink on your own - it was incredibly tasty. The breakfast spread includes a mix of pastries, breads, meats, cheeses and fruits. If you wanted something larger, there was a menu for omelettes, french toast and others as well. Everything we had tasted fresh and delicious. We spent 5 nights at this location and felt like we were able to get the perfect Lisbon experience from here.

Nothing comes to mind

The location of this boutique property is perfectly positioned. It was away from most of the hustle and bustle of Lisbon, yet close to walk to everything. The property itself has spacious spotlessly clean rooms, comfortable beds, and lots of natural light with opening windows. The daily breakfast was also a big plus. In addition to your standard cold buffet, they offered hot items from the kitchen as well coffee and tea. The real treat of this property is its staff. We were met with a glass of sparkling wine and given a personal tour of the property including all the amenities of our room. We arrived as guests, and left as family thanks to Rui, Pedro, and Alfonso. I think you would be hard pressed to find any hotel with the level of service that we received from the staff.

We regret that we did not spend more time in the local area surrounding the hotel. Every street around the hotel is an adventure.

Lovely, comfortable hotel in Alfama. Amazing service with lots of lovely little touches and treats to make you feel welcome. Really felt like the hotel went over-and-above to ensure a great stay. Room was spacious, comfortable clean and well appointed. Would definitely return. (The restaurant opposite the hotel was also excellent!)

Only really small things that would make this excellent hotel even better. Breakfast was generally excellent, but the eggs were overcooked every day. USB charging ports in the room would have been a life-saver. Also, nothing to do with the hotel, but I’d note that the tram 28 service was generally either full or unreliable, so beware if you need to rely on that to get you up the hill!

Staff went above and beyond! They booked things for us and even helped us order a charger for a phone and have it delivered to us. Joanna was well informed and provided so much information. ALL the staff including the breakfast staff provided the best service we ever had at any hotel. Breakfast was exceptional! Highly recommend the avocado toast and Nutella crepe!

The hotel was exceptional but the location was a bit of a walk away from the tourist areas. I wouldn’t suggest it if you have mobility issues. But Ubers and taxis are just a call away and staff is ready to make that call.

I don't know where to start! We were greeted upon our arrival with an offer of champagne or still water. Plus there was a selection of fresh cookies and apples. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They took us to our room and showed us how to use the TV, AC and other tidbits of info. The breakfast selection is over the top and scrump-dilli-ious! The rooms are modern, spacious and so inviting. A home away from! home. Awesome location too.

Nada! My husband and I love everything about this hotel and the wonderful staff. We highly recommend and plan to return.

Amazing breakfast in a quaint room. The staff were so friendly and helpful. On arrival, we were directed to an area where we could freshen up and change as our rooms were not ready. We left our luggage and on return, all luggage had been delivered to our rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable with nice touches such as complimentary pastel de nata, snacks, a specialty drink. The staff arranged for our transport to the cruiseport a few days later and were fantastic with directions and recommendations for sights to see.

It took a while to get our bearings as the Alfamo is a maze. This hotel is great for able-bodied travellers but I would not recommend it for anyone with difficulty walking due to the location and extreme incline of the hilly roads in the Alfama.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of options to suit every taste. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making the whole stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and pleasant getaway. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was, to say the least, fantastic, if there was a rating of 100/10 we would give it, the kindness and commitment of the staff are at the world level. The room is very spacious, clean, the bathroom is modernly decorated. You will be greeted with welcome drinks and their traditional sweets in the room. Breakfast is varied with the possibility of ordering additional food. The rooms are well insulated. We really did not find a single complaint, they try to please the guests as much as possible and are available for everything. So much they pay attention to every little thing, they even gave us a postcard as a souvenir when we returned. As much as Lisbon enchanted us, so did this hotel and these wonderful people. See you again.
