Warm welcome on check-in by Jenny. We had been selected, the guests for the day. We received complementary parking for the duration of the stay, a sweet treat in our room, and two vouchers for a drink in the bar. The location was ideal for the purpose of our visit. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast on site was very good, especially from a gluten-free aspect. There was a clearly marked area containing gluten-free items and a separate toaster to use, I was also given an allergy guide to check what hot food items were safe for me.

The only thing that was a negative, was the water coming through the ceiling in the bar area.

We had a wonderful stay whilst we were at the Leonardo Hotel.. It was a very quick stop over for us, we were attending a wedding. But whilst we were there we managed to enjoy the leisure facilities including the swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi and sauna which was just lovely. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the location of the hotel was very close to the wedding venue we were attending. All-in-all, the perfect solution. We often come past this way to visit family and go on our travels. I would absolutely consider this hotel again for another stop over if and when needed. So thank you very much!

I was disappointed with the experience at the leisure facility that day. It was extremely overcrowded, especially with children, which made it difficult to enjoy the amenities. The swimming pool, in particular, was far too busy and didn’t feel safe or relaxing. I believe there should be better crowd control in place. If the facility is expecting a high number of guests, it would be much more effective to implement a booking system—perhaps limiting pool access to 10 people per hour—so that everyone can enjoy the space comfortably and safely.

The staff were extremely helpful especially as we were travelling with a disabled relative. The ground floor has 3 levels but has a wheelchair lift to access the next level down. The room was of a good size and the outside area near the bar was very nice. Breakfast was provided and some gf options were available. Good public bus service to Cheltenham as parking is very difficult in town.

We stayed in the hotel in June and the bedroom was rather hot as there was no air conditioning although a fan was provided. The room was a decent size although a little dated. Having to use the chair lift because of the internal stairs slowed down disabled access. Parking was free for disabled customers but other guests had to pay £7.

Shocking dining experience on Friday evening 27th June 2025. Waited 75 minutes for the food to arrive, sent back the dry and burnt steak and ale pie then waited 20 minutes for another meal to be served resulting in the obvious of both of us eating separately which is both unpleasant and totally spoils the evening. The "restaurant manager" was the only staff member that spoiled a very good visit to the hotel with his unprofessional behavior stating that the hotel had a function on which was the cause of the delay in serving food, this is totally unacceptable.

Leonardo was located close to the Manor by the Lake and it was perfect for us. We were travelling up and wanted to stay in a comfortable hotel that offered a bar and a restaurant. All the staff from the receptionist, the bar staff and restaurant staff were very helpful and made our stay very pleasant.We found the hotel very clean.

Although our room was comfortable, it had a bath. My wife struggled with this. We had gotten used staying in hotels with showers.Disappointingly, the hotel was not able to offer us a room with a shower.Also the flag stones outside the hotel entrance were uneven and a serious tripping hazard and an accident waiting to happen. I very nearly tripped on the uneven offender.

The property was conveniently close to the venue we needed to go to. Reception staff were extremely friendly and polite. All the staff were great. Special shout out to the head chef Marik (sorry if this is spelt wrong) who went above and beyond for us. He was exceptional. The restaurant / breakfast/ bar staff were absolutely lovely too.

I don’t feel my room was clean well. I am happy to pay to stay somewhere if the cleaning is good. I’m not overly fussed about amenities and modern furnishing when it comes to hotel. That comes second to a clean room. The room rates were quite high and to pay for parking £14 for 2 nights was a little bit more than I would want to pay.

Great hotel, accessible location just as you get to Cheltenham. Good, large car park (£7 extra to park for 24h - you can enter & exit as often as you need to). Hotel itself was very clean - friendly staff on reception, warm welcome. Room was exactly as you'd expect, very clean & functional. Bathroom immaculate. Also used the pool when I was there - they provide towels & a locker padlock for you when you sign in. Pool, hot tub & steam room, plus a sauna located in the changing rooms. All fairly compact but perfect for what you need & again, very clean. In summary, good value, well located with excellent staff.

A little on the expensive side. Accessible room was very good. Bed really comfortable. The TV remote did not want to turn TV on, all other buttons fine. Probably need a new remote. There were 2 holes in the quilt cover. Breakfast very very good. Food at night reasonable price and lovely. Staff very friendly, even remembered us!!. One big problem we had was parking. There was a conference at the hotel and the carpark was full. I know that is not the hotels fault necessarily, but it was a problem. Other than my minor moans, very good hotel, very close to motorway, easy to find. We used a taxi to get into Cheltenham, cost 11.50. they also made sure the car was big enough for my mobility scooter.

Beautiful hotel, we were traveling from Yorkshire to Devon and stopped overnight to break up the journey. Stayed in Colchester Leonardo hotel. We thought the room was very clean the only thing we didn't like is shower curtain in the bathroom. The hotel in general was very clean, the carpet everywhere was new. Beautiful bar, very well presented lobby, with calm music playing, the restaurant was very pleasant and food was priced relatively reasonable. Good portions. The breakfast was superb. Great variety of pastry and bread, fruit salads, yogurts, vell made hot breakfast. And very helpful stuff, the Spanish looking lady who was serving in breakfast area was so extremely kind and helpful. We will definitely be back to this hotel. I would say that for the price it's very good.
