the room was spacious with plenty of storage. There was plenty of hooks in the bathroom for towels and robes etc. The breakfast was really good with lots of options to chose from. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The staff were all friendly and accomodating.

The onsite restaurant is expensive and has quite an eclectic menu, so we didn't try it. I would have liked another shelf in the bathroom as the ledge above the toilet soon gets busy.

The buffet breakfast was really good and the restaurant area was inviting. The whole hotel was light and modern. We had no problem parking in the large car park. There were always plenty of staff on hand if required. Considering we were on the ground floor facing the car park it was extremely quiet.

We stayed in a deluxe double room and the bathroom was disappointing and small. There was one small towel rail for both of us to hang wet towels and a tiny area to put toiletries. There were no extra pillows in the room and the ones on the bed were a bit uncomfortable.

The bedroom was a good size and very clean with nice towels and a comfy bed. The breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of cereals, pastries, cold meats, yoghurts even smoothies in the cold section and a good choice of hot items. The staff were all friendly and helpful especially the staff in the restaurant at breakfast, Denise couldn’t do enough for us. The car park was very big so we didn’t have any problem parking when we returned from our days out. Our evening meal in the restaurant was very nice, very good quality for a hotel chain. Although the hotel was very close to the M1 and A38 it was very quite at night.

We waited 50 minutes for our evening meal in the restaurant, and we were left sitting with our empty plates afterwards for some time. When the plates were eventually taken nobody mentioned or offered us a dessert. We couldn’t leave the bedroom window open during the night as there was a very noisy generator or machine of some sort outside the window, luckily it wasn’t too hot in the room so we were able to sleep.

The hotel and room were lovely.. and the staff were all very friendly.

There was a noise in our room.. that seemed to get louder at times... maybe a fan.. (we couldn't locate the source).. and my husband and I ended up sleeping with tissue in our ears to help block out the constant sound... we checked out the next day- after staying only 1 night.. and refused the offer of another room for the second night (we had booked a 2 night stay) as we didn't want to risk another bad night's sleep.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn South Normanton and I must say, it was an absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. This hotel deserves a well-deserved 5-star rating for several reasons. First and foremost, the staff at this hotel went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, promptly checking me in and providing me with all the necessary information I needed for my stay. Throughout my time there, the staff remained attentive and responsive to any requests or questions I had, making me feel valued and well taken care of. The accommodations at the Holiday Inn South Normanton were nothing short of exceptional. The room I stayed in was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep every night of my stay. The amenities in the room, including a flat-screen TV, coffee maker, and mini-fridge, were all modern and well-maintained, adding an extra touch of convenience to my stay. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping the room clean and tidy throughout my visit. The hotel facilities were also top-notch. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals, with a wide range of options to suit all tastes. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a variety of hot and cold items, including fresh fruit, pastries, and made-to-order omelettes. The gym and swimming pool were well-maintained and provided a great opportunity for relaxation and exercise. Additionally, the hotel's location was convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation options. Overall, my experience at the Holiday Inn South Normanton was truly exceptional.

Super convenient location along M1. We stayed for 2 nights to explore peak district ( 40 mins drive), chatsworth house ( 30 mins drive), bakewell, buxton and Sheffield. Designer Outlet East midlands is just opposite with many shops and food options. Bonus- there is Tesla Super charging points in the outlet parking as well. super convenient ! there is also EV charging points in the hotel parking. Room is clean and bedding is comfortable.

breakfast could have more options.

This is a stylish hotel situated just off junction 28 of the M1 motorway. It’s in a residential area and is attractive with a good restaurant which supplied more than just the usual pub/fast food. The rooms were modern stylish and comfortable. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was fine with staff clearing tables quickly.

Although the rooms were stylish I would have preferred to give up some of the amenities for larger twin beds. Single 3ft beds can be constricting, many hotels now have 4ft beds as standard. The one serious omission in this hotel is that it has no lift. This makes it difficult for people with mobility issues to reach either the 2nd floor or the basement where there is a leisure centre.

All the staff were friendly, helpful, informative and went the extra mile to make us welcome and comfortable. The parking, directly in front of the hotel was great, Roy and Dayna gave us a brilliant welcome, Laura,Holly, Callum and Ruby followed this up admirably and Joanne and Lauren must have thought my wife was stalking them , she had so many excited questions! It was so good we stayed an extra night.

We'd have loved the pool to be open... it's probably the only reason this is not a four star hotel....the staff and amenities are definitely way above the three star mark.

Nice hotel. We stayed 3 nights and our room was a good size with a king bed. Breakfast is buffet style with a lot of choice. The restaurant is a nice place to eat. The staff are helpful and cheerful. It does get busy though and a lot of business is conducted in the restaurant area throughout the day because the location of this hotel makes it very popular.

The car park is large, but with so many people using the hotel for business it fills up and it's difficult to find a parking space.

We enjoyed the speed of check in and the politeness of the staff on reception. The room was very clean, well presented and had everything we needed! The main public areas were also very clean and well laid out.

My only criticism is that the breakfast was only up to 930am, we missed it on both days as we weren't up in time! As leisure guests it would have been better for breakfast to run for another hour.
