One of the most beautiful hotels. The art work, the religious artefacts, the church!! The outside space. It's really wonderful. The spa is lovely. Our room, Queen superior was lovely. Comfortable bed. The location was excellent, a ten minute walk to the centre. The staff on the reception were very very friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend...

Our room was beside the lift and was quite loud, especially in the morning with people coming and going. The staff in the bar area are very very slow. Very nice but the wait time to get served or even noticed when in the lounge area was extremely long. I walked out at one point, fed up waiting....

Good location. Very quiet. Room was spacious &, clean. Great breakfast. Nice pool (though not too big) & (wet) Sauna. Everything was up to a 5* level.

The only three minor improvements I'd suggest: 1. Head shower/shower stream was weak and not to the standard I'd expect. 2. Too often, it took (a bit) too long for things that finished on the Buffett to be filled (we had to ask to bring more milk, orange juice, baguette) 3. A jaccuzy/hot tub would be nice to have (and frankly, an expected part of a 5* hotel spa). Same for dry sauna.

The building exudes a sense of history while the facilities are modern. The pool in the spa was a significant bonus.It is as clean and comfortable as you would expect for a 5* hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Our stay did not start well as there was a workman in our room caulking the bath when we arrived. In his haste to leave the bath was not properly cleaned so we did it. The bath itself was quite slippery and a walk-in shower would have been a better option. The other issue was the key card not working when it came to using the spa first thing in the mornings.

Location is great, valet parking very good, reception staff are excellent.

The restaurant area has a very bright basic room, the area next to it with the bar is more bistro like, the bright room needs redecorating to be more welcoming and the lighting changed. 3 couple were led into the bright area and all requested to sit in restaurant bar area . I did mention this when we last stayed here. Restaurant menu could also do with having some better choice of starters , otherwise food and service is nice.

Walking distance from the train on arrival. The staff were amazing, gave us all the information we needed about where to go, provided maps too which was a great help. Metro, shopping and restaurants all within a few minutes walk. The hotel itself was beautiful. We didn't eat there but enjoyed a drink at the bar, very cosy with great atmosphere. Even the lime blossom tea in the room was perfect, I've had to order some myself! Will certainly be back.

We booked a basic room, which was very well laid out and clean. The old style floor tiles were loose underfoot and climbing into the bath to shower wasn't the best. It didn't take from our stay though, we really enjoyed it.

Amazing architecture with a grand entrance. Really feels 5* with a red carpet welcoming you in. Staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They spoke really good English. The spa was lovely

The spa whilst it was lovely was a little small and unfortunately there was no availability for treatments during our stay so I would recommend ringing ahead to book these if you want them. The on site restaurant feels a little ‘cheap and cheerful’ compared to the rest of the hotel but still lovely food!

Good location in a quiet part of town. Comfy mattress and bedding, great air con in room. Ours was an attic room with lots of sloped ceilings. We’re both quite small but found it tricky to move around, my husband actually badly scratched his head. Clean generally but roof beans very dusty! Very poor tea:coffee facilities in room! Asked for extra milk and the reception walked all the way to our room with two tiny milk cartons! Bar pricey but a nice place to relax!

Room, extremely comfortable. I liked the bedroom having its own door, separated away from hall and bathroom. Sadly, although hubbie had taken his trunks he wasn’t able to have time to use the free pool. Breakfast was generous, coffee lovely even if the coffee machine took some working out. The hotel was very interesting, we loved the history around it and beautiful furniture

The black mould in bathroom and the limescale at the base of shower screen requires attention

The rooms were absolutely stunning. The building itself is a pure work of art. The room was spacious and clean. The male staff at the hotel are extremely helpful and cannot do enough for you. The women on the other hand were not so much, but I did find the language barrier very hard as much my fault as I find French a very hard language.

The bathrooms let the rooms down they are very old and could do with updating. Maybe a website order service for room service would be a good idea for those of us lacking in language culture.

Beautiful building, nice pool and steam room, fabulous bar and restaurant, amazing authentic room in the oldest part of the hotel with bags of character, wonderful staff. Special mention to Djim for a warm and enthusiastic welcome and to Angélique for an equally efficient and pleasant check out but all staff were great.

Cocktails were delicious but very expensive!
