The hotel offers good service, and staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel location is good and the room and common areas are clean. The bedding was also clean and comfortable.

The room was very hot, as the air conditioning was not sized to cope with the summer temperatures. The room was small and the price was too high.

I like everything I love the lobby the way it's decorated like the living room of a home. I like the staff and the way they hold the key for you. I love the continental breakfast. Nice elevator. Incredible location: you are no more than a half an hour by Metro from anywhere you would want to be in Paris. Great shopping good restaurants and cafes close by. I had a street view room with a large window I could open. Very comfortable bed, excellent housemaid service. the hotelier is phenomenal she arranged quite a few of my lunches and dinners at some of the toughest places to get into in Paris. I consider this place a home away from home now after staying twice. Also there's a self-service laundry a few feet down the street. Room has a safe which is key in major European cities.

The only thing I can say is that the bathtub was a little short but it's rare to even have a bathtub in a Parisian Hotel. The electrical outlets were in challenging places.

The staff were wonderful - friendly, obliging, patient, funny... I would come back for them alone! The location is superb: a stone's throw from the Pompidou Centre (which we could see from our balcony!) and the Hotel de Ville, surrounded by good places to eat and drink, but on a surprisingly quiet street. The beds were extremely comfortable. I would definitely come back for another Parisian mini-break!

The decor in the room was perhaps slightly dated and characterless (compared to the lobby, which is charming!), but it had everything we needed and was perfectly comfortable for two people. The hot water tank (I assume) is quite loud, but I expect this is just due to the age of the building.

Very secure on a quiet street corner in Le Marais. Great staff. Had a family vibe. Nice elevator. 24-hour front desk. My housekeeper was phenomenal. I tend to convert a hotel room into a bachelor pad. Everyday she came through there like a white tornado or the Cat in the Hat. Sitting room on the first floor was really beautiful and furnished nicely. Bed was comfortable. I liked the tiled bathroom, every square inch tiled.

The air conditioner may have had a governor on it I couldn't really seem to get it to cool down the room although my room was still comfortable.

Only a hand held shower over the bath, with no shower curtain, made it impossible to take a shower without getting the bathroom floor wet. Paris is a very dusty city - shoe cleaning material would be a very useful addition.

Location and staff perfect. Reception area on ground floor was stylish, luxurious looking and charming. A good sized working lift also much appreciated as not always available in the smaller Paris hotels. Room and bathroom were spotless and nice size but definitely more utilitarian in decor than the ground floor reception area/ communal staircase vibe of the hotel might lead you to expect.

would have been nice to have had some bottled water in the room. The rules about not having any food or drinks at all in the room was somewhat draconian. The continental breakfast (available to order as room service only) was a bit limited in offering though nice, and also punctual,- ie coffee, orange juice and croissant/ baguette with minimal butter and jam. No option even for yoghurt or fruit

A small but cosy room with a very comfortable bed, extremely friendly and helpful staff and situated in the heart of Le Marais with easy access to the Metro. Extremely grateful to the staff for supplying bio bread and green tea!

A lack of surface area for storing small items like phone, glasses, watch etc. Normally these would be left on the table but, as breakfast was brought to the room each morning, the areas situated either side of the bed weren't really spacious enough.

Always enjoy my stay here. Located in a great part of Le Marais - close to everything - shopping, food, metro and a self service laundry facility 100m down the road. The room we stayed in had minimal facilities (basically beds and private bathroom) but housekeeping always kept our beds and bathroom clean. Everything worked as it should. So it's perfect for those who just need a bed and private bathroom. The gentlemen at front desk always friendly and helpful.

Fantastic location in the heart of the lively Marais district, with its bars and restaurants and friendly, inclusive vibe. Also it's very close to many prime tourist attractions, as the Louvre, the Pompidou Centre, Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle. The room is kept very clean and the WC/Shower is spacious.

Despite its quiet charm, cleanliness and friendly Reception staff, the Hotel Le Vieux Marais has no room service or facilities for in-house snacks or drinks, so it's disappointing not to have a small fridge, nor a kettle in the room.
