I had a great experience at Kiez Hostel Berlin! The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I really appreciated the relaxed, cozy atmosphere. The location is excellent—well connected to public transport and in a lively neighborhood with plenty of cafes and shops nearby. It’s a great place to meet fellow travelers but also perfect if you’re looking for some quiet time. A note for Muslim women travelers: Since the hostel has mixed-gender dorms and shared bathrooms, it’s important to stay covered at all times—even in bedrooms and bathrooms. While that can be a challenge, I still found the environment respectful and manageable. Highly recommend for solo travelers or anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable stay in Berlin!

Really liked my stay in this hostel. First of all the stuff is really nice and helpful, the hostel is very clean everywhere, the beds are alright the pillow and duvet are real feather filled and very comfy with a silk covers. The hostel has a small kitchen where you can cook a meal for yourself. A very nice touch was some free items, once there was cake, later an energy drink, next day beers and instant coffee. Also hot water bottles for people with cold feet as well as umbrellas to use if it's raining. I definitely recommend this hostel and will stay there in the future.

The only negative I've found is very small lockers in the rooms, small back pack is max that fits in them, I'd feel calmer if the lockers were bigger and could fit more of your luggage.

So much attention to details, the hostel felt like home. A big lobby with armchairs and couches, kitchen with all necessary equipment (fridge, hotplates, oven, dishes), clean bathrooms with big mirrors. On the top of all this, great organisation with a lot of autonomy for guests ("use anything as long as you are respectful to the other guests and the neighbours"). The lobby was full of people, and yet I spent a super quiet night. The staff are very friendly, they explain everything you may need and even more. I will most likely choose to stay here once more on my way back !

The road from Ostbahnhof to the hostel had a lot of construction works and I did not feel quite comfortable, but I decided to follow bigger streets and it was ok. My city backpack would not fit into the locker if it was full (luckily, it wasn't)

Very cosy and homey hostel, it was nice to have somewhere to come back to that felt warm and comfortable after the cold days in Berlin. I was in a private room and loved that there was a kettle and tea in the room. I didn’t use the kitchen but it looked very clean and functional. There’s also a communal fridge and free tea for all guests. Close to two train stations and trams. Also lots of good restaurants and cafes about a 15min walk away.

It wasn’t the closest to the city centre or some of the main attractions of Berlin. It was easy to get a train though. The area it was in was also quite residential which was good as it was quiet but I didn’t feel the safest walking from the station alone as a female in the evening.

The room is very clean, cosy and well maintained. The shared bathroom is also clean. Room is spacious with blinds which is ideal for me who can't sleep if it's not dark enough. The hotel is very female friendly as they have tampons, pads and hot flask for girlies who is having their "monthly" visit ( I found that very nice!). Hotel location is near trams and a 10 mins walk to the nearest Sbahn. I would book in here again! ❤️

At night, reception is closed, it was a little confusing on how to find the room. There aren't enough signs especially that it is somewhat mix with residential apartments.

There are many considerate and thoughtful things this accommodation provided their guests with: hygienic equipment like cotton swabs and pads, heat bottles, free tea, chargers in the common area. I really like it when owners pay attention to all the details and find that important their guests having a fantastic time. Decoration was very elaborated, I liked the bamboos all around, and the design of the rooms was perfect. Rooms were named after the style of the room: ours name was sleeping car, and it looked exactly like a train sleeping car. Close to transportation (tram, train, metro), entertainment facilities, shopping mall, concert halls.

I liked everything.

A Home Away From Home: My Experience at Kiez Hostel ! Stepping out of my home country for the first time was nerve-wracking, but Kiez Hostel instantly put me at ease. The friendly and gentle staff welcomed me like family, making the transition to a new environment incredibly smooth. Their dedication to efficient and timely maintenance ensured a comfortable stay, and the convenient location near supermarkets like Aldi (just 150 meters away!), allowed me to easily prepare my own meals while still enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the hostel. What truly surprised me was the perfect blend of tranquility and liveliness at Kiez. While the hostel itself offered a quiet and safe environment, just 100 meters away lies Warschauer Straße station, a bustling hub for both party-goers and families. This convenient location allowed me to explore both sides of Berlin's dynamic personality with ease. During my stay, I met over 15 incredible individuals from across the globe, each encounter enriching my experience. The hostel fostered a truly unique atmosphere, making it a "home away from home" in every sense of the word. If you're looking for a welcoming and comfortable base to explore the city, I highly recommend Kiez. You won't be disappointed!

For extended stays exceeding 5 days, having access to in-house laundry facilities might be helpful for some guests, but it certainly didn't detract from my overall experience.

I was in Berlin for a week, a mix of leasure and work. I have chosen the 9 people room and was a little bit scared that he was going to be too noisy etc as I also had to work in the morning. However, everything went just perfect. The hostel is really clean, cosy and the staff really nice. I could work all day in the share living room and I have met many great people from around the world. And the hostel is in a great location too!

Nothing really comes to my mind

I couldn't have expected a better stay in Berlin! I traveled alone, stayed in the girls only room where I met wonderful people. The impeccable cleanliness, the friendly guys who work there, the optimal location both for reaching the most tourist center and for enjoying the nightlife and typical Berlin clubbing have definitely made this place the best place I could have expected to have a base as a solo traveler . The station is less than ten minutes away and the various trams make getting around super easy. There are numerous places where you can eat between €5 and €15 in the surrounding area. Berghain literally 4 minutes away for the bravest. I entered and I assure you that it is worth it! Every time I return to Berlin, I will know where I can feel at home, in this hostel.
