This hotel is very well located for any Hamburg trip, as it is next to the Landungsbrücken and on the edge of the portuguese quarter of Hamburg. A decent portuguese restaurant is located right next to it. Landungsbücken train station is next to it for both U-Bahn and S-Bahn, providing easy , no-change access from and to Hamburg Altona and Hamburg Main Station as well as Hamburg Airport. In case you're in Hamburg for an event in the Volkspark Stadion, a bus stop for line #2 is also more or less directly in front of the hotel. I travel by train, so I am not sure how parking is here, but I suspect it might be an issue. The hotel itself is an older building with some charming "Altbau" features. Staff was nice enough and check in and out was without any issues.

The "charming old building" has some drawbacks, like squeeky wood flooring, but the amenities are all modernized, so nothing major. Also because of the age of the building, the reception area and elevator are rather small, so if you arrive with a bunch of luggage or bigger groups, you might have to do several trips to get settled.

Brilliant little hotel, outstanding staff at reception. They were super nice (at arrival and departure). I felt really welcome right from the outset. Loved it. I booked a single room which was super clean, even had aircon and tea and coffee facilities (that is certainly not standard in Germany) Loved it. Am very happily going back there for my next visit in the Elbphilharmonie

Car parking is announced but a bit of a gamble. There are a handful of spaces outside the hotel and alternatively there is a parking house nearby, however that comes at an extra cost (which wasn't in the ad). Still I was lucky and found the a free space just outside the hotel.

The location was perfect for us since we were catching an early ferry to Helgoland. Besides, we're Portuguese, so we were pleasantly surprised that the neighbourhood has loads and loads of Portuguese restaurants. Really nice! The room itself had all the amenities you may need, it was very comfortable.

Online it says there is laundry service, but when I asked about it in the reception I was told that there isn't. I don't know if the receptionist was poorly informed.

Located directly at Landungsbrücken, the hotel is easy to reach by public transport - and also well situated to explore the city. My single room was reasonably spacious. A buffet breakfast is available (at additional coast) with quite a good choice.

The mattress of the bed was a bit too hard for my liking, but that is personal preference, I guess - and I still had a good night's sleep.

The location is convenient, easily accessible by train or on foot. Portuguese Street is lined with charming cafes and restaurants, with a grocery store conveniently located nearby. The rooms are clean.

Not so silent. There was an exhaust system of the restaurant just next to our room (104). if you are an early bird like us, it is annoying until restaurant closes. Room size shall be taken into account. Our room was 12 m2 which is quiet small.

The location was great, very close to the Elbe. When you step out of the hotel, you can see the Elbe. The neighborhood felt very safe. There was a bakery and supermarket right across the street. Many tasty restaurants and cafes are in the neighborhood. The UBahn was very close. Although the elevator is small, it held the 2 of us. The next time I travel to Hamburg, I will stay here again.

I sometimes need to use a walker and it was hard to get up the 4 steps to the lobby.

Room was good, location was good. I did not try the breakfast but the smell from the kitchen was quite enticing.

The fact that I had to write my own data into a paper sheet. This is the 21st century and they are still using paper to write the personal data of customers instead of writing them down directly into the computer. Also, I dislike that they request too much data from me. They shouldn't. It's invasive AF.

No ceramic cup in the room to make tea. Just paper cups. Difficult to hold when hot. Mentioned this on the second day to staff. She came back with only another paper cup. Unsatisfactory. Not until the third day did another staff member provide a ceramic / glass cup.

Location was superb. Room was neat and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

There was a really bad smell of fish in the hallway at the stairs. Not sure if this was only a once off from the kitchen perhaps? But it was quite bad. Also, the only small complaint was the pillow in the bedroom. It was very thin and difficult to sleep on.

Amazing location, walking distance to central to the main attractions, bus, and train! The extra fleece blanket was super warm during the winter, and it was a nice touch to get a packet of gummy bears on my pillow. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful and encouraging of my elementary German! I was also able to store my luggage when I arrived earlier than my check-in time.

I didn't mind this at all but some travelers may find this a discomfort: The reception area, elevator, and rooms are very small! I was a solo traveler with only a carry-on bag, so this did not really matter for me. But it maybe a hassle and you may need to use the stairs instead of elevator if you have a lot of bags/oversized bags. The elevator barely fit me and my carry-on, or 2 people if neither have luggage. The small room was fine for me, but if you have a lot of bags or have more than 1 person in a room, it may be a bit tight. I was mostly outside exploring, and again with just 1 luggage, this was no problem for me.
