Room, breakfast, bed and dinner excellent. But there was one problem. On our television we could only receive German language channels and, though we notified reception and a technician arrived, the problem was never resolved

Our television could only receive German language channels. We could not recibe BBC, CNN AL Jazirra etc.although they appeared on the channel menu. We notified reception and a technician arrived. He removed the television and then returned sometime later with the television ( or a replacement? ) and indicated that he could do nothing. The following morning, our last full day, we spoke with reception who offered to change our room. This we declined as we were content with the room and did not wish the hassle.

Breakfast expensive but worthy, very kind staff, airport shuttle (I would suggest the hotel to inform clients in advance, so that they do not need to deal with the german railways), position is 20 minutes walking from the center but the walk is nice. There is sauna and a pool that are nice

I would remove the moquette from the rooms; it is antihygienic. The air condition is noisy and the hotel provides too warm guilts even during summer time (but this is something that all hotels do :)).

The restaurant staff is amazing.

Maren that worked at the front desk seemed to not care that my family had gotten stuck in the elevator and the elevator car was bouncing. Ringing of the emergency bell was to no avail and when we were finally out of the elevator, I went to the front desk and spoke with Maren ago informed me that she's at the desk and cannot hear the emergency bell for the elevator. She then goes on to ask me how many people were in the elevator as I responded "four", and one was a 9 year old boy two teens and me. she goes on to tell me that there are too many in the elevator because the elevator only holds two people. This elevator clearly states "4 people" her tone and lack of empathy was just not of Marriot standard.

The breakfast is the best in Heidelberg. There were fried eggs and omelettes (cooked to order) available. If you weren't happy with the fried eggs they had they would cook them fresh for you. Plenty of hot and cold drinks, sliced meats, cheeses, large variety of breads and cereals as well. The sauna is textil-frei (probably makes the Nth Americans uncomfortable but very German) and well maintained, the pool is not but heated and indoors. The staff are very friendly from front desk, to the restaurant and cleaners. Every request I made both before and during my stay were met with kind professional responses. There was plenty of hot water for showers and baths, the bed was comfortable and the temperature was easy to moderate with the added option of opening the window. The view of the river and the lights at night is wonderful.

The room is dated (80's to 90's), although I had to REALLY look closely to find cracks or dirt. The property being Marriott can be expensive and sometimes it's hard to justify the cost with the age of the room. It would have been more ideal if the external wall/window were thicker to dampen the road traffic but not a problem in general. It's also a few blocks away from regular public transportation which might be bothersome for some people, but for myself I enjoyed the walking.

Such a wonderful experience we had.. it was my wife’s birthday and we wanted to have a short trip and what a perfect choice we made staying at this hotel.. they won our hearts when we were allowed to use executive lounge to celebrate the birthday.. my wife was so happy.. the staff was immensely polite right from front desk to the ones we met on floor.. the hotel itself has such a huge and decor rich living area which we loved because we also had to spend some time there on check out day.. best of all was the fact that my little pet was allowed to roam around everywhere. We would definitely come back to the town and this hotel in future.

Only one point, that every time before we arrive and during booking provide a request, to keep all items including coffee mugs, flipflops and tea & coffee for 3 adults, as we take a suit for 3 adults. But unfortunately this we find always missing after checkin. But this has been our experiences so far in all Marriott hotels in Europe.

The breakfast was awesome, it had a large variety of items to choose from and hot too Staff were very friendly and helpful too. The staff made you feel very important. Made my daughter and I very welcome at the hotel.

The air conditioner could had been better or at least some instructions on how to use it. A little warm in the room but by midevening time it cool down some.

Lovely facilities, spacious room, nice sized gym and pool and quite close to Heidelberg old town, 25 min walk or can get a tram, tram stop is down the road. Our room was clean and you have the essentials in your room. Beautiful christmas decorations too! Bar is great too.

Restaurant is quite overpriced unfortunately, we also had a miscommunication on christmas eve when we went to the restaurant for dinner and there was only a buffet available. We were charged €60 each, we contested this as there was no pricing on the menu and this is a lot, the manager took off our drinks. However, still €120 for 2 is very expensive and there are plenty of other restaurants open in Heidelberg old town. Additionally, on check in you are charged €50 per night as a tab and this is not optional. This wasn't communicated to us before arrival so was a surprise.

This is a great hotel overall. As per the other reviews, it is a very date hotel and not modern but the facilities are very good. Breakfast was great and couldn’t fault the staff here. Nice rooms and good location. Close to bus/train station.

There was no air conditioning in our room and the shower head didn’t stay in one place when the water was on for a shower which was odd.
