Top quality food which was abundant. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Well-mannered staff, high ratio of staff to guest, staff always asking guests if they are enjoying their stay, Beautiful rooms and common areas. This is a true five star German Hotel because every detail is attended to and the staff is highly professional. In Germany, people attend school to learn how to be waiters, concierges, etc. It is a profession, not a side job for actors or students who need to make money. Therefore, staff is knowledgeable, refined and efficient. If you need something, they will know immediately how to help you.

The rooms are beautiful and the hotel is very well taken care of. There is love in every detail from the fresh flowers and chocolates in the rooms to the delicious food in the hotel restaurant. We enjoyed dining in the garden restaurant very much, which a lovely setting! The location was excellent and all the staff very well trained, as well as very friendly and helpful! We would love to return should we visit Heidelberg again!

We loved almost everything. A tiny minus were the croissants which were not so tasty as everything else we enjoyed at the delicious breakfast.

Food was very good. Food servers were very pleasant.

- historic property - dine in food was delicious - it’s a very luxurious hotel - staff were professional - valet service was appreciated - the room was nice - the tv had a lot of channels - fridge was cold - the electric bed is a very wonderful touch - a lot of cupboards

- unfortunately wasn’t allowed to check in early - we found hair on the bed either from the cleaning staff or previous guests - bathroom had a lot of issues the faucets were very tight the toilet was in a very narrow spot the shower area is limited and tight just overall not so good bathroom - you can hear sound from the corridor while we were in the room

Absolutely marvelous! Just steps away from the old city, the hotel is a wonderful combination of old-world charm and elegance with modern conveniences and amenities. With their attention to detail, friendliness, and attentiveness, the staff gave truly 5-star service throughout every aspect of our stay. We particularly enjoyed evening cocktails in the elegant and beautifully appointed bar and cigar lounges after our days of exploring the charming city of Heidelberg. Easily one of the best hotels at which we have stayed anywhere in Europe! HIGHLY recommended!

Hotel with lots of tradition, very nice welcome, nicely decorated (pre-Christmas). Rooms well kept and clean. Excellent breakfast, the Bircher Müesli is home-made and excellent, like everything else at breakfast. Very attentive staff, and the senior owner looks after everything. We also had a dinner in the Kurfürstenstube. Just perfect! Very good wine suggestions which accompanied the amazing dishes well. Here again very good service by everyone. Thank you to the whole team for a very nice pre-Christmas treat.

Family owned for over 100 years. An amazing history. Today, the current owners (elderly parents who are beautifully elegant and still pop in every day… mother was helping water the gardens at 6am!) with their amazing daughter who is the hotels General Manager. She is on site all day everyday. I have never experienced this level of owner accessibility in any major luxury city hotel globally. A rare treat.

Nothing. Please stay at this hotel. It is uniquely special…top down management adored by staff and customers. They even employ full time seamstresses who make the curtains and other furnishings. Food superb.

The best part of this hotel is the staff. They are excellent and super helpful. The location is good as well as you are close to most attractions, good restaurants and so on. The staff will recommend restaurants. They have their own restaurant which is also a good choice. Breakfast is excellent.

My room had a quirky light system. It was hard to turn off the lights by the bed. The shower was not very strong. For those of us who like to swim in the morning, their pool is tiny. It is more like a splash pool.

The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Our room was not only esthetically pleasing but immaculate. Comfortable and relaxing. Quite space. Lovely touches such as fresh flowers in the room and in the bathroom. Strawberries delivered to us upon arrival. I was a single adult traveling with two kids, ages 13 and 10yo. We stayed in the one room together and it was extremely spacious. We frequented the pool and sauna daily as the weather was less than hospitable.

Pool could have be a touch warmer but that is just a minimal complaint.

I had very relaxing day at this hotel and it felt really private comfortable as if I am in my home. They provided an upgrade so my room could face the courtyard, not street that was very nice and careful. I would definitely come back. The bed was super comfy with nice beddings and adjustable feature.

The room could’ve been cleaner. Dusts here and there. Accidentally found a blood like stain inside a pillow case as well. In the night the phone next the bed made some random noise somehow so I had to take out the line off and this interrupted my sleep. I had my dog staying with me and it could’ve been nicer if a dog bed or a bowl was prepared which is usually the case when hotel knows it upfront.
