Very clean and good facilities. They were running donation based tours which was great. Free breakfast was great. Free dinner if you spend 4euros at the bar. Games night. Sports playing on tv. Lots of space to hanging out! They had a hostel WhatsApp group so other travellers were making plans together, great way to make friends. Great hostel and really good value for money and great atmosphere! Right by the train station so easy to get to from the airport.

  I'm very happy with my recent stay at the Avenue hostel, and I'm glad to chose to stay here. The free breakfast is a lovely touch, and the dinner deal - where you can get a meal for €4 with the purchase of a drink - was a great value. My room was clean, with a comfortable bed that ensured a good night's sleep. The receptionists were professional and efficient, making check-in a breeze. I'd like to extend my gratitude to Csilla, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Her hospitality was truly appreciated.   I also want to give a big shout-out to Norbi from the bar, who did an amazing job of keeping everyone well hydrated and entertained. His Kahoot nights were a highlight of my stay, and I'm grateful for the effort he put into making them so much fun.   Lastly, I'd like to mention Claudio, who consistently demonstrated a high standard of work ethic and was always friendly and approachable. (Gracias Claudio, eres un gran hombre.)    Overall, I'm so glad I stayed at the Avenue hostel, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

It is a smooth operation. Seems very organized. Each floor has a kitchen. Each bed has its own lockable shelf (lock not provided), plug & lamp along with a decent sized locker. Plenty of seating if you arrive early and want to hang out. No issues with wifi. A simple but solid breakfast that is replenished throughout the serving time so no issues for the snoozers.

checkin and checkout got a bit crowded but still didn’t have to wait long you need to pay a 5eur cash deposit upon checkin which is totally fair but obnoxious if you’re not expecting it and traveling without cash since everywhere in Budapest seems to accept card (not a real complaint)

Really nice place to be. Good environment, location and affordable prices. Staff was really helpful, Javier was so helpful. I also took the walking tour with Armendra. Simply the best. He was funny and shared great info about this city. Walking tour helped me get to know really nice people! So great!

I would recommend the girl from Chile, the ginger one for her friendly attitude, personality . I would not recommend the other ginger working at reception, maybe she is local who came across grumpy often. I would also recommend the night shift guy the one with the beard, not a local chap, , who on 8th Jan helped me out liaising with the waiting taxi man who drove me to the airport just after 3 am. Thank you .

Some of the staff looked grumpy all the time . A smile every now and then would be good ... I know it is a job for them but at the end of the day, patrons are the ones paying staff wages.. The bed was a a bit squeaky whenever I was just moving while in bed. I would suggest to get thicker pillows as the ones you used are a bit too small and thin. Breakfast wise , the free coffee was not too good. and I would suggest if you can have honey and instant coffee available during breakfast time.

Good location (octagon square) Great breakfast with eggs (free breakfast with no eggs is not even worth anything ever) Also breakfast time is good 8.30 to 11. Checkout is 11 am too (unlike many other hostels with 10 am checkout and breakfast ending at 10 am too) Best value for money honestly in off season it can be as low as 9 euros going up to 25 euros in peak season and weekends. Perfect mix of party hostel vs quiet hostel. Doesn't go to any one extreme. Great common room and kitchen . Free luggage storage Volunteers are doing good job , I met Andres from Costa Rica and Michael from France. Very welcoming and also the blonde girl at check in 5 euro charge as deposit which you get back Small details in dorm rooms : Beds are already made unlike many other hostels where they give you sheets and you gotta make them. Small thing but when you arrived tired, it's good to see a ready bed. small locker IN ADDITION to large ones (a first) Curtains for privacy (Small thing but many hostels don't have it) Hanging hooks 🪝 (small thing but you will be surprised how many hostels don't have it, sometimes even in bathrooms they don't) Good mattress + enough height for each bed, bottom or top with high ceilings

The building is classicist, has a high ceiling and old fashioned vibe but newly renovated with historical elevator and staircases, Locally In the heart of downtown with reachable distance the Culture “district” such as Opera House, Theatres and Music Hall and also closed to Metro/Tube stations and the very popular No.4-6 tram as well. Lots of clear sign and guide in the building helps to be informed. Big spacious Entry and Common area waiting for the Guest on the first floor where in the Mornings you can have a free brekkie, with essentials. And also there is options for dinner, homemade Hungarian style cuisine every night available with 4€ of drinks consumption from the Bar. During my stay the Staff, Receptionist (Marat and Vyon specifically) and the Volunteers as well was absolutely helpful and kindhearted, open for a bit chat or a morning smile what helps the Passengers feel like at home. There are different sizes and layout of dormitory rooms, the bunkbeds is comfortable and has privacy curtains, very modern with the huge locker (with padlocks) under the bed. Also extra storage place is available anytime. Lots of fridges accessible in the Hostel with Kitchen facilities as well equipped with nearly everything. Generally speaking the cleanliness is impeccable, I have not seen place like that before where the standard is so high and they checking every 3-4 hours the environment. Big shoutout for that to Csilla and her team. Free walking tour available cca. 2-3 times a week, I did not tried but was quite popular and nearly every night there is some program for the Guest, my favourite was a Kahoot, what is virtual Quiz with many topics, funny game and brings closer ppl to each other way easier.

Overall is all good, this place is working perfectly. Just a random things popping in my mind: that can be more variety with the Breakfast, extra protein or different breads, fruits on certain days etc. More sanitiser, seat cleaner in the toilets. Useable drier and ironing stations. Separate area for the Ladies, with Dorms/Kitchen/Bathroom-toilet combo is useable just for them.

Very friendly and open hostel with great staff and guests. I’ve met a lot of nice people during a free walking tour organized by the hostel. The guide Kumar Amrendra was one of the funniest guys I’ve met for a long time, (even tho he doesn’t think he is funny) :) Really great guy with a lot of information and fun facts in his head, who made the tour very interesting and enjoyable! Also a special greeting to Javier Eneas: He is one of the volunteers of the hostel and he does his work really well. He is always smiling and laughing and takes good care of the travelers. All in all really great hostel with a really nice reception (Szöke Szabolcs was a really friendly guy too:) ) and good concept. Loved too stayed there xx

Everything was sparkling clean, cozy and nicely furnished. The staff was always in a good mood and very helpful. The location of the accommodation is excellent, there are many cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. The most beautiful monuments are about 30 minutes walk away. Metro station (M1) is right in front of the entrance, which is a huge advantage. The buffet breakfast included basic items such as toast, eggs, vegetables or cereal with milk - nothing to complain about for the price.

I might just mention the broken dresser drawers in our room, but that's about it.

Fabulous location within easy walking distance of everything and Metro right outside for longer trips. Incredible value for money considering breakfast included. Could also get dinner and bar drink for 4 Euros every night.
