The location is right in the centre of town, restaurants, there are two 24 hours convenience stores nearby, one just next door & another 5 mins walk away, it’s walking distance to the harbour, to the museums, to the church, to bus stop #1. Breakfast was worth adding onto the room rates, good spread, with fruits yogurt, ham sausages, eggs, coffee and an assortment of teas. I got a room in the top floor, with a huge triangle window, overlooking the town centre and i managed to catch the Aurora right out my bedroom window in my 1st night stay!! So unexpected in the middle of Reykjavík town, despite all the bright lights!

Nothing! Room is A bit expensive but totally worth the view!

The hotel is centrally located, the breakfast (which isn't included for all bookings) was yummy, and the staff was incredible. I really can't say enough about the staff; they were friendly and eager to problem-solve.

The two things that I did not like were not in the control of the hotel - the weather was unseasonably warm and, because it's Iceland, there was no air conditioner (A/C) unit in the room. The hotel provided a fan and the cleaning staff helped us to open the window further than we'd been able to open it. Thank you for that! The other thing we didn't like was the actual location of the hotel - it was centrally located, as I'd said, but we didn't realize that the central plaza is where a lot of bars and restaurants that are open very late are located. Because we had the window open wide, the late-night revelers were quite loud. That was our mistake for not knowing that in advance - so now YOU know.

The size of the room was great and the location is fabulous for touring Reykjavik! Staff were all friendly and very accommodating! Breakfast was wonderful, a surprise for international breakfast in that it had lots of options and hot items.

The room was hot even though the heat was off. We could open one small window but was still warm. Also because we had the window open there was a lot of noise, screaming and arguing in the street at 3 a.m. This not fault of the hotel but we had to shut the window. Construction on hotel itself in afternoon when we were trying to nap.

Comfy bed, very very good location. If you take tours from Reykjavik, so bus stops #1 and #4 are like 5-7min by foot, from where they offer to collect tourists. Breakfest simple, nothing very special, but enough for morning and before tours.

My first room I got was to the main street, which was very loudy and unfortunatelly hotel windows were pretty old to stop the noise. Please have in mind it is pretty intense in the evenings and nights as bars and clubs are arround. But next day upon my kind request I was sent to another room which had to be quite, however it appeared it had some kind of recuperation system noise which was heard all the time 😀 so just asked for earplugs. Anyway, I am happy they heard my complain about the first room and gave me another one without any delays. Big plus for them !

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel in Reykjavik. The rooms were very clean, bright, and well-maintained. At check-in, we were asked whether we wanted daily cleaning, which we declined, but the rooms were cleaned regardless — a bit unexpected, though not an issue. The reception staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was served in a rather dimly lit area, and due to the presence of several large groups, the staff occasionally struggled to keep up with replenishing cutlery. However, this was a minor inconvenience and did not affect our overall experience. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Reykjavik. It offers easy access to the city and excellent value for money.

Great location. Near the City Hall Bus Stop which was very convenient for tour pick-ups early in the AM. Also very close to the Whale Watching Tour. Short walk to museums and shopping. Restaurants and Bars nearby. There is also a convenience store directly next door and the Vinbudin is down the street for purchasing beer and wine. 10-15 minute walk to Church and Rainbow Road. Very small and walkable City. The breakfast is fantastic. All you can eat with Eggs, Bread, Sausage, Bacon and Fruit. The staff working the breakfast was great. Very friendly and clean. The rooms were not huge, but big enough for two adults. The shower was great, one of the few showers I have stayed at in Europe with great water pressure and hot water. We also had a wonderful view that I asked for, and they were nice enough to provide! Overall a very good location and price for Iceland!

One of my only complaints was that the mini-fridge was not working and or did not keep anything cold. They do have an Ice Machine, but kind of a minor pain. The only other thing that was annoying was we paid for early check-in, and there was a miscommunication, so our room took longer than needed to be cleaned and ready, even though we paid extra for the service. I felt like the staff could have tried hard to get the room ready or at least keep us updated as we just sat there.

I had a pleasant stay at Central Hotels Plaza in Reykjavik. The location was perfect, very central and convenient, making it easy to explore the city. The breakfast was decent, but the selection was quite limited and remained the same every day, which became a bit repetitive over time. A little more variety would have been appreciated. The room was on the smaller side, but it was comfortable for a short stay. However, upon my arrival, I did notice a hair on the bed before I even lay down, which was a bit surprising. While this didn’t affect the overall experience, it could be improved in terms of cleanliness. Overall, the location was the biggest highlight of my stay, and with a few small improvements, it could be an even better experience.

Breakfast included was decent, hot and cold. Breakfast room)s) were not big enough for the number of people enjoying the buffet. Seating was limited; there was a line at each buffet (there were two!). Going when it opens is not recommended, everyone has same idea. Wait at least until 7:45. Location was excellent, near everything on foot. Room was small, even though we ordered a larger room. Tight but usual European size room. No dresser/drawers, only space on floor for suitcases. Room was very clean, no issues. Walk out front door onto the main street for shops and restaurants. Could not ask for more! Front desk friendly and helpful.

Room small, tight space. Otherwise, no issues

Location is very central. Breakfast was quite good. Room was clean. Staff at the reception and breakfast cafe was very helpful.

1. Depends on what you came for. You will be surrounded by numerous night clubs, bars, karaoke and the hotel has a square in front, which is popular with skaters, bikers and just people gathering. I was at the weekend, and had a music, karaoke singing, bikes roaring etc till 4-5 am in the morning. At 6am there come the cleaner trucks, which are also not very quiet :). If you came to party, you have it all! If not, make sure to bring earplugs. 2. The room has a small table below TV, but by some strange design, it doesn't have an electrical socket there at all! The nearest one is near you bed, what is few meters away. Make sure to bring an extender, if you plan to use your laptop.

The hotel’s location is ideal—taxis are always available out front, yet it’s within walking distance of most central Reykjavík landmarks. The surrounding area is lively, with a great selection of restaurants and shops. One highlight was the charming gelato spot beside the hotel; every flavor was rich and authentically crafted. Staff throughout the hotel were exceptionally courteous and welcoming. Breakfast was generous and high quality. I especially loved the freshly baked granola bars, thick Greek yogurt, and petite croissants. My only minor issue was that my room wasn’t serviced one night, so I had to request extra towels upon returning. Also, during summer months there’s no air conditioning (outside temperatures hover in the mid-40s to 50s °F). We kept our tilt window slightly open, but since our room faced west, it received sun throughout the day—particularly notable in July when darkness never truly falls. Despite those small points, I would absolutely stay at this hotel again. No doubt about it!
