I loved the character, as this home is so beautiful and full of history. Our group had two seperate rooms on two different levels, and it was so fun! We got the room right at the top of the house, overlooking the gardens outside. What an experience! Kamla was such a lovely host, inviting us in and showing us the reading rooms and other shared spaces. And for breakfast she provided a perfect selection of cereals, toast, muffins, fruit, tea and coffee. Was a wonderful stay out in the countyside. If it hadn't been raining I would have loved to go for a walk around the gardens.. maybe next time.

I loved everything about Ballynona House. The house itself has true character, a very lovely and very professional owner, and the house is spotless. There is a warm homely feel, and Kamla brings a genuine joy through her personality, attention to tidyness and hygiene, and making Ballynona genuinely feel like home from home I must also mention the awesome cat and dog. Both have fun and friendliness in their dna, and add to the welcome you receive. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast time was a perfect time. This was due to nice food and coffee and chatting with Kamla, who always ensured you had as much to eat and drink as you like. Whether travelling from abroad or from within Ireland and want somewhere nice to stay, Ballynona is peaceful, comfortable, and a great base to return to after a day's exploration. The tranquillity there must also be commended. The house has a spectacular view of the surrounding fields for miles, very picturesque. Highly recommended, and gladly so. Kamla deserves enormous praise for the clearly evident work she has put into creating such a nice place

I cannot name one thing I did not like. I loved everything about Ballynona

This house was fabulous like a big doll’s house with lots of nooks and crannies. Shame we couldn’t spend more time there the lounge area was very relaxing and had so many interesting paintings, books etc to look at. Great parking. Loved being out in the countryside. I have an ancestor from Midleton and wanted to get a feel for the place and also go into Cork City and Cobh. So tjis worked out well.

Nothing.

I just stayed for one night and i was there as was working locally that night. Felt very welcome by Kamala(Host) and just felt like stepping back into history with this house which has so much character to it. The gardens are beautiful the only down side was that I couldnt spend time enjoying the facilities as I was in work mode. The mattress on the bed was the best I have a history of back problems and felt very supported by the mattress lovely confortable sleep . Would love to spend a fw nights here when not working.

Liked everything about the house and the friendly dogs and the view out from the kitchen area is beautiful.

We had breakfast in a large kitchen diner with glass walls and a superb view over the terrace, garden and Cork countryside. We sat at a vast communal table beautifully set with a white cloth. There was an aga adding warmth to the room. We chatted with our host and fellow guests before reluctantly dragging ourselves off.

It would have been better to have our own bathroom but an en suite was not avaliable and this was reflected in the price.

A lovely old country house, it is quaint and has its own character. The host is very friendly and accommodating. Didn’t have a cooked breakfast but just some toast and coffee (which was excellent). Great value for the short stay. I like this place; they are becoming few and far between.

I suppose we all have become used of on suite bathrooms. It doesn’t take away from the experience here (IMO), so technically its not a dislike.

Very friendly staff, nice quaint location for a breath of fresh air. Nice that there was a study and piano available. I'm sad we didn't stay longer to enjoy it more. Nice breakfast options. As is common in Europe, since they had a bath there was no shower. But the bath was nice and deep and better than most I've had in North America.

The wifi didn't reach our room at the top of the building, so we had to use it in the study, which mostly wasn't bad, but meant I couldn't stream music to sleep to.

The host is lovely and welcoming. The house is ornate and antique. Beautiful mature garden surrending the house with great views to the North and south over looking parts of the East Cork valley. Short trip to the towns, villages, beaches and even Cork city. Quiet and serene. Nice comfy beds. Good internet.. Strong warm showers. Will definitely stay again.

Such a nice lady hosting this house, very kind and sympathetic. Always has a good tips on what to see where and she’s very knowledgeable in general. The house is very clean and it feels like home in there. I had everything - locks on the doors (I had them, some previous comments said the locks were not there), very clean sheets and many towels, even a heating blanket under the sheets that I could turn on in case of need. The breakfast was wonderful, irish and diverse. I just can’t complain.

Everything is incredibly organized, clean and host is friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly caring. She wants to make your stay feel like you are a member of her home. Her passion for the character of the property shows with how she greets you, provided coffee and asked how she can assist to make your stay incredibly safe and pleasant. Can’t recommend her enough
