Love this hotel, have stayed before. Great facilities, lovely staff. Very comfortable

Felt I paid above the odds for the Forest Fest weekend. I had to book a ‘Delux’ room through Booking.com as there was nothing else left on the site or with the hotel back in early December. €997 for 3 nights while our friends paid 600 for the same period in a standard room. While our room did feel more luxurious it was tiny, with very little storage space. Half the size of the standard room that our friends had. with just a free standing rail for clothes To my horror this rate did not include breakfast. Hotel said this was Booking.com rate ( nothing to do with them ?)

The location was great, the room was large and clean and water was provided. The staff were very polite too.

We were in room 231, next to a suite. On the Monday night, the guest in the neighbouring suite was listening to very loud music. I rang the front desk at 12:30 and no one answered. I rang again at 12:45 and they finally answered. A hotel employee came to the suite and knocked on their door three times but no one answered and the music wasn't stopped. I went out to meet the employee, he shrugged and said he might be able to move us. Why should WE have to move at 1am on a Monday night? The music finally stopped at 1:30. I mentioned this unfortunate event again at check out and a different employee shrugged and said "What can you do?".

On arrival we were greeted with happy and enthusiastic staff. The hotel was clean and it gave us a luxery feel on entering. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Everything we required was in the room. Ironing board, iron and hair dryer included. They had a restaurant and bar on site which was handy. The breakfast was out of this world. Such a great choice of food and beverages. Parking was in a multi story car park a few minutes walk away and was free by the hotel validating the ticket. Also it wasn't far from the town centre. Great stay.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like about our stay. The only hiccup was they forgot our food order and we had to wait and we found the chips to be undercooked.

Loved the adjustable coloured lighting above the bed in the room. Proper cool. And the jacuzzi bath, myself and my partner enjoyed, herself in particular loved it as she has no bath in her rented home, she even commented that when we have our own home, we'll have to get one of them baths. Costs a bundle I'd imagine! Breakfast was great also.

Would have liked to get around to a dive in the pool but it was shut around the half 6 mark, half hour after we arrived. Couldn't be helped though. No major complaints really as we were just there the one night.

Loved the ease of check in and friendly reception staff. Our bedroom was bigger than expected and the bed might have been the most comfortable I have EVER slept in.

On a few occasions coming into the bar the hostess was very cold with us. The staff in the bar didnt have much time for customers. We ordered deserts and tea and coffees, we had finished our desserts some 20 minutes before I eventually chased down our drinks, which we were charged in full for. I chose not to say any thing because I work in the industry and I can see a team trying but these little things make the difference!

I love the Midlands Hotel, rooms are lovely , bar is very friendly and the staff all get on so well you just know the environment is a comfortable and so flexible one for all your needs We had my sons 21st party Friday night and we have stayed the two weeks as we find it so pleasant, Joyce and her team are so professional and Sandra, Shauna and Kate helped us pull off the huge party surprise. Party foods was lovely and all our guests were happy Our room was cleaned and changed up everyday. Train station, Town centre bars and shops all 2 mins away and spa in hotel is newly refurbished and beautiful Well done Midlands Hotel!!!!

It has a fantastic 2 tier bar very spacious breakfast area and plenty of options. Staff were very welcoming and rooms were modern very clean and spacious. Also the cleaning staff that clean the rooms were very prompt in their duty and like to give them a special metion as well.

The heating was not on when we arrived, we rang reception and this was dealt with immediately. I suffer from gastric issues and found there was not much choice for people that can only eat plain food, however in a survey the management is taken this under review and this is not just this hotel this need to be addressed by every hotel and restaurant.

The bedrooms were very comfortable and had all the necessary facilities. Breakfast was very good. The staff very helpful and friendly. There were a few Christmas parties going on at the hotel; the bar was very busy but the staff managed it very well and did not wait long for my drinks order.

The main restaurant was closed so we had to order our food from the bar area which was very noisy. I ordered the pasta dish ( Rigatoni Arrabbiata with prawns) The rigatoni were overcooked and falling apart in a very liquid sauce. It was supposed to be an arrabbiata sauce but there were hardly any chillies in it and the prawns had just been added so had little flavour . My wife's choice of a Caesar salad was good.

Excellent location close to local bars & restaurants and shopping centres. Excellent facilities, beautiful food with plenty of choices. Spotless Clean hotel and very friendly staff from reception, bar staff, leisure centre staff & domestics!
