The Hotel Piroscafo has the best location! It is a 2 minute walk to all the ferries and less than a hundred yards to many shops and restaurants. It has a beautiful outlook to a little harbour . The staff on reception were extremely helpful. The bedroom was a great size, very comfortable beds and a lovely bathroom. The girls who dealt with breakfast are charming and very attentive and make great coffee. The choice is very varied and you certainly don’t leave hungry. I was so lucky that I chose this hotel. It was perfect!

I liked everything.

Great location in the centre of things, with bars and restaurants all around. 20min walk from the train station and 2 minute walk to the ferry port to head off to other destinations on the lake. The rooms here are small, but comfortable and well appointed - good cupboard space, bathroom and shower very good, hairdryer, mini fridge etc. Get a balcony room - well worth it. No bar in the hotel, but loads within a stone's throw. The breakfast is very good - excellent pastries. Coffees all made fresh. Very nice hotel team - Receptionist and breakfast service team are great. Offered to store bags after check-out etc. Very good place.

Minor, minor things, hardly worth mentioning - small room required a sliding door to the bathroom, right next to the bed, so had to close the cupboard door to get into the bathroom - steam and smells coming out right to the bedside.

This hotel was the cleanest I've ever seen in decades of traveling through Europe. I arrived early and was able to drop of my luggage while sightseeing. They recommended attractions and directed me to the ferry. The staff was kind and took care of everyone like a member of their own family. Breakfast was very good. I had to modify my schedule and the front desk took care of it without a problem. The location was perfect overlooking the harbor on Lake Garda. I will definitely come back and recommend to my friends. It was a very pleasant atmosphere in a lovely place. Excellent value for the money.

This small hotel is in a perfect and beautiful location in Desenzano del Garda. It’s a no frills hotel but staff are friendly and the room was immaculately clean. The terrace has a stunning view over Porto Vecchio, a little harbour of boats and pretty buildings and is about one minute’s walk to the lake. There are a multitude of nearby bars and restaurants. It is close to the ferry/ boat trips, and many points of interest in Desenzano del Garda. My daughter has coeliac disease and must eat gluten free food. The hotel had a good selection of gluten free breakfast foods including sealed packets such as croissants, cornflakes, muesli, bread, muffins, biscuits and breakfast biscuits. There were also fruits, gluten free yoghurts amongst other items. The selection of breakfast for non coeliacs was good for a small hotel.

I can’t think of anything really. I was not keen on the carpet pattern but that does not matter!

Although the room on first appearance was quite small ( courtyard room) and bathroom/ shower was small it was totally adequate. The room was cleaned each day to a very high standard , towels changed each day along with toiletries . Even though we didn’t have a lake view there was a lovely terrace with sun beds , table and chairs which have same view for less money. You are paying for we think is the nicest and prettiest area in Desenzano . The staff were extremely helpful, breakfast was very good indeed . Car parking was a bonus for €10 a day .

Positives far outweigh any small negatives.

Location was wonderful, the waitressing staff in the morning at breakfast were great. Reception lady was lovely. All staff were Very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was good selection of fresh fruit , meats etc and pastries .

The fire alarm in the bedroom at night constantly flashes a bright white light in room every 10 seconds , it was in your eye line when lying down , disturbing sleep or ability to drift to sleep . Totally misplaced in room - needs rethinking certainly in Room 11 - aware it’s for safety but not in right place .

Prior to arriving we sent an E mail requesting one of their rooms with a view if it became available. The hotel got us one of the rooms and upgraded us free of charge. There are 3 reception staff and each and every one of them were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Likewise with the staff that served breakfast. The view from our hotel room was stunning and the location is exceptional. This was our first visit to Italy and this hotel certainly did not disappoint. We would highly recommend it. Great value. We had an amazing holiday

There was nothing disappointing about the hotel

Beautiful and perfect. The hotel was in a beautiful location, right on the dock, surrounded by a number of great restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful and very polite. The room, and the whole hotel were extremely clean. One of the main standout points for us, is the fact they catered to my girlfriend’s needs. She’s coeliac and lactose intolerant, which can be difficult but as soon as the staff knew this they were extremely helpful. At breakfast, the waitresses would bring over soy milk without us even asking. There was always a Gluten Free option too, quite a big selection in fact which was massively appreciated. I really can’t write a bad word about this hotel, we had a beautiful holiday and the hotel and staff were a massive part of that. Thank you so much.

Exceeded expectations. Room was small but designed well with plenty of storage. For a small hotel, breakfast selection was very good - pastries, fruit, meats, cheese,cereals etc. Bonus selection of packaged muffins, etc for gluten free. Rooms were well sound proofed, we never heard other guests. Our room faced the noisy old port area, but with the balcony doors closed, we had no excessive noise. Staff excellent, location perfect.

The location was excellent as it was right in the centre of the town surrounded by restaurants and shops. The view from the balcony of the room was lovely. The breakfast was good and it was lovely to be able to sit out on the terrace to eat our breakfast. The bed was comfortable with a light covering suitable for the warm weather. The room had a fridge and kettle. There was a small lift so didn't have to climb stairs with luggage. The balcony was large enough to fit two chairs and was a lovely place to sit and people watch. The air conditioner was very efficient. It was nice to be able to get fresh air into the room. The bathroom was small but nicely decorated and clean.

The shower was very small and difficult to get in and out as there was a step down. There were no proper curtains at window only fine gauzy ones so had to be careful about changing with light on. There was only one English speaking channel on TV.
