An excellent hotel. It couldn't be better located if you are wanting to take ferries to visit the different towns on the lake, as it faces the little port area where the boats come in. It is in a nice square with some restaurants and ice cream shops and a bank and pharmacy. A real highlight is the selection at breakfast. We've travelled a lot in Italy and this is the best, most varied breakfast we have had. If you are gluten free, there are actually options, which again is rare in Italy! Gluten free cereal, cakes, croissant, bread, biscuits and lactose free yoghurt and milk too. The room was fine, a bit smaller than we had imagined but fine for us and the cleaners made it look lovely again each morning with fresh towels.

The only suggestion is that there aren't enough mirrors in the bedroom. There was only 1 above the sink in the bathroom, so not a full length mirror anywhere. Hard to do your hair as the bathroom was small and no surface to put a hairdryer down. So just more mirrors. Not a complaint - just a suggestion!

Great central location in easy reach of train station, with bars, shops and restaurants all around and directly opposite the ferry terminal which takes you on excursions to all different towns around the lake. Great breakfast with a decent variety of hot / cold food and beverages, all manned by friendly and helpful staff. The bar was very popular for visitors outside the hotel, as it was a good place to watch the world go by and cheaper for drinks than most other places in the area. I paid extra for a room with a wonderful lakeside view. Overall a really enjoyable stay and this hotel would be my first option next time I come to Desenzano del Garda.

On arrival I had to point out that the door handle for my room was hanging off, but this didn't affect entering and leaving the room. The electronic keypad for the safe was out of action, but they provided me with a key to use it manually.

Location is excellent and having a balcony room is well worth the extra cost. It looks out over the main promenade and lake which is lovely in the evening. Also close to the ferry port which is very convenient. Although the breakfast room is small, the food is lovely and a lot of choice is available. The outside seating which is open to non guests is also a great place to sit and have a drink.

Check in process was a little slow. The lobby of the hotel gets very warm in the afternoon.

Great location, right on the boardwalk, with a lake view. You can find parking in the nearby streets (esp. coming from the lakeside), which is a 1-2 minute walk from the hotel, and not very expensive. Even free between 2:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. A lot to do around the hotel, restaurants, Gelaterias, shopping, etc.

The guy at the reception, who seems to be a manager, is professional but very unwelcoming and cold. Breakfast is basic but ok.

Excellent breakfast, great central location right on the harbour. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful and made us very welcome. The bed was comfortable, and the daily cleaning service was excellent.

Booking.com should have made it clearer that the price quoted did not include an additional 20% tax. The decor of the room was a little tired, and could do with updating a bit. The air conditioning did not seem to work, and opening windows would have made it quite noisy in the evening.

The views from our room were amazing! The room was cleaned every day and the staff are so helpful and nice! The breakfast is great and has so many gluten free options which is a great feature to have. We were lucky enough to have a live band play right outside the hotel for our last night & to top it all off the lake was hit with lightening for an hour. Amazing to see! Definitely be back to Hotel Tripoli.

Staff were friendly, breakfast was really good. Location was excellent. Room comfortable, Good sound proofing, we heard nothing from outside or from other rooms in the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. Lots of bars and restaurants very close. There's a great street market on Tuesday's. It's set up outside the Hotel and runs along the road at the lakeside.

The location of this hotel is just perfect! Short walk to almost anything (bus, ferry, train, restaurants). The staff members are super friendly and helpful. Allowed us to check in early and check out late without any additional changes. The full Breakfast has a wide variety and is included with the stay.

There's nothing that I can think of!

Excellent location both for travel to and from (near the train station), and for stay (right on the water, lots of restaurants near by, access to the ferry). Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was well appointed, clean and good size.

There was some confusion on billing but we resolved this.
