We stayed for 3 nights and found the hotel perfectly adequate with very friendly, attentive and helpful staff - Sara in particular. It is family run by Sara and her mum. Our requests were dealt with promptly. The twin room we had everything we needed, yes it may be slightly older but it was clean and well cared for. There are no tea and coffee making facilities but we were offered cold water bottles multiple times and asked for milk which we left in the air conditioned room all day. The breakfast were perfectly adequate, service was attentive and again our quirky requests were fulfilled with a smile. The hotel is situated, as others have said, between the train station and the old town/ferry port - about 8-10 mins both ways. We didn't find it noisy at all although we could hear some traffic at times. Shutters gave total darkness, keot the heat out and shut out noise. We would definitely stay again.

What a treat this Hotel was. It exceeded our expectations and was a very memorable experience. The Owner Sara was a gem. She made us feel very welcome and nothing was a problem for her (not that we had any problems)!! Breakfast was typical Continental style but very fresh and completely filling with all the usual goodies, cerial, cold meats and cheeses, pasteries and great coffee. We even had a Balcony which was unexpected bonus and made for pleasant evenings having a vino and enjoying the lovely weather!! Hotel was approx. 600m from train station and approx. 500m to centre of Town. There was a Supermarket some 200m away and so location was perfect.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Gardinetto. It’s a lovely, family run hotel with an ideal location between the train station and the lakeshore - both walking distance. There’s always someone around to greet you as you come in or to help if needed. The staff were kind enough to let me check in early with my heavy backpack- no questions asked! I don’t speak Italian but the language barrier wasn’t an issue. The breakfast was nice. The room was simple, but had everything you could need. The room and bathroom were kept very clean and you are given plenty of towels and the basic toiletries. It was a great price for the service provided.

It didn’t bother me but the hotel is located on a roundabout and some may find it a bit noisy. Earplugs would fix this.

Warm and welcoming family run hotel which was especially appreciated as a solo female traveller. Location is perfect- 10 minute walk from the train station and about 5 minutes from the waterfront. Room was quite spacious (especially for Europe) and lots of options (and yummy cappuccinos) for the continental breakfast.

Could be a bit noisy with the street traffic. If you are sensitive to this bring ear plugs.

The hotel has an amazing staff that is always ready to help, they are very welcoming and friendly. Great breakfast including high quality products and fresh produce. The rooms were cleaned every day. Great location, just walking distance from the city centre.

Small inconvenience - The flush in the toilet did not work correctly and the hair dryer was severly overheating.

Very friendly and helpful staff, very welcoming and always with a smile. Felt like a lovely family run hotel with staff who care. 5 min walk (downhill) from train station and further 5 mins to the lakefront, beaches and waterbus to Sirmione.

I liked it all. Maybe a bit dated but this adds to the charm. Would be nice to have a kettle and n the room.

Wonderful welcoming and attentive service from every single person at the hotel. 3 star hotel with 5 star service! Although the decor is a little classic the rooms are inscrutably clean and have everything you need. Breakfast was really great- fresh fruit, yogurt, lots of bread, meat, cheese eggs and really nice coffee!

Nothing- excellent hotel!

- The location was perfect - close to the old town and the beach, as well as the train station. - The room was functional and comfortable, the bed was also nice. There was a large wardrobe in the room. - Everything was clean and working as intended. - Nice, friendly staff. - Traditional, homely vibe of the hotel, enjoyed it a lot. - Great view from the window - could see the castle and some of the Garda lake in the distance. - Really good breakfast.

- Honestly, everything was great :) - This is not a complaint, but just take into account that the hotel is located at a rather busy intersection, therefore you can hear vehicles driving by all the time. Did not bother me too much though.

I loved the traditional hotels (physical key, not a card...see photo...a small thing but charming in the digital age), etc. Spiral staircase, shuttered windows, sitting areas for leisure. A look back in time.

Nothing that affected my enjoyment of my stay.
