Excellent. Great service from all staff. We made a few initial enquires and were even permitted to leave our luggage a day earlier than scheduled. Hearty breakfast options. Convenient location. A 5-minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station. Comfy rooms. A classic dame of a hotel being given a refresh.

The hotel is in a convenient location, 5 minutes walk from the train station & easy walk to the main sites. I originally booked a standard room and they upgraded us to a king suite. The breakfast was good.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and great location.

We stayed in room 405 between May 22 -27. The staff were exceptional, courteous, and impeccably dressed in professional uniforms and dark suits. The breakfasts were very good, as was the restaurant itself. The hotel rooms and hallways were very clean and quiet. This hotel is from another era in some ways and makes every effort to maintain high standards. It has a custom that asked guests to turn in keys every time we went out, and the key had a heavy weight attached to it. We got used to it. Can ask for messages and telegrams (kidding) when requesting the key upon returning to the hotel. We found lots of outlets in our room to charge our cellphones. The bathroom shower was small and water pressure low though we managed. Lots of mirrors in the bathroom, but not in the bedroom itself. Windows opened to an internal courtyard, though there was scaffolding up as workers fixed roof tiles and repaired cracks and repainted exterior walls. Was a bit of a distraction, though not a big deal. Air conditioning and lighting were good. No English channels to watch on TV at night. Extremely close to SMN train station and lots to see and do within walking distance. Staying again in early June we liked this hotel so much!

We arrived to find the hotel covered in scaffolding and we were not happy that we had not been made aware of the work going on. The hotel staff kindly gave us a nice room in an annexe, away from the work going on. The breakfasts were very good and the cleaning staff friendly and helpful. I had dropped my wedding ring on the floor and it was handed to reception.

The hotel is very nicely appointed with old world charm. The rooms are spacious with en suite facilities. The location is one block from the station and close to everything but just far enough away to avoid the hustle of the tourist. The breakfast is also good and worth including.

There is little to complain about, but while we were there, construction was taking place and there was scaffolding blocking our view outside. One day this will be gone. The other dissapointment was the fact that they frowned upon taking our own refreshments to the terrace area. It wasnt a restaurant or anything...just a courtyard with some tables...other than this it is a great place to stay.

I would have given top rating if the bathroom in our room was operational. Luckily we had a family room and used the bathroom in the other room, otherwise not sure what we would have done as only stayed for one night. The rooms were precious, gorgeous decorations and we loved it. The location was great as well and the breakfast was reach with lots of options.

I think the hotel manager should at least have apologised for the bathroom being non operational but we received none. The technician/ greeting man advised they would look into it the next day as it was too late. I advise the hotel to have control checks prior check in to make sure the facilities are operational as not all customers are easy going!

The location and the breakfast. The lift and the storage of luggage after check-out. Some of the employees are nice and kind. But one man at reception is not very welcoming when I tried to check-in. He saw me approaching the counter while he was trying to sit in front of the computer. He sat down anyway and after I said I would like to check-in, he then slowly stood up and walked to the counter.

The staff were amazing. Thank you to Lorenzo, Giovanni and Emma. The rooms were so clean, spacious, Tuscan vibe. The breakfast food was AMAZING. There is NOTHING to fault about this hotel except the minor works, we asked to be moved and it was NO problem for the staff. Anyone that comments negative about food or accomodation shouldn’t be on this site. We are from Australia and they treated all foreigners with respect and bent over backwards to always please. Make sure you TIP Giovanni he took all our 6 bags up and down the stairs to foyer to get into lift. We will be back !!!!

The minor works to the outside, however this can’t be helped and you did everything to accomodate us we appreciate it and loved our stay.

The room was lovely, we especially liked the high ceiling, the decorations and the marbled bathroom with bathtub. Breakfast was decent, location was excellent, right by the train station. It was a beautiful hotel that we would happily spend a few night in again.

Water pressure coming from the shower was too low and there was scaffolding erected on the building and right outside our window - this really should have been flagged at the time of booking. As a result, we were unable to open the outer wooden shutters and had no view of the street with minimal daylight.
