Checked into Hotel City, a couple of blocks from train station. This hotel was a wonderful find near the central market and restaurants. It was also centrally located within a short walk to all the city center attractions. The hotel is well kept carrying a lot of the old charm of Florence in both architecture and decorations. The breakfasts was very nice with an assortment of pastries, fruits, meats/ cheese, cereals, yogurt, bread, juice and coffee. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and will definitely stay here again when next in Florence!

Very well situated in terms of sightseeing, many terraces and great restaurants in the area. The room was well isolated so it was quiet at night although it’s such a central, busy place. The breakfast was very tasty, in particular the fresh pastry.

The hotel was brilliant in a number of ways - the location was ideal (near to the train/tram station and well as all of the main tourist destinations). There were lots of restaurants and cafes and supermarkets within immediate distance but the noise levels were low. Our room and ensuite was clean and tidy (great rainforest shower!), there were plenty of towels and pillows, the maid service was good and efficient and the presence of an in-room fridge great. All of the hotel staff were responsive, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I can't rate their levels of service and support highly enough.

Being from the UK, there were not enough (black tea) teabags provided with the room.

Edita and Elian on the reception desk were brilliant, they spoke reasonable English and were very helpful in pointing out where to go and what to do. The hotel is just 4 minutes walk from the railway station so no taxi needed. The room was clean and there was enough drawer and hanging space for our things. The hotel is decorated in a traditional Italian theme with frescoed ceilings and stained glass. The buffet breakfast was the usual continental breakfast, this was regularly topped up throughout breakfast so that nothing 'ran out'. Literally a 5 minute walk from the Duomo and the historic town centre.

On first approach the outside of the building is a bit shabby which worried us, once inside and settled in our room we were more than happy. Some street noise due to tourists pulling their wheeled suitcases across the cobbles!

Everything about this hotel is a winner - a charming traditional style - the location just 5 - 10 minutes walk from everything, especially a range of great restaurants and the main station, the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, the fantastic showers and good linen. The security and 24 hour desk and not to mention a lift! It really is very good value for money. There is a laundrette and a supermarket less than 1 minute away. Above all, it is the STAFF who make this hotel stand out. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The whole tone of the hotel was happy. I have been travelling in Italy for 2 months and have stayed in numerous hotels of all standards, so I feel in a good position to comment. Huge thanks to Erjan ,Edita, Angela and Lorenzo at the front desk and to Alba who was a wonder cleaning the rooms. I had a superior room which was a very comfortable size. GRAZIE MILLE ragazzi! Ci vediamo. I look forward to staying there during my next visit to Firenze.

Amazing staff that helped and advised us getting the best tour and other great reccomandations with a wonderful attitude and service. The room was very clean. The location is more than perfect!

The 'small things': The double bed was actually 2 separate beds that got separated again and again. A sheet can't really hold 2 beds together. The bathroom includes only a shampoo. No glass no showercup and no other accessory It was uncomfortable for me.

It is a beautiful vintage and Tuscan style hotel with nice artwork on the walls. I specifically walked around to look at artworks. The staff was incredible. Special thanks to Bett (I might not be spelling her name correctly 😊) and Salim. They were so helpful and speak excellent English. 24 hour reception service. My room was extra large double room with a window to the street. The room has a good size bathtub which was crucial for me during cold days. There is an electric kettle in the room, another crucial item to have for hot teas during cold days. The room was outdated but clean, the curtains were so old and dirty. The room was spacious enough (it's Europe).

The wifi is really bad. It keeps getting disconnected every 15 minutes and you have to log back in every time. If you are a digital nomad then this is a problem. I couldn't get my work done sufficiently. But if you just need the wifi for social media you may be okay tho. Also, I know people mentioned this in other reviews, the walls are incredibly thin. The people in next room spent time in the bathroom till late (till 2 AM), that kept me up, because I could hear everything to the point that they may as well be in my room doing whatever they were doing. My earplugs didn't help, then I resorted to a double pillow to cover my ears. I wanted to scream. It was awful.

Breakfast was lovely and included enough variety for someone who is a gluten free vegetarian. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff was exceptionally kind, thoughtful and helpful. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the double-hung windows kept the room quiet from the street sounds.

I could hear EVERYTHING in the adjoining rooms beside and above my room. This was sometimes uncomfortable in the extreme although it changed somewhat depending on what other guests were there during my 7-day stay. Other people's bathrooms were ALWAYS graphically audible, something I hope to never experience again.

The location of the hotel is great. The room and toilets are very clean. The people working at the reception were always very nice and there was someone there at all times. When the windows are closed no noise comes in from the outside.

The beds and pillows could be more comfortable. The double beds are two single beds stuck together which isn't very comfortable. Their wifi is free but it doesn't really work that well. At night you could hear people in the stairs and corridors and in the morning I could hear the alarm of someone in a nearby room.
