Everything was truly wonderful — a kind, warm-hearted place full of human touch. Every morning, I left the key with the front desk before heading out, and always felt welcomed back. The windows are double-glazed and provide excellent sound insulation. After long days of walking, I slept deeply and undisturbed every night. The room was cleaned daily, and the shared bathroom was always spotless. With a sink in the room, simple freshening up was easy and convenient. There’s plenty of storage space, a very handy mini fridge, and wonderfully strong air conditioning — which I really appreciated in the summer heat! The tiny elevator was charming and added to the authentic old-town experience. Thank you for everything! I truly hope to stay here again next time. The most beautiful sunset in Florence wasn’t at Piazzale Michelangelo — it was right outside my window.

This place was perfect for my couple days stay in Florence. The staff are very kind and helpful. I had booked a room with a shared bathroom and they upgraded me to a private bath for only 15 euro. The bathroom was an amazing little space with a matching green toilet and sink. When I arrived early, they let me take a shower and change in the hotel bathroom before I could get into my room. If I go to Florence again, I would stay here!

The shower just has a drain in the floor, so you make a bit of a mess when cleaning yourself. There are also mirrors everywhere, which isn't terrible but sometimes I don't feel the need to see all of myself.

The location of the hotel is great right by the Medici chapel, the room we had had a great view, staff was very friendly. It’s family owned so they take care of you, beware to book a room with a bath, otherwise you will share. On that subject it’s a very small bath so just be mindful if you are someone big.

The only thing that I did not like is that the hotel closes from 2am to 6am, it happens to us that we were out having drinks and had to cut it short so we could meet the curfew, I mean we are on vacation so why should I worry about that… so that’s a big no no.

The hotel is in an exceptional location, right in the heart of everything. The staff is very kind and attentive and the property has been in the family for several generations. I like the small family-owned feel of the place. The rooms have nice windows overlooking the street and it is a great view.

Leaving the keys behind is a bit of an inconvenience but I didn't mind it. If you go out late at night when the desk is not staffed I would worry about someone taking it, but we were not out late so it was not a concern. The rooms are nice, it is more of an antique feel instead of modern but the bathrooms could stand to be updated. Lastly, rules about turning on and off the AC were a bit surprising, usually if you pay for a room in a hotel you expect to be able to use the AC as you like. Despite this, the stay was still a positive experience

This is a nice and cozy hotel in the very center. The hotel is very clean, and the staff is friendly. Even if the bathroom and toilet were shared with two other rooms, it was not a problem, because the bathroom was just in front of our room. The soundproofing of the windows is very good – even when the street is full of people until late night, we almost didn’t hear the noise. Air conditioner is a nice bonus.

There is no ventilation, so we opened the window only when the streets became empty and quiet – usually around 2 AM.

Outstanding location — as central as it gets! Just meters from the Medici Chapels and only a short walk to both the Duomo and the train station/tram to the airport. Surrounded by great food options (don’t miss Mercato Centrale!). The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. And the best part — the price was very reasonable for such a prime location. Absolutely recommended!

No complaints — you can't expect anything more from a 2-star hotel, in our opinion Lorena even exceeds expectations. Just two small tips: if you have long or thick hair, consider bringing a backup hairdryer (the one provided works but is a bit weak), and if you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs since the hotel overlooks a lively piazza. That said, we had no problems and slept very well.

It is family owned and the staff were super sweet and friendly. It was also a fantastic location as it’s only a few minutes from the main train station and also in the historical center of Florence. I was a young female solo traveler and I felt very safe in my accommodation.

There was no hairdryer in my room that came with a private bathroom, but I wouldn’t consider it a problem with the accommodation. 😂

The location of the hotel was ideal. Close to the train station and most importantly in the center. The best view from the window of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. The best restaurants and bars around. The room was best decorated, in the old Italian style. And the best staff at the reception. We will stay at this hotel again with great pleasure.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Florence and was impressed. It's a fantastic budget option, conveniently located near many of the city's top sights. The staff were very accommodating, offering a late check-in and even upgrading our room to one with a private bathroom. At check-out, they kindly held our luggage until 5pm, which was a huge help. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in Florence.

We really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Lorena. The staff were amazing from check-in with Lorenzo, to check-out with this lovely lady whom we forgot to ask her name (but we assumed she is THE Lorena this hotel was named after). As an added bonus, the hotel is just a short walk from Florence’s historic centre. Grazie mille for accommodating us.

The dated hairdryer needs an upgrade! It still does the job though.
