The location was great, close to the markets, town centre and tram station for the airport. The room was great, comfortable, and spacious with good bathroom facilities. The hotel had free wifi, a TV in my room, and was cleaned every day. The breakfast was great but was more cakes than actual breakfast food. The outdoor garden was also a great place to enjoy my breakfast!

The late night entry staff member was always rude upon opening the door as i didn't leave my room key behind at the reception. However, the reception staff didn't want to take it and said it doesn't matter.... So, there's a lack of communication there and honesty, no need for such rude night staff, key or no key. There is no access to an iron at this hotel, which sucks as I was there for a wedding and needed my shirts to be ironed. The room sometimes had loud pipe (or something similar) sounds coming from the bathroom. These were minor honestly, overall the place was great and this did not detract too much from my experience.

Loved the location. Very close to train station and historical sites. Staff was top notch. So friendly, helpful, personal, wanting to please their guests. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was on it! Impeccably clean, fully stocked, constant refilling so guests didn't have to ask for anything. When I did ask, they were so quick to want to please. The room was super cool. 2 stories w a larger space downstairs. The only thing I was uncomfortable with is there is no seating area in room. With all of that space, the only place to sit was far away upstairs. Sitting on a couch or a lounge chair would have been amazing after a long day of walking. With that said, they do have a sitting area in reception area. I just found myself going back to sleep. Not to hang out. I will definitely use this hotel on many future visits.

Just the seating space in room could have been maximized for an incredible esthetic appearance to a cool room and increase guests' comfort.

Quaint hotel in a quiet area, 13mins walk from Firenze train station, infront of a nice park. Mercato centrale and some sightseeing places are within walking distance. Room is old but has everything you need. Sufficient pillows and bed was firm. The bathroom looked to have been remodeled but is large, with a bidet. Friendly staff during breakfast and Adriano (reception in the evening) is awesome and very helpful. Bfast has a good selection of breads, cakes, juices, coffee, hams and cheese, and the staff cleans up pretty quickly. Can get busy so best to go very early or close to end time.

Since building is old, you can sometimes hear people’s movement upstairs. My room was large (thanks for the upgrade!) but didn’t have a window overlooking outside, nor a mini bar.

The Hotel was in a great location, only a few minutes walk from Florence's hisroric & beautiful sights. The Hotel was perfect for our stay, very comfortable, cool and clean. Our room was beautiful & spacious. The breakfast was wonderful, such a great selection of wonderful food, we ate each morning in the beautiful courtyard. The decor & ambience of the hotel was first class. The best part of our stay at the Hotel Donatello was the fantastic service, provided by the wonderful, friendly & efficient staff, they made us feel so welcome and were so friendly and helpful, they made our visit to Florence so special & memorable. We will visit beautiful Florence again in the future and will not hesitate to stay again at this beautiful hotel. It was a great experience, thank you alk at Hotel Donatello for making our stay enjoyable.

I recently stayed at Hotel Donatello in Florence and overall had a good experience. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, making check-in and any requests easy and pleasant. The room size was quite good, giving enough space to feel comfortable during the stay. However, the soundproofing was not great — we could hear people talking and moving in the corridor, which affected the quietness a bit. On the positive side, the location was excellent, close to many attractions and in a very nice area. I would recommend it for travelers who value a central location and friendly service, but light sleepers might want to consider bringing earplugs.

my room was on the first floor with windows facing the garden. unfortunately many guests prefer to have breakfast in the garden and make a lot of noise, it interferes with sleep especially if you are not ready to get up at 7am and go eat. my room was for early birds - alas, that is not me

We really liked this hotel - it was in a fantastic location and our room was great. There was a good choice of food at breakfast. It was very close to Florence city centre but still reasonably quiet especially in the evening. If you visit at the weekend there is (or was when we visited) a flea market in the piazza opposite the hotel.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like. Sometimes we had to time when we went for breakfast as the breakfast room is quite small and it could get busy.

This family hotel is next to a small park. The room was spacious with tiles on the floor. 8-10 min to the Firenze Train Station. There is a small refrigerator and A/C in the room.

Unfortunatelly the breakfast quality was poor for a continental buffet (ok if you like supermarket 1st price or if you have a croissant and coffee for breakfast), limited choice of fruits / veggies, but the good thing was that you could stay at a table outside in the inner court.

The Hotel is very centrally located and you only need to walk 10 mins from the train station of Santa Maria Novella. It is also about 15 mins away from Piazza del Duomo and 20 mins from Ponte Vecchio. There are numerous restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel has a classic style, which was charming. The room was quite cosy and clean. The bathroom was very good. The staff of the hotel was helpful.

The breakfast room because crowded unless one goes to have breakfast early. Food was a little basic. The hotel is old. The bed was a bit uncomfortable and the pillows a bit lifeless.

Very good location - 10-15 minute walk from the station and close to everything we wanted to see. The hotel was clean and attractive, the staff were welcoming and helpful (including looking after our cases after checkout for a few hours). The room was spacious and well decorated and the whole place had a good feel to it. Breakfast, which was included, was varied and tasty and could be taken in either the breakfast room or an attractive courtyard. The bed was very comfortable apart from the ridge down the middle (see below)

The water pressure in the shower was weak and where our twin beds were zipped together to make a double there was quite a ridge down the middle of the bed.
