First of all, the hotel is very close to the train station by foot, huge advantage! Apart from that, the lady at the reception was absolutely perfect! Lovely woman, always with a smile and happy to help. The room was really nice, tidy and clean! Definitely recommend!

The room was excellent and very spacious. Very nice bathroom. Aircon was quite quiet and worked very well. Comfy bed. Small fridge and kettle in room. Had a small outdoor space that was accessible however this was very small and was blocked in by aircon unit. The lady on reception was very helpful and gave us lots of recommendations in Florence. Overall a great room!

The hotel room was lovely, the best we have stayed in in Italy, however (not the hotels fault) the small park outside attracts a lot of homeless people. This made me uneasy coming to and from the hotel. Some steps to get into property - difficult with heavy luggage.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, but what truly made the experience unforgettable was the incredible kindness and hospitality of one staff member in particular. He was, without a doubt, the most genuinely kind and helpful person I have ever met. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. His warm smile, attention to detail, and willingness to help with anything we needed made all the difference. It’s rare to meet someone who makes such a lasting impression — he truly made our stay special. He also recommended one amazing place for breakfast 2 minutes away from the hotel and he pointed out the main attractions.

The room was centrally located within a beautiful, historic building. The hotel was a short walk from the magnificent Duomo and Central Market, both of which are must sees. Our room even had a beautiful view of the neighbouring park and the top of the Duomo. The room was spotless, well stocked, with just enough space for two people.

During check in, our receptionist was very helpful in giving me a lay of the land on what sights we could accomplish in the half day we had there. However, when our family (who were staying elsewhere) came by to use our restroom, the receptionist very rudely and abruptly told us that only hotel guests may enter our room. While this is a fair point, she was very loud about it, where other hotel guests could easily hear her, and our family members felt quite embarrassed.

Has since hotel is a perfect place to stay as a jump off point for a trip to Florence . We visited with family and the hotel was clean, well located, and accommodating. The views were amazing, and the hotel was fully renovated. It was a little confusing, getting up to the first floor, which technically, was the third floor. Once we figured it out, it was extremely easy. The host was extremely gracious and took extra time to point us to all of the important sites and restaurants in Florence. The rooms were well appointed, if not minimalist. The views were amazing and we felt safe and well-cared for during our stay. We highly recommend the Essence Hotel!

A room with a stunning view of the Duomo- RESULT! The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating on site. It was a great location and very good facilities.

I had severe reservations about having to send a copy of my passport because we were checking-in around 7.30. With so much fraud around I do not think it is a sensible idea to ask for such precious information across the internet these days. Whilst I understand how the staffing here works AFTER my visit, before we arrived, it all seemed rather irregular and so I would aim to explain to future guests how the system works, and how I suppose that factors into the value for money. Personally I don't really like having to go out for breakfast as it was not provided at the hotel. Finally and this is really minor, the room safe was on a shelf that was at a 20 degree angle which I found mildly irritating!

I had an amazing stay at Essence Hotel. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Florence, making it easy to explore all the major sights while also away from the noisy crowded streets. What truly made my experience unforgettable was the incredible reception stuff. As it was my first time in Florence and being a solo traveler, she went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, offering fantastic recommendations not only for the must-see landmarks but also for hidden gems that gave me a more authentic experience of the city. Her kindness, passion, and deep knowledge of Florence made my trip so much more special. The hotel itself was comfortable, clean, and had a great atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place with excellent service and a fantastic location, I highly recommend staying here.

Fully renovated property in a quieter street but no far from the main point of interest. Tram to florence main station (which is 15-20 minutes walk), duomo is 10ish minutes walk and restaurants and cafes are nearby too. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Carrefour market near. We had a room on the 4th floor which had a gorgeous view of the duomo and the city

Extra toiletries would have been appreciated. The lift is cramped and if someone doesn't close the door, it doesn't respond to the call, hence you might have to climb the stairs up/down in that scenario.

I love this Hotel very much. It was my second time here. The Position of Hotel is sooo Good, you need 10 Minutes to arrive in the center of City. The Personal is sooo nice..❤️ the romm was very clean

The Noises. If you are at first floor—good luck, you will not sleep whole night. The noises from other rooms and from the floor will wake you up every 30 Minutes. It ws horrible, we heared even the noises from other guest when there were taking shower oder washing hands or drying hair. It was soo loud that we had headache every night.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. When I checked in, the man at the front desk (I think his name was Luca) was so eager to show me things to do while I was in Florence. He took out a map and circled a lot of things for me. He is very proud of his city and wanted to show me all the wonderful things to do and see. He answered all my questions. He also helped carry my luggage and walked me to my room. When I checked out they happily called a cab for me. The room was spotless and was very new with all new fixtures. I also felt it was a very good size. Great price too!
