Location was excellent and perfect to see the beautiful landmarks in Florence. The room was clean and comfortable and check in and out was very smooth. Staffreally friendly and the breakfast was a great way to start the day!

Dog at reception wasn't friendly and didn't like strangers and no notice to say not to approach it. Maybe not the best pet to have in the reception area with lots of guests.

Great location and the view from the terrace is amazing - loved going up there each morning. We stayed in a twin room. Very comfortable.

There is a cover charge for the terrace in the evening - not an issue as the view is worth it, but charging Euro 10 for a coke is over the top- only 2.50 at reception. I paid Euro 12 for a glass of wine but my daughter doesn’t drink alcohol. I would have happily had 2 glasses of wine to cover the charge. We went to the terrace one night and it was beautiful. Breakfast was quite basic but went to an Italian bakery each morning!

Staff were very helpful, our room had a view of the Duomo which was amazing, bed was very comfortable, room large enough and aircon worked well. There was a small fridge in the room which was lovely after a long day. Having the choice to have breakfast on the roof terrace was fantastic.and there was always a variety of food.

Very unwelcoming enterance, hotel is on the 4th floor above a different hotel, dont walk up the stairs there were so many but If I had seen reviews beforehand of the lift that took you up and down I would have kept away, I have a fear of lifts and this was one of the worst I have seen! . The bathroom was OK, but the shower was a tiny cubicle, and the shower itself was very temperamental with both pressure and heat.

The location was central but not noisy. The bell of the Duomo wakes you up at 7 am, but I did not mind that as I had to wake up at that time anyway. The view from my room was amazing and the view from the rooftop terrace is breathtaking. The staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfast was basic but more than enough.

I liked everything. It was great value for the price. This is not a dislike but more a wish..I wish guests were allowed to bring up food and have lunch or dinner up to the terrace. (As long as they clean up) It was such a beautiful spot I wish I was able to take my food up there and just enjoy the beauty of the city.

Great location to explore Florence. We had an amazing room with as view of the cathedral and a fresco ceiling. There is access to 2 roof terraces giving you spectacular views over the city especially at night.

Lift is tiny so may take more than one trip to get your luggage to the reception.

I have stayed here before and I returned because I love the terrace overlooking Santa Maria del Fiore and the city to the East & West. Glorious. Plus, the staff is extremely welcoming and helpful and the location is absolutely perfect. All the key sites are within 10 minutes walk.

As with most older hotels, enough electrical outlets to run our gadgets is a challenge but an inconvenience you can live with.

The view from the upstairs terrace is unmatched in this area. We went to the top of the Duomo and looking down you could see just how perfect this spot is. The staff is great. Especially the bartender upstairs. He is probably my favorite that I've come across my travels and he made my experience at the terrace that much better. The location is perfect, you can walk anywhere, this is the heart of Florence. Train station is 6min walk as well.

The elevator is the most logical way up to the lobby on the 4th floor. Unfortunately this elevator is 100 years old and the exact dimensions of a coffin. Bar/Drinks closed at 10pm which is fine from a service perspective but they also then lock the terrace. This is such a shame because night-owls can't enjoy the Duomo at night while it's lit up and also cooler temperature out. Breakfast was low quality. So.... Many... Keys.... I understand places like these are old but it should be common practice for all hotels who claim this caliber to have keypads with codes. The AC wasn't "Cold" but it was cool enough on the really hot days we had. Although walking past some other rooms with the door open I felt some icey freshness rolling out and it did make me a bit jealous.

GOOD POINTS: My room was a little small, but fair and adequate for my needs. There was a safe, and I received a key to it when I asked at the front desk. The hotel is about 5 minutes' walk away from the Piazza del Duomo, which is stunning. I could see the Duomo from both the breakfast room and the patio on the roof. From the patio, I could see much of Firenze, which was beautiful. The breakfast room is well-appointed and stocked with everything any traveller would wish for a Continental breakfast. I personally prefer tea to coffee, although I'm aware that most Italians drink coffee with their breakfasts. Hotel Villani offers a choice of teas for breakfast, a point that was very welcome. The front desk staff were very helpful and attentive. On my last day in Firenze, they helped me to book a taxi to the local station, so I could continue my trip to Venezia.

To be honest, there was nothing I didn't enjoy about my stay here. I would definitely recommend Hotel Villani again to anyone who wishes to stay in Firenze. IN CONCLUSION: This is a good, welcoming, and comfortable hotel.

Everything! The location. The helpful and accmmodating staff. The room we had exceeded our expectations, always clean and spacious enough. The breakfast comes with a view! And breakfast is actually a biggg breakfast.

There was actually a power outage during our stay but the staff made sure that we are comfortable enough and even offered to let us sleep on the other hotel downstairs.
