Beautiful quiet location with amazing facilities. Lovely to be away from the noise of the city centre. Very clean and spacious room. Loved the swimming pool and the views from the terrace at sunset.

The restaurant and bar were lovely but a little over priced. Would have been great to have more variety of smaller more casual, cheaper dining options - club sandwiches, pizza etc as well as the more formal restaurant. The taxis to and from Florence ended up being quite expensive over a couple of days. The air conditioning unit in our room was also quite noisy but we kept it on because it was so hot!

This hotel is an absolute gem right outside of Florence. It's had to believe a 12 minute cab ride can take you so far into a different world. It has the genuine feel of a Tuscan Villa, but is still only a manageable (downhill) walk from the sites (and crowds) of Firenze. The hotel is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, but with views of Florence from the restaurant and pool. There was peace, quiet and beauty, but with convenient proximity. The rooms were immaculately clean. The staff was beyond helpful, especially Daniel, who made sure our rooms were stocked with waters as we needed them. For your notes, our family split between one of the apartments and one of the regular rooms. I can't say enough good things about the apartment. They made up the two bedrooms as one king and one double, with a very comfortable and well-apportioned kitchen and living area. The standard room was huge for a European room, with views and actual air conditioning The staff called cabs for us as we needed to go into town, and the cabs showed up within 5 minutes. One tip: If you're coming from Florence, walk across one of the bridges to the south side of the river before calling or haling a cab. It will save you 10 minutes and 10 Euros. In summary, If you're looking for a place to stay in Florence but want peace, quiet, and a taste of the Tuscan countryside, this is your place. It was certainly ours.

Unfortunately, the pool was closed during our stay, so we weren't able to swim after a hot day in Florence. It should be up and running by mid to late June 2025. The breakfast wasn't the best we had on our trip, but was included and still very fresh and generous.

Room was perfect size and cleaned. But I am missing conditioner in the shower. Breakfast excellent and location is perfect!

The resort is in a beautiful setting, surrounded by countryside but still only a 30 minute walk downhill into the city centre. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and accommodating, and the room itself was perfect and clean. The breakfast every morning was fantastic, very grateful for the gluten free selection, and the view from the restaurant over the countryside made it even better. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay for even a few days, it's location and quality I think would be hard to be beaten for Florence.

Only only thing maybe would be for no loud music by the pool for the whole day, otherwise we could not find a fault.

Our stay at Villa Tolomei for my nephew’s wedding was extraordinary from start to finish. Everything—from the accommodations to the wedding venue—was impeccably handled with an attention to detail that made the entire experience seamless and unforgettable. What touched us most was the care shown to my 87-year-old mother. My sister and her family arrived earlier in the week, and throughout their stay the staff watched over her with the kindness and attentiveness of family. That level of genuine hospitality is rare, and it meant the world to us. The wedding itself was nothing short of magical. The cocktail hour, dinner, and reception were beautifully curated, with a setting that captured the timeless charm of Florence and the Tuscan countryside.

There was truly nothing to dislike—only gratitude for such a perfect experience.

Wonderful customer service, especially from the lady that checked us in and our porter. (I can’t remember their names) The receptionist was of Asian heritage and she was incredibly professional and genuinely wanted to assist when needed. She is an asset to the resort.

Not being told about a wedding party the night that I made a dinner reservation. It’s important to let other hotel guests know if there is a private function and that the restaurant (with the fabulous views) won’t be available/limited during that time.

The location was magical. Breathtaking views over the valley, peaceful and serene surroundings. The room was spotless and well-maintained.

The bathroom had an issue—water leaked onto the floor due to missing seals between the bathtub and the tiles. It clearly needs fixing. The pool area felt a bit neglected: one of the showers was broken, electrical cables were scattered around the mobile bar, and there was no clear design plan for the flower arrangements. Also, pool towels weren’t laid out for guests, which was surprising given the setting.

Awesome villa: beautiful setting, great location next to Florence but in the quiet countryside. Hotel building is beautiful, stuff is nice, awesome breakfast with all Italian goodies. The nicest stuff. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, huge, with everything in it that one can need. It was in a separate building, was very quiet and calm in the evening. There’s a restaurant in the hotel, we didn’t have an opportunity to go but judging by breakfast should be really nice.

Villa Tolomei is like no other, it sits on top of a hill overlooking Florence. With the perfect pool area with a view and it's surroundings, plus the most wonderful members of staff who make it even more special. The grounds are immaculate, the property is beautiful, rooms are large. The breakfast is as you would expect at this standard of hotel, and the lunch and evening restaurant cooks fresh divine food. The city is a perfect 5 minute taxi ride. This was our second stay with many more to look forward to.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS VILLA... We were worn out after three days in Roma, then three days in Venice we arrive by train into busy Florence and our taxi driver brings us to this beautiful oasis just outside the city... surrounded by olive groves and Tuscan countryside My wife actually cried upon walking around... it's so beautiful
