The breakfast was amazing. They had everything that you could think of plus Prosecco. The room was very big and nice. They have free boat shuttle to Venice and back many times per day.The beach and pool were amazing as well. We would definitely stay in this hotel again.
Were are no sunbeds on the beach. The only way to have them is to rent the beach cabanas, but the price is 395 euro per day, that we're finding is way to expensive.

The hotel had a wonderful atmosphere and a spirit of generosity. The staff was professional and met the standards of such a hotel. The hotel even upgraded our rooms to a higher class, which was a really nice surprise upon arrival. The breakfast was sufficient and of good quality. The private beach was kept clean and the service in the cabanas was without problems. Marco took care of everything we needed in an exemplary manner.
Probably the price-performance ratio for food and drinks. One is prepared for the price of accommodation and cabana rental. Unfortunately, the price of drinks was unnecessarily high, but on the other hand, it was to be expected in a 5* hotel. Nevertheless, we accepted the price for the sake of convenience.. There were also some Eastern European clients who behaved noisily, rudely and drunk. Unfortunately, this disturbed the calm and relaxed atmosphere on the beach and in the hotel. However, the hotel is not responsible for this

We were assigned a top-floor room that was quiet (without anyone upstairs) and we had a nice walk-out balcony. THe weather was cool enough during our stay (in late July!) so that we were able to open the balcony doors for fresh and cool air. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfy; not too hard and not too soft. The breakfast buffet was outstanding in variety and quality and Donatella kept the staff organized such that we never waited for anything. She was terrific! And the pool was very nice; the area was large and it seemed there were lounge chairs and umbrellas available for everyone. The water shuttle to San Marco was convenient!
The beach cabanas were absolutely not worth paying for. We left ours and returned to the pool which was much better. From the pool it’s easy to walk to the sea if you would want to swim there but the pool was better (except for occasional misbehaved children).

It was perfect ! We loved the hotel, and the history of it , our room and the communal areas, pool and private dock were all stunning. Most of the time we were the only ones using the boat service to Venice and it was amazing arriving and leaving saint marks square like that . The staff were all wonderful and helpful, breakfast selection was huge and the food quality was good. Very clean hotel and grounds, the staff and the service were impeccable
We were in a classic room and it was twin beds but we had booked a large one , this was the only gripe

the incredible atmosphere of more than a century that this building has experienced, the beautifully renovated rooms, the sea view rooms have a breathtaking view, the sea is clean, the pool is heated and the half hourly shuttle to San Marco makes the Excelsior the best place in Venice, the restaurant is very good It was my about 20th stay in Venice and combined with a very exceptional Biennale the best. Thank you to room service manager Adriana for the great service and help.
even though the season hadn't started yet, the hotel was quite busy and the restaurant capacity was quite small

Perfect location , great facilities and a beautiful hotel I upgraded to a room with balcony and sea view, which was fantastic Excellent every half-hour shuttle boat to St Marco Staff was on top of things and very kind and service minded - across restaurants/bar, pool area , reception and concierge. You feel at home and appreciated
Eating and drinking at the hotel is expensive - but you have the option to boarder the shuttle boat (included in the rate) and find cheaper options Minor things, but part of the difference between “9” and “10” was that soap etc was not replaced when empty The balcony could have been better used with 2 outdoor chairs On sustainability, I suggest the lightening should not be put on after cleaning during the day and that towels should not be replacement when not on the floor On the face of it, a great arrangement with a vendor for a boat trip to Murano and Burano, as suggested by the concierge, but I suggest that you in stead book a non-vendor tour or just jump on/off the local ferry (you have to find your way back in any event and you would have seen more of the islands)

The hotel is stunning, so original, the history in itself is all part of the experience. The whole hotel is of excellent quality. The breakfast was outstanding, the pool is fabulous for children and families and big enough for guests travelling without children to have their own space.
Everything was perfect. The one tiny critique was that the housekeeping staff didn’t take our used cups and glasses which we left out on the side in an obvious place to be changed over.

A beautiful hotel, old school Hollywood glam with its film festival connections, and an amazing location right on the beach. Stunning views from our sea view room, lovely size room, spacious and very clean. The pool and terrace areas are beautiful, lots of space and places to relax. Food is great, all of the staff around the hotel are super helpful and friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. Breakfast is plentiful and eating outside is a great way to start the day. The free boat service to and from Venice is an excellent perk of the stay, the boats are beautiful and it’s magical to pull into San Marco or back to the hotel dock. There really is no where else to stay if you’d like some relaxing time as well as a city break. We’ll definitely return!
The bathrooms could do with a little upgrade, but perhaps it’s part of the charm of the hotels heritage. Non complimentary water, tea and coffee in the room was a shame given the cost, would have been very welcome rather than having to pay extra for standard basics.

Everything
Having no coffee in the room in the morning. Being charged 15 euros for some coffee pods that tasted horrible. Was going to stay another night but didn’t because this annoyed me so much. For what I paid it is mean , pathetic, petite and self destructive!!!

The hotel has a uniquely Venetian atmosphere and combines the beaches of the Adriatic Sea with the proximity to the centre of Venice. We have visited the hotel several times and we really like it. The size of the rooms is appropriate to the time the hotel was built and assumes you are living in them, not just staying overnight.
Although one can accept the fact that the price of the hotel is really high, especially in the summer months, it is a bit disappointing that the interior of some of the rooms is a bit dilapidated. However, the lack of service in the more remote tents on the beach at a price of approx. 400 EUR per day is definitely disappointing. Similarly, the pricing policy for drinks and lunches could be their unpretentiousness and also adapted to the simplicity of the food. The truth is that the quality of dinner in particular is reputedly excellent.
