What a wonderful town and fantastic place to stay. Serena was so communicative on where to park our car, how to catch the bus to the old town and directions to the accommodation. Make sure you travel light as there are plenty of stairs. The accommodation has lots of food treats and drinks etc to help yourself. Serena also had someone drop off some delicious focaccia to us one afternoon. One of the most majestic towns with so much to see and do, including the big walk over to the caves. Definitely stay in the old town and stay here. A great terrace with great views to relax on too. 5/5

I went on a spontaneous trip to Matera and booked into this B&B as I wanted to live in the middle of the Sassi di Matera and I´m so happy I chose this place!. The placement is right in the middle of the old town with a gorgeous view, both a day time and during the night. It´s easy to get to from the closest road where taxis/cars or buses can drive. The room was really nice, all with different personalities, clean and it´s clear that the owners want to give it it´s own personality with arty gadgets and cute small details. And it´s just off the worst tourist route so you can feel relaxed here. Its a short walk to everything (Lot´s of steps though). The view from the terrace is as I said quite spectacular with both the Sassi, sunrise and the caves on the other side of the valley. Was supposed to stay 2 nights but extended it one more since I loved it so much. And much of that is because of the exceptional service, help and friendliness of the owner, must be the best host I encountered in ages :-D Helped so much before I arrived, during and when I was about to leave. Felt really welcome here and would recommend this cute, small quirky B&B for all it´s worth :-D
A lot of steps. So a no go if you are in a wheelchair.

The view from the terrace is amazing! Excellent location . But be prepared for a climb up lots of steps as its a pedestrianised area. Worth it for the views though. Serena is good on communication and was very helpful in giving us a lift on the last day. Room and bathroom both very good.
The stairs are very poorly lit and need to have a hand rail and extra lighting put in. Tricky to navigate, especially with bags. Coming in at night from the street outside is also tricky - another light is needed here. Check in details given at the last minute, so slightly rushed. Breakfast was ok but could be better.

The location in the Sassi area of Matera was superb. There was a great view of the cathedral and across the gorge that the town is built on from the shared terrace. The bedroom was very spacious and had a high barrelled ceiling. We had access to the kitchen/dining area in which we could help ourselves to fruit, cakes, snacks and drinks. Information on where to park was provided, and the shuttle bus that runs down into the Sassi area.
The only criticism I could give is that it would have been nice to meet the host at some point during the stay. We were in contact by WhatsApp, but you can't beat face to face contact.

Serena had plenty of food in the refrigerator for us, and brought us tarts for breakfast. The terrace was our favorite place and we could see for a huge distance, across the gorge to the Murgia (the unoccupied caves), and we had a great view of old Matera itself.
It is tricky to find at first, although Serena helped us via phone and text. The city is a maze, but that is its charm. We needed to park outside the city and take a bus into Matera--it sounded like a lot of trouble, but was actually quite easy, aside from having to walk a long way with luggage, since we couldn't drive in Matera. Well worth the trouble!

The private terrace has magical views. Great for aperitivo’s. Serena was great-she met us at the station, and dropped fresh baked items-which we really appreciated. Shared kitchen was fully stocked-this would be an ideal location for two or three couples travelling together or meeting up.

Fantastic location, with a beautiful terrace giving a wonderful view of Matera and the gorge. Spacious room - very well and imaginatively decorated. Adjacent breakfast room with plenty to eat and drink at any time.
No criticisms.

Excellent location in the very center of the town. Although the accommodation does not include breakfast - my daughter and I were in for a surprise. A delicious breakfast buffet with a wide selection of delicacies. Parking space in the garage is only 5 euros/day. There is a bus stop on the top floor of the parking garage. The bus takes you to the very center of Matera. Simple logistics really.
