Here's the edited review: Our stay at Le Dimore Dell’Idris was truly magical, even if it was just for one night. The location was perfect for exploring the enchanting Sasso and immersing ourselves in its unique atmosphere. The accommodations were impeccable, with everything looking neat and fresh. In addition, the host was extremely helpful in making restaurant reservations for us. If you're planning to arrive by car, we highly recommend following the host's recommendations and not entering the Sasso zone. Instead, park outside Sasso on the street, it is not far from the hotel, or in the private parking lot further away (which the host can organize a transfer for). Unfortunately, we did not heed the host's advice and now are waiting for a fine to come. Don't make the same mistake we did!

The staff were very good. The room was fine . We had everything we needed Location was good. They were very helpful with getting us parking and providing information on restaurants etc. we also got breakfast a big plus

The bed had a hump in the middle but regardless I slept well

Pretty much everything about the property- its location, the staff, the breakfast and the beautiful room was absolutely delightful and made for a wonderful base from which to explore Matera.

The only negative was that we were not aware of the traffic restrictions in the ZTL which were in fact communicated to us but only a couple of hours prior to our arrival at which time we were driving to Matera and therefore didn’t see the warnings until we had already entered the ZTL and incurred a fine for doing so. Maybe if the communication could be sent the night before arrival it would have been more helpful. Be aware the minimum fine for entering the ZTL without authorisation is €80. and can rise to over €300. under some circumstances.

The room wasn’t big (it was absolutely as advertised, though) but well designed for maximum comfort and practicality. The location is excellent! And the staff are very professional, they provide helpful information and communicate very well. It is thanks to them that we maximized our time in Matera. Breakfast was also “just right”. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this to anyone.

Can’t think of anything

The location could not have been better for exploring Matera - right at the foot of a stunning cave church, very close to the cathedral, and with instant access to the winding staircases and passages of the Sassi. The hotel was in a beautiful setting - we sat outside our room in the evening on the tasteful outdoor furniture provided and it was peaceful and the vistas of the Matera buildings were fabulous. Breakfast was perfectly good with everything you'd expect to see on a continental buffet (with the exception of eggs but that wasn't a big deal for us). The room was comfortable, interestingly converted, tastefully decorated and spacious for a family of 4.

Nothing really.

We loved , loved , loved everything about the property ,breathtaking views and immaculate, high power shower, incredibly comfortable beds after very long days out exploring,it was absolute central location , our host Graziana was wonderful , friendly, informative, and as good as having a personal PA with you , helped us with restaurant reservations and suggestions. Buffet breakfast was delicious , we would all recommend and would definitely choose if we ever have the opportunity to visit Matera again .

The room is a typical and charming Sassi. It is very clean and the bathroom new; the shower was also great. All the staff are very polite and available for any question! The location is perfect, you can walk anywhere and see everything from there. Even so, the room was very quiet — we couldn’t hear any noise from outside. They also helped us with parking, which was incredibly convenient! The breakfast was amazing.

The mattress was soft and uncomfortable.

The location was perfectly located in the center and super close to key visiting points, restaurants, shops etc! Super clean and staff very helpful for directions and advice. Definitely recommended with a couple of suggestions, 1. if you have young children, make sure the hotel staff is aware of that while you are booking the room. We indicated that in the booking however, Our room was in two levels, with two single beds on second floor on a balcony. Not safe and convenient if you have young children. We could not use the balcony. So we suggest to give them a call 2. If you are planning to leave the property at 9 am and use the shuttle at that time, make sure the staff is aware so the breakfast can be served earlier than 8.30am (when it starts). So that you have time!

The location was perfect and very quite. Right in the heart of Matera with astonished views.

I did not like the breakfast approach since it was not very customer friendly. Also there were some misunderstandings with the booking of some activities which I did not like since the tour guide called us rude when we explicitly mentioned that the tour was cancelled due to the not availability of the tour guide at the expected time.

The location was fantastic as it was steps away from beautiful views but also close to where a car can drop you off so we didn’t have to wheel our large suitcases very far. The front desk was incredibly helpful with booking vallet parking & transfers at a very reasonable cost (€25) l, offering food recommendations and also helped us with luggage!

The room was slightly smaller than expected but still very nice. The breakfast was very tasty but small.
