It was a great experience for us. Place was the same as on the pictures. Very peaceful green garden to enjoy your morning coffee. There was no sign to put on door for no-housekeeping, so even we stayed just for 2 nights, we found the room was made the next day… There was a large wardrobe with hangers, clean sheets and towels, a basic but enough breakfast. Reaching from airport by a taxi costed only 13€ (2025). Pisa is a small town; even the hotel seems far from Pisa Tower it’s just 20 mins, actually everything is 10-20 mins walking distance. All locals warned us about pickpockets, we haven’t had any incidents though…

Sometimes in the daytime, there was a funny smell in the garden like they were producing cheese. Not all the nuns speak English but they are very nice and helpful.

Lighting in bedroom not so good

The location was excellent, right in the heart of shops and restaurants yet within the walls of the convent garden so very peaceful. The breakfast was perfectly adequate; bread, cheese, yoghurt, juice and coffee available as a buffet. The Franciscan nuns who run it were all so friendly and helpful, they rang for a taxi to the airport for us the morning we left.

Nothing to not like really. The room was as expected and the bed linen was clean and beds comfortable but the floor was a bit dirty in the bedroom and there was only one power socket that would fit our travel adapter.

This was a perfect find in Pisa, just off the main street near the station but utterly quiet due to the beautiful large garden/cloisters. The room was generously sized and very clean, beds comfortable. The nuns were very helpful and communication with them was excellent. We sat in the garden and it was idyllic.

The breakfast was simple and delicious with bread, cheese and cake, but it would have been nice to have some fruit or museli in addition. The shower in our room, whilst hot and a good flow was rusty and mouldy, the only less than perfect bit of the room.

Perfect location around 10 minutes from the station and 15 minutes from the main sites. Beautiful gardens, good breakfast, large spotlessly clean room (large double and two single beds). Very quiet at night, yet right in the centre of things. Great restaurants and shops nearby.

Lovely quiet place inside a convent. Run by nuns. Very comfy bed. Decent breakfast. Great location between tourist centre and station. Even walking distance to airport.

The rooms and bathrooms would benefit from an experienced tradesperson checking over fixtures and fittings as many quite tired or lose.

Loved supporting this religious house and enjoyed the garden and location and good value.

Perhaps due to the national holiday we heard noise from outside when going to sleep.

This is like a typical hotel but ever so slightly different in that it is in the grounds of a convent and quite a few of the people you meet are nuns. As a hotel the rooms we had were good value with pretty much everything you would want from a similar hotel (en suite, tv etc, buffet breakfast etc.) Whilst the nuns are very much front of house there are staff employed to look after guests - attend breakfast, make up rooms and so on. The actual rooms are in a modern extension overlooking the lovely gardens. We had ground floor rooms which meant we could use the gardens and terracing direct from the room. It’s a short walk to the river and then a few hundred yards to the leaning tower. There are high end shops on the way plus bars and restaurants. However, within 50 yards of the hotel is a square which has bars and restaurants. However, you wouldn’t know this in the convent walls. The real selling point is that this is quite cheap compared to many hotels in Pisa for no material loss of comfort. Worth considering - I’m glad we did.

Our stay at Casa per Ferie Religioso was a truly special experience that added a unique and memorable touch to our Italy trip. The accommodation is simple but very clean and comfortable — exactly what we needed as a family. What made it so special was the atmosphere of staying in a real convent. Hearing the sisters sing in the morning was so peaceful , something we’ll never forget. The place is full of character and history, which made our stay feel truly authentic. The location is excellent — within walking distance to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and close to shops, restaurants, and a laundromat, which made everything so convenient. Breakfast was simple but had everything we needed, including good coffee to start the day. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and meaningful stay in Pisa

This was a peaceful haven in the centre of Pisa. The gardens were delightful & the congregational singing that flowed from the chapel window was beautiful. The room was spacious (family of four, two grown children) & breakfast was lovely. The shower in our room was good & it was lovely to have a little seating area outside. My daughter & I enjoyed playing games at the little table. I wish we were staying so much longer than one night. I hope that one day we’ll go back.

We had a little issue in the bathroom. The shower went everywhere & the room was flooded! We had to use all of the towels to dry it up. This has obviously happened before, as the bathroom door was so warped that it couldn’t close. There are bright lights in the garden that shone into the room. It lit the room completely. I was lucky to have an eye mask with me, otherwise I wouldn’t have slept. Bathroom needs done tlc, but it’s functional & didn’t bother us, the shower was good though!
