Beautiful historic hotel with loads of character. Staying there feels like being transported back in time. Location is great. On the river and within walking distance of all major sights in the city (Leaning Tower about 10-15 minutes walk). Good value for money. Big rooms, decent breakfast. Lovely roof terrace full of plants and with drinks service. You will find mixed reviews of this place - some people love it, some hate it due to its age - but as long as you know what you're booking and you don't expect everything to be brand new and shiny like a boring chain hotel then go for it! It's the oldest hotel in Europe so of course it will have a few cracks here and there but we found it part of the charm.

Lovely location. Loved the vintage feel of the place..right in the centre of things. Loads of little back streets with food and drinking places.

We had a river view on the first floor but there was lots of street noise until the early hours on Friday and Saturday night.

Perfect location for THE TOWER, shopping, eating, sight seeing. Lovely restaurants at the doorstep. Only a 10 minute walk from the train station so easy to get to Pisa Airport in the early morning. Our room overlooked the Arno so felt like a movie scene. This hotel has a real antique ambiance - perfect for our family. We enjoyed exploring the different floors of the hotel, with unique furniture and decor. The rooftop terrace for sunset drinks was a bonus. The buffet breakfast was simple and delicious.

Because of the fabulous location, there was late night / early morning street noise - but with a 'white noise' app on the phones, most of the noise was drowned out.

An "ancient" hotel (in a positive sense) with period furniture and facilites, which I really like. Almost like a museum. THe room was large with a big bathroom, a huge comfortable bed and a TV set, facing the river. Everything is within easy reach - the Leaning Tower or the railway/bus station about 15 minutes on foot. Breakfast is served from 7 to 10 o´clock in beautiful rooms, a bit Italian style but sufficient: cakes, croissants, minipizzas, two kinds of salami and cheese, cereals, yoghourt... The staff nice and helpful, check-in/out smooth and fast.

The heating was not efficient enough and the tiled floor felt a bit cold, so a pair of slippers would come in handy, otherwise there is nothing I woud complain about. Some people might say the hotel is obsolete but I was absolutely satisfied.

We really loved this historic hotel! It feels more like a museum than a hotel with memorabilia of the hotel's long history all around. It was the first hotel in Italy and dates from the 1700's and many famous people have stayed here over the past 200 years. It is very spacious and you can easily imagine how popular it must have been in the days of "the grand tour" If you want everything super chic and all brand new with typical 21st century hotel decor then this hotel is not for you. It has faded grandeur and our bathroom, although perfectly clean, was not spectacular. But we loved the quirkiness .Lovely old furniture and so many interesting paintings, photos and portraits. It is a one off and that made it a memorable stay .

Finding the hotel garage was a tad tricky !

Service: The staff at Hotel truly made my stay memorable. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive housekeeping and concierge services, everyone went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. Dining: The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious choices, from fresh fruits and pastries to hot dishes and made-to-order omelets. I also dined at the hotel's fine dining restaurant, and the cuisine was exquisite, with a diverse menu that catered to all tastes. The service in the restaurant was impeccable, and the ambiance was perfect. Facilities: TheHotel boasts top-notch facilities, including a well-equipped fitness center, a serene spa, and a stunning rooftop pool. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the pool, where I could unwind while enjoying the spectacular views. The spa treatments were rejuvenating, and the therapists were professional and skilled. Location: The hotel's location is ideal, situated in the heart of the city with easy access to major attractions, shopping districts, and public transportation. I found it convenient to explore the city and return to the comfort of the hotel after a day of sightseeing. Recommendation: I highly recommend The Hotel to anyone seeking a memorable stay.

We really liked the location of this hotel. Right by the River Arno and only a 15 minute walk from the central station. Accessing it from the airport was really easy. In addition when we arrived early hoping to leave our bags whilst we walked around Pisa we were very pleased to find our room was ready and we could check in there and then. Obviously this may not always be the case but it was great that we could access our room immediately. The hotel has a very "classic" feel to it with some lovely pictures and photos on every wall we saw and lots of "Antique" items through out. Breakfast was a pleasant simple affair on the continental style which was adequate but dont expect "full English". We stayed one night at the start of our holiday and one at the end. Our room for the fist stay was small but again adequate. On the last night of our holiday we booked a river view room and it was definitely worth it. A lot larger with a bath and over bath shower. The best thing was the balcony overlooking the River Arno where we sat on our last night watching the sun go down. That was lovely. Staff were all very helpful and friendly and reception is covered 24/7 where drinks are available. There are some lovely bars and restaurants in vicinity of the hotel, a small square almost directly behind it and many shops on the main thoroughfare from the station. The Leaning Tower is about a 25 minute walk away through some pleasant areas.

The key point of this hotel is its age and the classic photos and antiques within it. Obviously this age has other effects on the building and parts of it do seem tired. This is not to say we didnt like it but modern amenities like USB ports etc and not there, maybe that isn't such a bad thing though. 😀

The location is perfect, as we also had room with view towards the river. The hotel itself very classy, loved the huge windows and the creepy lift. :)

This place is a real treasure. Absolutely loved it. Room was tidy, bed comfy and location was the best. Close to everything, and easy to take the 1+ train direct to Hotel. Breakfast was great and staff amazing. Godwin was so lovely and showed me parts of history in the hotel. The original kitchen and rooftop. Annalisa was extremely helpful with everything. Will highly recommend as this place is a true gem like a museum. I always imagined myself walking the corridors in a Victorian outfit. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in the beautiful historic oldest Hotel in Italy ❤️

Nothing to not like. Was amazing

The location by the river is great! We loved the view of the river and the clock tower. A short walk away from the leaning tower and the train station. Our room looked amazing! Very vintage and unique, with artwork even on the ceiling. We've never stayed in a room like this before. Really unique and we will certainly remember it! The beds were very comfortable, bathroom was nice and clean (and the liquid soaps smelled amazing), room was spacious and I was glad that it had an air conditioner, despite an old one. Even outside of our room, the hotel had a very beautiful decor and I enjoyed walking around exploring. The breakfast was nice too.

The air conditioner in our room was old and it didn't work as well as we wanted it to. The wifi didn't work for us - we're already staying in the hotel so I didn't like that it still asked us to register with our emails. Pretty cumbersome.
