Exceptional service. Gorgeous views. Lovely pool area. Evening cocktails and canapés in a beautiful setting. Reception staff are perfectly helpful.

The climb up and down, however, you do get used to it and helps work off lunch or dinner😂

The view from our room was fantastic. Breakfast was also really good and restaurant staff were very attentive.

The room we booked was no longer available when we arrived for checkin. The staff had moved us to another room which was not as nice. The gentleman at the concierge had a take it or leave it attitude. A very big thank you to Jose (Josephine) for coming to our rescue, bringing calmness and empathy to the situation and upgrading us to the wow room for the rest of our stay. She was absolutely delightful and made our stay extra special

So beautiful, staff were amazing and really welcoming . Breakfast with a gorgeous view was the icing on the cake. Loved it and can’t wait to visit again and spend more time.

The hotel is absolutely the best choice in Positano! Built in 1955, it retains the classic feel while being in perfect condition. The ocean view room is the best in the area , a view of the cliffs and ocean is stunning day and night. The staff are some of the nicest and most professional people you'll see in the hospitality sector. I can't thank them enough. The rooms are large and beautiful. The restaurant and poolside lounge is one of the best views in the area ....I would recommend it for people not staying in the hotel as well. Food and service was absolutely amazing! If you plan to visit the area, then Positano is the best spot and Poseidon is definitely the best hotel. I'm booking the same hotel and room in my next visit without even thinking.

The service at this hotel is exceptional. The staff are all friendly and helpful and very attentive. On top of that, the hotel is in a perfect location. The room was a good size and we had a great view over Positano. Being a family-run hotel, you don't get the standard features that you get in every chain. Instead there are personal touches everywhere, and it's very obvious that a lot of care has been taken.

Food on the Amalfi coast generally can be a bit 'fine dining' and we found that was the case in the hotel restaurant. The quality was excellent, but compared with Rome, Florence and Bologna, it wasn't as much to our tastes. Also it took an age for us to find gluten free pasta. Just to emphasise - this is not a criticism of the hotel as much as the area as a whole.

Having stayed at hundreds of hotels worldwide, I was genuinely impressed by the exceptional service from staff at every level. Our room offers breathtaking views over all of Positano - truly the best location to stay here. As an investor in premium hospitality, I can recognize outstanding operations when I see them. The hotel restaurant, pool, and bar all exceed expectations. The attention to detail and service quality feels like a solid 5-star experience, not 4-star. Hotel Poseidon sets the standard for Positano hospitality. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Impossible to find

Location was perfect. Staff was so friendly and helpful. I really liked having our own patio even though the view was somewhat obstructed. Breakfast was great with many options. We especially enjoyed sitting by the pool with the gorgeous view of Positano both in the morning and in the evening. The spa was able to accommodate me for a massage after hiking the Path of the Gods that same day.

All the rooms are different and our particular room didn't have a desk. If you need to bring your laptop be sure to ask for a room with a desk.

Everyone made us feel like family, Margot and Aldo in the front desk made everything happen for us, from reservations at the restaurant to getting us a great deal on a private boat, to even our transportation back to Rome, the staff by the pool was incredible also, thank you to Christain, pretty sure that was his name, he looks like a Italian KEN DOLL, can’t miss him 😂 also the property itself is located close to everything. Although you should prepare to takes some steps. But the beach is close by and shops and restaurants. Just want to say a big thank you again to everyone, we came for our anniversary and thinking of making it our annual spot to celebrate every year 🫶🏽

Loved everything

The staff at Hotel Poseidon went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They helped me arrange several reservations and transportation which was very helpful. The complimentary breakfast was the best way to start our day! The beds were also extremely comfortable. My daughter and I were traveling alone and I always felt extremely safe. The location was perfect for all the activities we wanted to do. You can not get enough of the beautiful view from the restaurant and pool area.

My only complaint is that for the price we paid, our room was located next to the laundry room and below the outdoor restaurant. It was quite noisy each morning between the two. Our room was called a garden view, which meant there was not really a view at all from our room.

I was bamboozled by the choice of hotels in Positano. it was a special holiday and I was hoping to have the best experience possible for our 2 day visit. I looked at all the high & mid range options. I had, in fact, booked a more expensive hotel when I came across a review for this hotel independently. I’m delighted I chose The Poseidon. This is a no fuss, authentically delightful vintage hotel. It’s not hung up on being overly cool or luxurious, which is refreshing and relaxing. The view from the balcony is amazing. Our room ( we luckily got a last minute upgrade to the Wow room) was gorgeous. The food was delicious, the pool and Tridente restaurant were faultless. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. it’s a short stroll down to the water. A winning hotel in my humble opinion.
