On arrival the receptionist was extremely welcoming. We arrived nearly 3 hrs before the check in time of 14:00. We were told that our room would be ready by 12:00 which was brilliant. In the end we were able to check in at 11:45! Our request for a room on a higher floor was acknowledged. We also had a large balcony which was a bonus. The room was spotless and both the room and bathroom were a good size. There was a vast choice of foods for breakfast with the breakfast room having panoramic views across the city rooftops. Overall we were very pleased with our choice of hotel.

There was nothing that we did not like.

Hotel location

Expensive - The rate reflects the prime location however, overall , no value for the money. Breakfast offer is very limited, I even found roten fruits. Too much of cakes and Deserts. No offer for omelets. Interior room design is old style. We reached the hotel late evening and there was no offer for a late dinner. We were told that we can order from outside. The driver that we took for airport drop off had a weird behaviour when I told him that I will pay by card and no cash. I also told him which flight I have and he dropped me and my Mother to a wrong gate. He literally took.out the bags from the car and left them on the street. And the pick up and drop off is not cheap. I paid 65 Euro, per way!

Hotel Bolivar is the perfect place to stay for a visit to Rome if you want a very clean, comfortable, Roman style, well located hotel for sightseeing in Rome. Look no further! This hotel is a very good value too. Our room was large with a king bed and two twins and we had a shuttered window overlooking a side street which we kept open for breeze. The bathroom was terrific: modern with a glass door shower. It wasnt large but just right. Breakfast was exceptional. There were plenty of choices, great coffee and a magnificent view of a cityscape. The staff was friendly and helpful. They got us a car to the airport and recommended ways to get around town. All in all, a great choice for a trip to Rome!

Cant think of much! We were very happy.

"I spent a week with my family at HOTEL BOLIVAR, and we were overall very satisfied with our stay. The hotel is cozy and clean, creating a pleasant atmosphere for relaxation. The breakfast was decent, although it would be nice to have a bit more variety, as we had the same options each day. I especially want to highlight the hotel staff—they are very kind and helpful people, always ready to assist and make our stay even more comfortable. The hotel's location in the heart of Rome is simply outstanding; it's the perfect place to explore the history of this ancient and eternal city. I confidently recommend HOTEL BOLIVAR to anyone looking to enjoy their stay in Rome!"

Every day there was the same choice of dishes. More variety would have been nice.

The guys were flexible and helpful.

I was above the entrance, the automatic door was a little bit loud, and walls are not 100% soundproof, my neighbors were so loud when the were talking to each other, but after I asked the staff to kindly tell them this, they went silent. The other thing, they were not prepared for breakfast to go, I paid but missed two breakfast because of that, I wrote an email about it as well before my arrival. Would be nice to be more flexible on that too.

Hotel Bolivar is within walking distance of so many historical sights in Rome. The staff at the hotel, Peter, the manager, was at the front desk during the day, Max who was on the front desk at night, the cleaning staff, Elena in the breakfast room were all so friendly and helpful. They treated the 10 of us like family and gave us great tips about what to see, where to eat, and how to get there. The breakfast room has beautiful views of the city and the breakfasts themselves offered a lot of variety. Elena and her staff were very attentive and friendly and made us delicious cappuccinos! The Bolivar has a terrace with comfortable chairs, tables and umbrellas that we enjoyed using to have happy hours, play cards and just meet there to visit with each other. We would highly recommend the Bolivar!

Our second visit in 6 years to this hotel. Well appointed rooms with quiet, efficient aircon, bathroom with bidet and good shower. The hotel is just 800m from Piazza Venezia and yet you would not know it - a quiet safe location, mere steps away from Trajan’s column, the Forum, Colliseum and all the main Roman antiquities. The staff are helpful and cheerful. Breakfast on the rooftop room has fab views across the Dome of Chiesa del Santissiomo Nome di Maria Al Foro Triano, to the top of the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II. I noticed that some reviews did not rate the breakfasts: in our view, the hotel offers a good standard Italian style breakfast - a selection of warm, straight-from-the-oven pastries baked throughout breakfast service, various continental cakes, fruit (locally in season choice of plums, apricots, pears) along with charcuterie selection, cereals and, of course, lots of coffee.

There was nothing not to like about this hotel.

A charming hotel in a quiet location, but within easy walking distance of many attractions such as the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain. Our room was small but beautifully decorated. The responsive, user-friendly air-conditioning system was appreciated given July temperatures of 34-37 degrees C. during our stay. We slept well. Staff were friendly and helpful, and house-keeping provided an excellent daily service. Breakfast had the usual hot and cold basics plus a large selection of beautiful cakes.

Limited space to air damp clothing after a day spent exploring Rome in very warm conditions. Would have preferred more than 4 coat hangers in the wardrobe.

The room was gorgeous... just right for 2 people and the interior was delightfully renovated and updated! The bathroom had everything we needed, and was updated as well. Everyone who worked there was lovely and helpful... Peter at the front desk came out to greet us when we arrived, and was able to answer all of our questions! The cleaning ladies were wonderful all the time, from helping us open our room, and showing us the card slot where we could turn on the lights (this is a great way to save electricity), to presiding over breakfast (on the top floor, with amazing views) with cheerful hellos, and recognizing all the guests. This hotel is set off from the main street, which provided an extra layer of quiet during the night, for a restful sleep. We were right in the center of the city, so close to lots of attractions. Peter helped us get a HOHO (hop on, hop off) bus pass, and provided a map to show us where the closest stop was. There was a small fridge in the room, air conditioning, wifi, a large armoire, and a personal safe in the room. I don't think we could have chosen a better hotel in the city, with a pretty exceptional price! If I get back to Rome again, this will absolutely be my first choice of hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The elevator was a little small, but I'm impressed they were able to put it in at all, considering the age of the building! We were able to get 2 people and luggage in together, and it was very dependable.

Lovely hotel on a quiet courtyard tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding streets. Nicely decorated room, on the small side but practical. Friendly staff made us feel very much at home, would definitely recommend

Small details: the highly inefficient pipe style hairdryer that you usually find in much lower range hotels and the lack of coffee in the room (only teabags)
