It's worth noting that I was originally booked in for Monti Hotels, but because of an unforeseeable technical issue, we were moved to a room in Salotto Monti - which is part of the same chain of hotels, and located within the same building, with the same reception area, so this review is still very relevant to Monti Hotels. In short, this place was perfect. I've given this hotel a perfect score. Firstly, the staff at reception were genuinely nice and friendly, and made you feel at ease as soon as you arrived (which is often not the case for many hotels, unfortunately). The room itself was wonderful - very clean and tidy, with tasteful decor. Even though our particular room overlooked the main street (views were great thogh), due to the double glazed windows, it was still very quiet. On that point, this hotel had excellent soundproofing (both internally and externally), which is important to me, as I am quite sensitive to noise, which was absolutely not a problem here. The bed was very comfortable. The biggest highlight of this hotel though is its exceptional location. Monti is a wonderful location in Rome in general, but this hotel is probably situated in the best part of Monti, on the western border, which means you are a short walk away from the colosseum to the South, and a short walk away from the Pantheon and other attractions to the West. The location is also closely situated to a nice hub of great restaurants. It's a beautiful and historical area that is also calm and feels very safe. If it's in your price range (it is reasonably priced) and you see this hotel available, my advice would be to grab it!

If I tried to knit pick, I could probably find very minor issues, but in all honesty there was nothing about this hotel that I didn't like.

The room was perfect for us as a couple, and the location was great! Our bed was nice and big and we weren’t far from many amazing restaurants and attractions! The staff were all lovely including the cleaners and security, all of which would smile and say hi every time we saw them. Truly made a great start to our days as everyone was so lovely the whole time.

Occasionally the water would be quite hot in the shower (which was fine obviously after adjusting it however we had to have it fairly close to cold for warm but that didn’t bother us too much) - other than that there really were no faults any minor things were always fixed quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The room was very spacious and bigger than expected. The bed was big and super comfortable, I can assure you, you will have a good night's sleep after walking the streets of Rome. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the staff was friendly. Location-wise, it is incredible, super close to several bars to have a simple breakfast in the morning and start walking and get to know Rome, and Monti neighbourhood is very nice to walk and find nice restaurants. The hotel also offers some "experiences" like photography walks, and similar things, we didn't make use of them, but it is a nice touch!

I wouldn't say this is something we didn't like, I would just add it here as a heads-up for fellow travellers, the toiletries given in this hotel are only shampoo/shower gel (all-in-one-solution) if you are not ok with that, just plan ahead.

-We are very pleased to stay in Monti First 🥰 First, the location of the hotel was excellent. You can walk to the important landmarks (Vittoriano, trevi fountain etc.) and also you can walk to the metro station Republica. There are supermarkets and small cafes around the hotel. -The room was so clean and every day it was tidied and cleaned. We had everything we need in the room. - Staff was also so kind and helpful. Especially Erminia was so supportive for us. Thank you for everything. I highly recommend this hotel everyone.

Location is perfect! Able to walk to most of the major tourist attractions within 10-15 minutes. There is a bus stop just outside for anything further. Loved the decor and the historic feel of the building. Lots of great restaurants and shops within walking distance and just a short ride from the train station (€15). Staff is friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was not actually breakfast- just a pastry and some juice. The cafe to the left when exiting is fantastic so we went there each morning.

Very loud from the street- down the street from a hospital so lots of ambulances and activity. Bring ear plugs to sleep.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. We were greeted by Rosa who was such a lovely person which was needed after 24 hours travelling from Australia to Rome. Quick check in process. We had Martina at reception each day who was also a delight, checking in with us as we headed in and out. The room was small and clean, which is all we need as a young couple wanting to get out and about each day. The bathroom was small so if you need more space this would be a concern, but not for us! The room was cleaned and cared for by Lilia to a great standard. The location was amazing, we walked to all the sights some only 10 mins away!

The location was great, it was walking distace between the trevi fountain and the colosseum and we love to walk. Not much food in the area so it wasn't a touristy street. also there are nearby bus stops if you're not keen on walking. The room we got was cosy, good enough for our one night layover stay. Toilets were super clean which is important for me, impressive for a low star hotel. Staff was very polite and helpful.

loud noises came from the windows that woke us up early morning as we got the back alley view.

The location was good if you want to be close to the Colosseum (we walked there). There are a several streets with shops and restaurants within walking distance. The restaurant food was very good. The hotel breakfast was nice, with a nice rooftop location (it was not free, but well priced). The bed was comfortable even though you would not think so looking at it, and there was a safe. The staff was very friendly and always helpful.

The room was small but at least it had a large bed. There were only cable channels in Italian, not much in English and no streaming services. The wifi was not strong enough to stream Netflix on my laptop.

The location is absolutely perfect as it’s in between the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain. The staff is very helpful and kind. It’s also convenient for anyone coming from/ going to Termini station after their stay. The view was stunning and the room was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend booking a room with Monti First. I very much enjoyed my stay a little extra because of how welcoming the staff was.

The room was big with a beautiful window so it had great natural light, the elevator was an added bonus so no carrying suitcases up the stairs. The bed was super comfy and it was a great location only 10mins either way to Trevi and Colosseum

It was quite noisy especially on a Saturday night but we were situated on a main road and right in the middle of the city so that was to be expected.
