The whole experience was six stars. My room was decorated in quality antiques with a deep bath, separate shower and double vanity in the marble bathroom. Blissful! The option to eat in the shady, jasmine covered garden or the plush dining room and to sit in one of the comfortable sitting rooms before and after dining was a very pleasant experience, especially after the hustle and bustle of the very crowded Rome tourist spots. The staff were exceptional… professional, helpful and knowledgeable about Rome and they all go the extra mile to ensure that guests feel welcomed and cared for during their stay. Very highly recommend.

I really couldn’t fault my experience at the Villa.

Absolutely exceptional boutique accommodation in a stunning setting, a lush oasis in central Rome. Easy walking distance to most attractions and a peaceful retreat for rest. The communication from staff was outstanding from the moment we booked right through to check out. We dined at the hotel each of the three nights and enjoyed a high level of service and delightful cuisine using long held traditional family recipes. We enjoyed the rooftop bar and the outdoor alfresco, especially at the end of a busy day exploring Ancient Rome. The breakfast selection was diverse and delicious. Our room was particularly well appointed, the bathroom luxurious with separate bath. Generous supplies of snacks and refreshments. Highly recommended, Villa Spalletti Trivelli is our new favourite hotel.

Nothing at all - perfect in every way.

Wonderful romantic old villa, very suitable for a stay in Rome. Excellent location.

Breakfast selection was rather poor, especially in warm dishes. Good quality but very limited choice. Having said that, the breakfast lounge was beautiful. The bedroom window didn't seal completely, allowing for a bit of street noise in the morning. I asked the staff if they could take care of it, but it didn't change.

Villa Spalletti is a beautiful, Roman villa located in a quiet, upscale part of town walking distance to everything. We chose it for our trip because we wanted a charming, classically Italian, luxury boutique hotel as opposed to a glitzy chain. Spalletti was exactly that and more. It is elegant, old world, but with modern amenities and comforts. The family that owns/manages the villa has a collection of art and antiques which fill the hotel making you feel you are visiting them for your stay. And in the evenings they set out a table in the livingroom for making your own cocktail which adds to that personal ambiance. Breakfast in the dining room was quite pleasant and the offerings were ample and delicious. Everything is served on porcelain, no paper or plastic. The chef and kitchen staff are wonderful. We decided to have dinner there one evening and it was very good, a nice break from the busy city scene. Our room was lovely with big shuttered windows and a solid luxurious bed with linen bedding. What a treat! And our bathroom was pretty, lots of marble and a nice place to get ready. We walked to all sights and restaurants from the hotel, the only exception was to the Vatican. Our Uber was 18Euro. I will tell everyone I know to stay at Villa Spalletti!

I am discerning and I cant think of any improvements.

We stayed at another SLH in Rome on our visit last year and really liked it. As nice as it was, Villa Spalletti Trivelli was head and shoulders above! Located on a quiet street just off Piazza Quirinale, it's an easy walk down the hill into the heart of Rome. Our Romantic Double Room was more than spacious enough with a very comfortable king bed, air conditioning, and a large, beautifully appointed, functional bathroom. Villa Spalletti Trivelli included everything in the room rate -- a fully stocked mini-fridge with a nice bottle of wine, constantly replenished water bottles (not plastic), healthy snacks, and all breakfast items (no extra charge for ordering from the kitchen). The staff are kind, conscientious and exceedingly helpful. Everything is spotlessly clean. The gym is the nicest we've experienced in many visits to Italy. I wish I would have booked ahead so that we were able to secure a room on our way through Rome on the way home; unfortunately, they are fully booked. This is our Rome hotel of choice from now on. Highly recommend!

This hotel was in a great location for us, but do want to mention that for those who may tire walking uphill due to health issues, it might be better to stay in the flatter part of town between Trevi and the Tiber.

Beautiful villa with 12 rooms. Fabulous central location yet quiet. Many stunningly decorated reception rooms to relax and socialise in. Nice touches like complimentary aperitifs and after dinner drinks . Free mini bar in room. Our room was beautifully decorated, large bathroom and again, nice personal touches to welcome guests. Top range toiletries. Breakfast was ample and varied with cooked selection on offer. Fabulous coffee. We didn't use the spa but enjoyed the rooftop area with hot tub and drinks. The staff were so helpful , professional and friendly and brought gentle humour to reception. I can not fault this hotel and would love to revisit.

We were warmly welcomed on arrival and given a complimentary drink in one of their grand lounge rooms. Our bedroom was very spacious with a large balcony overlooking the park ... very picturesque. Our bed was more than comfortable and the bathroom especially well-appointed, including a bidet and a bath, with warm bathrobes. We enjoyed using the other facilities in the hotel, including the jacuzzi on the rooftop and the Turkish sauna (possible to reserve privately). We were also pleasantly surprised by the free bar in the open loungeroom, where we could mix our own drinks each evening and sit by the open fire. At breakfast, they tried their best to accomodate allergies (gluten & lactose-free), and it was possible to order extra things from the menu, including omelette and preferred coffee, etc. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and Franco was especially kind in giving us tips on what to see.

The breakfast was fine, but we missed the extra touch which comes with a 5-star rating. Perhaps include some smoked salmon, more spreads for bread, and perhaps a different range of charcuterie & cheese each day, as it was often the same. We certainly missed the coffee & tea-making facility in the bedroom, as most hotels these days come equipped with a water kettle. We needed to order room service for this, which was understandably quite expensive. Dinner was available in the breakfast room, which was convenient, but the atmosphere was certainly lacking; some dim lighting would have been very welcome. The dinner menu is fair but a little expensive, considering the quality of the meal; again, not up to a 5-star standard.

We stayed in the Palatino suite as a family of four. Huge room with two bathrooms and a large private patio. It has excellent A/C, which is a must for Rome in August. This location is an easy walk to the Trevi. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful, and everything in the minibar was included and refilled daily. Every night, there were self-serve cocktails in the library, which were a nice treat, and an included breakfast. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Rome.

The driveway was a bit tight for our large van we had rented. The hotel requires you to ring a doorbell and wait for someone to enter which isn't that big of a deal but annoying when you forget something and you cant run back inside.

Loved everything. A lot of the time we felt like we were the only guests. The breakfast was excellent, so were the evening drinks. Good location close to cafes, restaurants, shops and a short walk to the Trevi fountain, but very quiet. Everything was spotless. Comfy beds and large room. We could open the window at night and let cool air in (the rooms in Europe are always too warm for us!). This hotel is outstanding- we’d go back in a flash.

It was a magnificent and historical hotel / home. Service was heard but not seen, very attentive and superb. The room was practical and well laid out. The location is close to all the major sites. So we could shop and return to the hotel within 10 mins walk to rest. Breakfast was good. The free minibar is very thoughtful along with complimentary evening drinks. And the sheets … not everyday you get to sleep on crisp linen sheets. Simply amazing.

Nothing. We stayed there for 4 nights and it was perfect.
