We were double minded before reaching the hotel as there were mixed reviews. Our room was 405 with 1 double bed and 2 single bed. The room was big enough for our family of 4. Everyday room cleaning was done and so the rooms were always clean. When water was not getting dried in washroom, we informed the reception in the morning before we left for tour and by the time we came back, the problem was solved. Very happy with the room service and the friendly staff.

It would have been better if there were changes in breakfast. We stayed for 5 days and all these days the breakfast was the same. But yes, compared to many other hotels where only croissants and tea were served, this was far better.

Excellent stay – great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms I recently stayed at Hotel California in Rome and had a truly enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city. The location is excellent – just a short walk from Termini Station, where trains from the airport arrive, making it incredibly convenient. It's also within walking distance of many attractions, including the beautiful Santa Maria Maggiore basilica. We booked three rooms, and all of them were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The beds were comfortable, and everything in the room worked perfectly. I also needed a plug adapter to charge my phone, and the staff immediately provided me with one, which was very helpful. The breakfast was quite satisfying, offering a good variety for a hotel of this size. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. When we initially booked our rooms, not all the nights we needed were available, so we had to split our accommodation between this hotel and another one. During our stay at the other hotel, the staff at Hotel California continued to assist us with a few things we needed, even though we had already checked out and they had no obligation to do so. This level of kindness and professionalism was truly appreciated and speaks volumes about the quality of their service. A special thank you to Michele, who was exceptionally cheerful, welcoming, and sociable. He helped us with a great attitude and even called a taxi for us to the airport, making our departure smooth and stress-free. Overall, Hotel California is great value for money, and I would gladly return on a future trip to Rome.

The location of the hotel is excellent, very close both to Termini and St. Maria Maggiore. The room was clean, nice and quiet. We appreciated change of towels every day. The breakfast was tasty and rich, included cold & warm meals, cold & hot drinks, fruit, yoghurt. It was possible to reserve breakfast box in case of early departure from the hotel. The staff was very friendly, helpful, hospitable. The reception was open 24/7. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and choose this hotel again next time I visit Rome.

When the reconstruction is finished, the rooms will be even more comfortable.

Excellent location for getting out to explore the city by either public transport or by foot. Hop on and off sightseeing bus goes from around the corner at Termini. Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurants on your doorstep as well as a launderette which was super handy for us on the move. Quadruple room was great size for us as a family with teenage children. We were meeting other family at this hotel and all were easily accommodated and happy with their rooms. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our room had a blind spot with the wifi. It didn’t bother us too much as we were too busy out and about. Wifi was easily picked up in other areas of the hotel.

This hotel is in a very convenient location. 5 minutes walking from Termini station, surrounded by restaurants and small convenience stores, walking distance to a large number of landmarks and tourists attractions. Room was very clean. Staff is really friendly, polite, and helpful. Breakfast is excellent

No major dislikes, Rooms are quite "tight," but I've been in smaller hotel rooms. The shower cabin could have a little shelf for toiletries. You can't control the room temperature because the thermostat is set on continuous and doesn't stop when reaching the desired temperature. Not sure why, considering the higher costs of running even after reaching the desired temperature . Minor issues anyway.

The room was spacious and clean, bathroom was spacious with a bath (bonus)! The location was close to the main train terminal which made it very handy both for trains and taxis as well as many great eateries that line the streets. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the building has a lift. Love that it has 24 hour reception. For a 3 Star hotel, it was great!

The timber window shutters were very worn and not very sturdy. We tried to handle them as less as possible. They really should all be replaced or removed as it also made the building look very tired and old from the outside.

Really enjoyed this hotel and will definitely return. Proximity to the train station makes it worth it alone so everything else is a bonus. The breakfast is very good, there are good restaurants and bars literally everywhere near it. A very short walk to the beautiful church were the Pope is interred plus many other attractions are nearby. A great base to explore on the trains and Metro, and foot.

Central location, safe area and good amenities. Staff were helpful when asked for anything. We had breakfast included which was a great spread of continental and eggs and sausages. Overall the hotel was value for money, the rooms were clean and tidy

Hotel was located next to a tram track and we heard it every morning, it wasn’t overbearing but if you’re a light sleeper like myself you will be up early when the run starts

Excellent location to Termini station and the beds were perfectly firm just like we both like. The check in was superb the staff all very friendly and helpful.

Well the room itself was a decent size because there is no desk but that makes it somewhat tight to use the room in a comfortable manner but that said I would not change anything by adding a desk because then the room would defiantly be way to small. Since we only stayed 2 night this was not a real issue for us but could be if you need to do some remote work from the room using your notebook.

We stayed with 2 small children and liked the room size. The location was about 5 minutes away from the train station, easy walk with kids. Rooms were brand new and modern with no Italian touches. Rooms were cleaned everyday by maid service and was excellent. Location was perfect for an easy walk one way to the Colosseum and the other way to the Trevi/Pantheon.

Breakfast room was in the basement, nothing too fancy and only ate there once. Didn’t love the surrounding area, but for the price, it was a decent hotel near the train station.
