Great location, very close to train stations and shops. Staff were very nice and greet you when guests entered the hotel. They gave a feeling to me that I was staying at a luxury hotel. Staff were very helpful and were willing to help out with looking for food nearby and reminded me to stay alert of my belongings at all times. AC worked well especially in this hot weather. I could chill and relax after walking and sweating. Room and bathroom were clean as well. The overall experience exceeded my expectation! I would recommend this to friends and will likely to stay here again if I go to Rome.

Very nice hotel. Easy walk from the station, to sights, restaurants, and parks. The breakfast selection is one of the best I have seen in Roma. I chose the smallest room which was adequate, clean and comfortable. Furnishings and fixtures are all relatively new. This is a family run hotel and everyone was extremely nice. A special thank you to Roberta and Giulia working the front desk. I visit Roma several times a year and this is now my go to place. It is always people that make a moment memorable and all who work here contribute to the experience.

Hotel Maximus is about a 5 minute walk from Termini, the main train and bus station. It is located on a street to the left side of the Opera. The hotel is ideally situated for sightseeing with the Baths of Diocletan less than 5 minutes. The Colosseum and Roman Forum are a 15 minute walk away as is Trevi Fountain or Spanish Steps. Really friendly Staff throughout the Hotel. Alicia on front Reception was amazing and even recommend some lovely local restaurants which didn't disappoint. We stayed in room 316, 3rd floor to front of building. This room has a large balcony which overlooks the side of the Opera. A bonus as you can faintly hear the Opera singers during performance. Our room was quite large with a modern Smart TV, Kettle, Iron and Board . A small silent fridge with water and soft drinks. The bathroom had a large corner entry shower with plenty of power and hot water. Towels were huge and changed daily without asking. Breakfast was buffet style, boiled and scrambled egg, bacon, variety of pastries , fruit salad and cold meats. Plenty of cream and jam filled croissants for any sweet tooth. There is a small lobby area with seating and a separate bar area with additional seating and tables, but not someplace you will spend any great deal of time in. There is a lovely garden area off the lobby with wicker seating and a large gazebo. As a three star hotel this exceeded our expectations and we would happily stay there on our next visit.

Pillows we're a little hard.

We absolutely loved Hotel Maximus! The staff are thoughtful and friendly. The front desk helped us with logistics to and from FCO airport. The entire team went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. The location is awesome! Safe street and within walking distance to all the fine dining and attractions in downtown Rome. The owner was engaged, kind, and very helpful during our 5 night stay! We would choose to stay here again and again!! Hotel Maximus is a 10/10!

Had an incredible 6-day stay at Hotel Maximus over our Christmas vacation in Rome! The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. Special shout to Anna she’s amazing and the Filipino cleaners were also super friendly. Our room felt like a spacious 1-bedroom condo with 2 bathrooms, 1 king bed, and 2 double beds. The facilities were clean and newly renovated. The location was ideal, close to metro station, opera house, and Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica. Highly recommend this gem in the heart of Rome!

Breakfast options can be improved

Breakfast was excellent! A lot of places just have a continental breakfast, but this one had eggs and bacon along with all the other breads, yogurts, fruit, cereals, etc. Also had a machine to fill up my water bottle with fresh spring water.

Had a little trouble adjusting the temperature in the room. My wife wanted it a little warmer, and we couldn't figure it out, but it was fine with me.

Good location , close to subway station and train station. The staff are very friendly. Breakfast was good.

wifi needs to be improved

The room is large and spacious, and the bed is very comfortable. There was also a very pleasant terrace. The bathroom is modern, but the shower cabin is quite small and narrow. All the staff are very kind, especially Giulia and Roberta. The location is very convenient — just a 20-minute walk to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and other major attractions. One day, there was unusually heavy rain in Rome and our room flooded. I imagine this isn’t a common issue at the hotel, and it was resolved quickly.

The soundproofing in the room is really poor. We could constantly hear people shouting, talking, and dragging furniture — it was quite difficult to get any rest.

A lovely “old school” hotel with an exceptional staff. They gave me truly great recommendations for restaurants. As I had a very early train to catch, they packed me breakfast to take with me, which really warmed my heart! A beautiful room with a balcony. It’s in the better part of the area around Roma Termini.

When staying in Rose for longer, I usually don’t book a place this close to the station as that area is still a bit sketchy, especially when traveling as a solo female. However, for a quick one-night-trip with a train to catch in the morning this was perfect!

The room was modern and renovated. Everything was spotlessly cleaned every day. The location was very central and only 5mins away on foot to the subway station and multiple bus stops. The staff were kind and helpful, especially Flavia at the front desk ( i hope i got her name right!) who gave us some great tips regarding places to visit.

Our room didn’t have enough natural light, but definitely not a deal breaker. Breakfast could have had some more variety, but it was still perfectly enough to start off your day.
