Hotel Maximus is about a 5 minute walk from Termini, the main train and bus station. It is located on a street to the left side of the Opera. The hotel is ideally situated for sightseeing with the Baths of Diocletan less than 5 minutes. The Colosseum and Roman Forum are a 15 minute walk away as is Trevi Fountain or Spanish Steps. Really friendly Staff throughout the Hotel. Alicia on front Reception was amazing and even recommend some lovely local restaurants which didn't disappoint. We stayed in room 316, 3rd floor to front of building. This room has a large balcony which overlooks the side of the Opera. A bonus as you can faintly hear the Opera singers during performance. Our room was quite large with a modern Smart TV, Kettle, Iron and Board . A small silent fridge with water and soft drinks. The bathroom had a large corner entry shower with plenty of power and hot water. Towels were huge and changed daily without asking. Breakfast was buffet style, boiled and scrambled egg, bacon, variety of pastries , fruit salad and cold meats. Plenty of cream and jam filled croissants for any sweet tooth. There is a small lobby area with seating and a separate bar area with additional seating and tables, but not someplace you will spend any great deal of time in. There is a lovely garden area off the lobby with wicker seating and a large gazebo. As a three star hotel this exceeded our expectations and we would happily stay there on our next visit.

Pillows we're a little hard.

We absolutely loved Hotel Maximus! The staff are thoughtful and friendly. The front desk helped us with logistics to and from FCO airport. The entire team went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. The location is awesome! Safe street and within walking distance to all the fine dining and attractions in downtown Rome. The owner was engaged, kind, and very helpful during our 5 night stay! We would choose to stay here again and again!! Hotel Maximus is a 10/10!

Had an incredible 6-day stay at Hotel Maximus over our Christmas vacation in Rome! The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. Special shout to Anna she’s amazing and the Filipino cleaners were also super friendly. Our room felt like a spacious 1-bedroom condo with 2 bathrooms, 1 king bed, and 2 double beds. The facilities were clean and newly renovated. The location was ideal, close to metro station, opera house, and Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica. Highly recommend this gem in the heart of Rome!

Breakfast options can be improved

Breakfast was excellent! A lot of places just have a continental breakfast, but this one had eggs and bacon along with all the other breads, yogurts, fruit, cereals, etc. Also had a machine to fill up my water bottle with fresh spring water.

Had a little trouble adjusting the temperature in the room. My wife wanted it a little warmer, and we couldn't figure it out, but it was fine with me.

Good location , close to subway station and train station. The staff are very friendly. Breakfast was good.

wifi needs to be improved

The room was modern and renovated. Everything was spotlessly cleaned every day. The location was very central and only 5mins away on foot to the subway station and multiple bus stops. The staff were kind and helpful, especially Flavia at the front desk ( i hope i got her name right!) who gave us some great tips regarding places to visit.

Our room didn’t have enough natural light, but definitely not a deal breaker. Breakfast could have had some more variety, but it was still perfectly enough to start off your day.

The hotel is in a great location in the city's theatre district. Short walk from the main train station, there's a bus stop around the corner, and you can reach all major attractions with a short walk. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We stayed in a quad family room (one double and two singles) - there was plenty of space for the four of us. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom had an excellent shower. Rooms were serviced daily and the whole hotel felt clean and had clearly been refurbished in the recent past.

The window in our room looked onto a small alleyway, so we kept curtains closed most of the time. As a result, natural light in the room was minimal. The bar area was functional, but not really desirable as a place to stay - we preferred to go back to our room. However, the purpose of the trip was to see Rome, so this was not a major issue.

A reasonably priced boutique hotel centerally located in 10-30 minutes walking distance to number of the main attractions Fontana di Trevi, Santa Maria Basilica and more, also Roma Termini metro. Front desk staff are super nice and helpful to answer questions and direct you to places for visit. Our room was very clean, although shower is small and little water got on the floor. The daily housekeeping service was excellent. First night we experienced no hot water, hotel staff immediately sent up their maintenance team and resolved the issue! Hotel offers free and plentiful hot breakfast with amazing pastries, cold cuts and lots more. You can make sandwiches to take for lunch and they provide the bags.

The bedroom is super comfortable, with nice air conditioning, and there's a mini fridge for your water/groceries. The bathroom is spacious, with a nice shower. Front desk girls are super friendly and always willing to help. I was able to access my room before the check-in time. The breakfast area is large, with many options available. Location is excellent, being just 10 minutes away from Roma Termini by walk. There are many options for food, groceries, and souveniers nearby.

It's not that big of a deal, but I forgot something at the hotel, and the fee to have it shipped back to me (within Europe) was almost 70 euros. The elevator can sometimes take close to 5 minutes to arrive, which led us to take the stairs most of the time.

Very beautiful, clean, comfortable hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful with everything. (they even prepare breakfast for us even though we had to leave at 6 o clock in the morning). The room was very clean and comfy. I 100% recommend this hotel not only for its great service but also for its convenient location.

I think the breakfast would need a little bit of an improvement, for example the fried eggs and bacon are not the greatest. There is a big variety of cakes/pies that I think it's unnecessary. I would prefer a bigger variety of cheese and deli products for my breakfast. Not many options for vegans (I think).
