Great location (5 min walk from Bologna metro, 1 min walk for bus) very quiet area, but felt safe with lots of clean streets etc. Local restaurants and bars only a short walk by the metro Comfortable beds and spacious rooms Very modern looking, not too old or shabby Lots of amenities (eg kettle and tea bags, mini fridge, tv, safe, slippers, little kits in bathroom etc) Breakfast was really lovely (huge selection of sweet stuff eg croissants and tarts, lots of meat cheese and bread, and cereal, fruit and yogurt) Lovely patio Staff lovely and all spoke amazing English which was definitely helpful as I know 0 Italian !

You had to use the keycard to keep the lights on, which was fine except it meant that you couldn’t charge things unless you were in the room - so couldn’t leave phones charging while at breakfast etc. Not the end of the world but a tad annoying! The staff recommended the same restaurant a few times (which was a nice one) but may need a few more suggestions (!) Bar is nice but quite small - to have a drink in the winter you really have to sit where you have breakfast which is ok but a bit cold and unatmospheric. Didn’t want to make too much noise as there were bedrooms oppositethe bar

My flight from the U.S. arrived much earlier than most hotels' arrival times. As I waited for my room to be ready, Christian, at the reception desk, was very cordial and we had interesting discussions that made the time go by quickly. My room was ready long before the posted arrival time. The room was a little smaller than expected but didn't diminish the quality and comfort. Very clean, attractive room which met all my needs. I was surprised the cost was far less than one would expect for such accommodations in a very nice part of Rome. The breakfast was wonderful and I wish I could have stayed longer.

Can't think of a thing ... Everything was wonderful!

My 8-day stay at Hotel Principe Torlonia was an incredibly positive experience. While not the most luxurious hotel in Rome, it delivers on comfort, service, and convenience, greatly exceeding my expectations for the price I paid—truly great value. The hotel’s location was ideal, in a safe, pleasant area with excellent transport links. The bus stop was just a 3-4 minute walk, and the metro station around 10 minutes away. The nearby neighbourhood also enhanced our experience, with convenient amenities like Supermercato Tigre (with friendly staff) and several great restaurants and bars. The front desk staff were a highlight. Pietro, in particular, was outstanding—helpful, attentive, and always ensuring my girlfriend and I had what we needed. His warmth, professionalism, and friendly conversations made a huge difference. I must also commend another team member (whose name I missed), who went above and beyond at check-in, walking me through a map and offering valuable recommendations. The combined efforts of these two were much appreciated and left a lasting positive impression. I seriously admire their outstanding attitude to work. The hotel was well-equipped and comfortable. Our basement room was surprisingly spacious, well-heated, and cosy, with great soundproofing. The WiFi was stable, and daily room service kept things clean and fresh. Breakfast was another plus. The variety exceeded my expectations for this price range, and the extended breakfast hours (until 10 AM weekdays, 11 AM weekends) made it convenient. Though I didn’t have it daily, I appreciated the quality when I did. Overall, Hotel Principe Torlonia offers a delightful 4-star experience at an excellent price. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and great service without overspending. My girlfriend and I would happily stay here again, and the attentive staff truly made this stay memorable.

The TV had some visible lines on the screen, however, it worked well enough for our needs and didn’t detract from the overall comfort of the experience.

We loved this hotel! Such a gorgeous, quiet location, in a leafy setting - outside of the main centre but 10mins walk from the nearest metro (Bologna) and 5mins walk from gelato! Staff were delightful and the breakfast was an added bonus. Rooms were lovely and comfortable - we were tucked down a small hallway behind reception with a secret sliding mirror door :) at $200 NZD a night it was incredible value for money in Rome.

Breakfast was a little basic. We got there before 8am and there was almost nothing left - including cutlery. Staff seemed stressed. All I could get was a bit of dry toast and no coffee was offered. The breakfast experience could definitely be improved.

The room was very comfortable, large bed, nice toiletry pack, dressing gown and slippers, coffee machine and a kettle. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast choice was just right. Coffee from the bar for breakfast was amazing! This hotel is a nice hide-away for people who like to stay not too far from the city centre, but avoid tourist crowds. This simple, quiet but in a way exquisite villa is definitely value for money.

Coffee at the bar is so amazing, so I am not sure why there is this filter coffee/americano in the breakfast hall :)))

staff were amazing, they had friendly and accommodating approach location of the property is great, and I enjoyed how quite it was in the evening

I didn’t like the shower was not draining properly, toilet had some water issue as kept running breakfast first day was disappointment as it was not refilled and even tho we attempt at 8am we had no scrambled eggs, had to ask for toast and coffee was cold. That morning staff was rather busy reorganising tables rather than attempting the bufet to ensure its well stocked up and up to standards

The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect, situated in a very secure area that gave us peace of mind throughout our stay. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly, especially a newer member, Gurdo (or something similar), who joined last Saturday night (24th August). He was amazing and truly caring. If you're staying here, make sure to ask him for his coffee—he makes an exceptional brew! We did encounter some issues with the air conditioning, but the staff was super helpful and addressed the problem immediately. To compensate, they upgraded us to the nicest room available in the hotel, which was a wonderful gesture. Overall, the hospitality of the staff really stood out, making our stay very enjoyable.

Honestly, there was nothing to dislike about our stay. Everything was great, and we just wish we had more time to enjoy it!

The staff in the hotel were wonderful! Every time we had a problem they helped right away and went out of their way to help, especially the staff from the bar! The breakfast was brilliant - the woman remembered our coffee orders every morning and brought them to us the second we sat down. Incredible staff!

The room itself was a bit of a disappointment. The air con didn’t work and we had to sleep with the window wide open which let in airplane sounds and police sirens early in the AM. One of the lamps on the nightstands was completely broken and crooked. Even the cleaning was a bit poorly- the mirror extremely dirty and under the bed was incredibly dusty.

The staff were really nice and couldn't have been more helpful, they really made us feel live vip guests, the location is just the right distance into the city that if you're driving you don't have to deal with the traffic to get to the hotel but not too far out that it's expensive to leave the car at the hotel and get a taxi into the centre.

Our room was nice if a little small, we had a garden room so expected a view of the garden but instead we had a view of a tiled private patio and the high wall separating our room from the garden but really that's my only complaint about our stay everything else was perfect

I liked the room, it was very elegant and had everything needed. The bed was good size and comfortable. Services and cleanliness were impeccable.

The breakfast was good and varied but for some reason, bread was mediocre, which I found surprising for Italy which has such good reputation in bread matters. The hotel also has a little bar, which I found very good, but then the barman could offer just wine and gin tonic. So I think that things could be improved in these two details.
