We really enjoyed our stay. The pool is fantastic, the gardens and relaxation area are really lovely, the room and ensuite were very tastefully decorated and clean, the fridge in the room worked very well, the location was great if you don't mind a little walk to the escalators, which we were fine with. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely come here again next time we are staying in Siena.

If I was to be very fussy, the breakfast was not quite to the same standard as the accommodation and facilities. The fruit salad was very nice, croissants were good, but the orange juice and yogurt were average and not very cold, americano coffee tasted powdered (but I had an excellent doppio the next morning, so this one was probably my fault for ordering the wrong thing). These are very small quibbles and did not detract from my enjoyment of the venue at all, we had a wonderful stay and I am only mentioning them to be helpful.

The location and grounds are lovely, quiet and comfortable. Beautiful gardens and places to sit and picnic. Staff are excellent, all very helpful and friendly. Apartments are comfortable and clean. Great supermarket 5 minutes away.

There are no parasols at the pool area or in the gardens. So nowhere to shade from the sun. This was uncomfortable for children and those that don't want intense sunshine all the time. You had to return to your apartment to get some respite from the sun. You could get small parasols to attach to the sunbed however these were inadequate and did not provide enough shade. The walk up the hill to the villa was very steep and difficult in the heat, especially when carrying shopping. A delivery service would be useful.

Location is fantastic but I would advise it is best to have your own mode of transport as it’s a little outside Siena centro. A short drive to many of the car parks outside of the ZTL. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to welcome us and gave us a garden mat and a stroller umbrella for our toddler which came in so handy for the apartment! Pool is lovely addition to have if you want a break from the Tuscan hills! Great to have somewhere safe to park overnight too on the complex. There is a little bar at reception which is nice for a cold drink or a nightcap. Very quiet at nighttime, we slept so well and the beds were really comfortable.

The bathroom in our apartment was very small. Our knees were sitting the shower door while using the toilet, not the worse complaint but it did take from the comfort of everywhere else in the apartment. I didn’t like that you had to have washed all of the dishes before check out.

Very nice cozy property - re-adapted from a farm-house into a well stocked personalised hotel. Everyone there is extremely kind and very helpful. Excellent recommendations, prompt support for anything - calling a taxi, helping book train / bus, details about any shops/stores in the city, etc. The breakfast is also home-style, pick from the menu, and enjoy getting pampered. The property is gorgeous and is very well maintained. It is near the train station and 30min walk / 5 min taxi ride from the city centre. I stayed here for 5 nights and every evening after returning to the room I found delicious home-baked cake. Overall, a lovely personalised experience that made me feel cared for and well looked after.

Everything from the friendly staff, large spacious room, to the beautiful gardens and fabulous pool. We would recommend trying the delicious breakfast which we had on one of the days. There was a huge Supermarket down the road, which was great for supplies of water etc. Borgo Grondaie felt like a haven looking onto the stunning city.

Leaving! Sienna and the surrounding area have so much to see, and Borgo Grondaie was so nice we could have stayed longer. Just be aware it is a good walk into the city uphill via the train station escalator, which wasn't always on. It wasn't problematic to us but beware if you don't like walking uphill too long. That said, a taxi is only 10-12 Euro one way if you prefer.

Beautiful apartment with stunning gardens and pool. Fireflies in the garden at night time 😁 Everything you need was there including pool towels. Free parking and a great supermarket a few minutes walk away.

The reception staff were sometimes too busy manning the bar and outdoor tables. We waited over 10 minutes one evening to ask a question and in the end we just left. The guy just kept running passed us serving drinks. Also be aware that if you don’t clean the kitchen there’s a €50 fee.

Pool area was great. Lots of loungers and a lovely view of the city walls. Bedrooms were a good size. We are a family of five so third child had to sleep on a fold out bed in the lounge which made that area a bit cramped. Wonderful mid week buffet hosted on site. Great food, lovely hosts and fantastic ambiance. 2 minutes walk to a very large supermarket. Washing facilities with drying racks outside. Short drive to the city walls. Easy access to motorway. Quiet.

Would like to have had a bit of an outdoor area from our room. Think a few rooms have this so ask for those. There was a communal outdoor area and also the pool loungers but something outside the room would have been nice.

I mean, this is a charming, fantastic place to be! What an atmosphere with all the olive trees, the pool, the flowers, the houses around. We were in a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms and a beautiful kitchen area/living room. Very comfortable. Even we had a private garden where a breakfast is fantastic. They have a great selection of wines, so you can enjoy local drinks. There is a big shop 200 meters, so you can buy whatever you want. The city center is 30 mins walk, but also by car you can park at the gates, so no problem at all. The train station is 10 minutes walk, all major cities can be reached from there. We spent 10 days but we definitely would go back any time. Sig. Giovanni Gatto also was very friendly!

Very nice semi rural location in a quiet location. Room was very good overall. Breakfast excellent. Pool very good. Staff excellent.

Location, although quiet, is a quite remote location past a large Co-Op supermarket and up a hill. A long walk mainly uphill to the centre of Siena. The bathroom was minute! The sink was ridiculously small. I’ve seen bigger in a caravan! The pool, although rarely good, lacked shade! No parasols. Limited shade, that was available from overhanging trees was swiftly taken by guests!!

Loved this place. Beautiful pool area to relax & have a quick dip after a long hot day. Staff were wonderful! Helped us carry bags to the room, provided Maps & lots of information on what to see & do in Sienna. Room was large, clean & well equipped.

The location! Too far out for a walk into town & back for dinner! There are km & km of escalators that go up the hill.. from there it was quite a long walk into the walled town. Did not expect a 30+ minute hike into town & home again after dinner.. Great being able to park there but would not recommend if you only have limited time here. We spent more time waking than we did actually enjoying the sights of Sienna.
