The apartment was beautiful, 100% clean and comfortable, offerring us a scenic view on Centro Storico in Siena. The localisation was perfect, nearly everything in the city (including important facilities like parking, train station, main bus station, shops, restaurants) was in the range of not more than 15 minutes of walking. Breakfasts were very tasty and varied. Even more amazing is the fact how the host cared about us, we felt like Niccoló's real guests. Everytime during our stay (even before the check in) we had very good contact with him, he is the best and the nicest host you will ever have. Listen carefully to his reccommendations and you will enjoy the best spots in Siena and taste the real Sienese and Tuscan dishes.

It was located in a fantastic location. Very walkable distance from the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station and to Siena Cathedrals. It was located inside the walls of Siena on a hilltop and the views of historic city from the bedroom and upstairs nook was spectacular. The property is very contemporary with high ceilings, neutral paint, and modern decor. The bathroom was nicely tiled and the shower, toilet, and sink very clean looking and modern looking. The bedroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. I got a good night sleep every night. The host was very kind to us and thoughtful. He was quick to respond to all my questions and concerns. The breakfast was outstanding! It was such a good enjoyable experience staying at his place. I highly recommend it to someone who would like a good night sleep in a fantastic location with an outstanding breakfast.

Breakfast was excellent. It was the best breakfast we had in two weeks of traveling and it was delivered personally to your room. Niccolò was such a great host. He gave us so many recommendations that all turned out to be awesome, especially restaurants. Location was perfect too, no more than a 15 minute walk maximum to anywhere in the city but also on a quiet street. Would definitely stay there again.

If you have trouble with stairs, this might not be the place for you. But then again the entire city would be difficult to navigate if this were the case.

The two nights we stayed at La Barriera di San Lorenzo were lovely. Nicolo welcomed us very well, he gave us several tips about the city, he helped us to book a delicious dinner and he updated us on the attractions open in the city on the days we were in Siena. He made the difference in our experience.The breakfast options to be served in the room were varied and it was all very fresh and tasty. The room is very well equipped and we loved the lodging. The location is great, around 7 minutes walking from city centre. I would love to return to Siena and stay once again in this lovely place.

The check-in process was extremely well-organized, with clear communication and updates provided via WhatsApp. The breakfast was excellent — you order it the day before, and the quality was top. The host also offered great insider information, which really enhanced my stay. The location is perfect: it’s not directly in the city center, but close enough to easily access everything while still being quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay!

2 min walk into the old town, and lovely and quiet. Our host was wonderful - and the level of personal service (sending ideas in where to go, where to take photos, organising a taxi and so on) was by far and away the best service we’ve had on our three trip so far (been to Como, Garda, Verona, Rome and Florence). Oh, and the breakfast! Perfecto; made to order, lashings of fruit, great coffee and your own little mezzanine floor to eat from :)

Niccolò is the ideal host! He made us feel very welcome in Siena. He gave us a city map and information brochure and spent time talking with us after our first breakfast to ensure we had the best experience during our short time in this beautiful town. The room we stayed in is one of several beautifully appointed apartments in an historic mansion. The shower is larger than most, and we found the bed comfortable. Our view from our window out over the rooftops toward the cathedral was glorious. This accommodation is ideally situated for exploring Siena on foot, or going further afield from the nearby bus and train stations. It has every comfort required for a delightful stay. It's quiet, yet also very convenient to Siena's many attractions and excellent restaurants. This was definitely one of the favorite apartments we've stayed in during our time in Italy. The breakfast deserves a special mention. There is a generous breakfast menu. Niccolò catered without hesitation for my gluten allergy. He delivered breakfast to our room and very kindly arranged an early breakfast on the morning of our departure. Not only was our breakfast absolutely delicious but the presentation is a work of art. Thank you Niccolò and family, for a wonderful stay!

We loved our stay! Our only regret is that we were en-route to a wedding and unable to stay for longer. Another time... Thank you again!

The accommodation was impeccably clean, and the host was exceptionally welcoming, kind, and professional. He provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants, wine tasting venues, and weekly farmers' markets. The apartment was well-equipped with both air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and featured a large dining table that comfortably seats four. The bed was comfortable, complemented by spacious closets. Conveniently located near a bus station, it offers easy access to the SF train station. Lastly, the breakfast was truly AMAZING! I wholeheartedly recommend this place and look forward to returning on my next visit.

Very nice 2-etage room with a small "living room" with TV upstairs. Bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. Walking distance to places of interest, still very quiet rooms toward backside of house. About 1km from train station, easy to walk or bus. Piazza Gramschi with bus station (e.g. bus to Rome) is 5min away. Very good breakfast (many choices) delivered to room. Very helpful host helps with directions to hotel, sights and restaurants.

Perfect location, excellent facilities, just a lovely welcoming place to stay. The staff are excellent with communication before arrival and answering questions quickly. Breakfast was one of the best that we have had and we travel extensively so have experienced all sorts of offerings. The only thing they could improve is to provide a corkscrew as we travel with hand luggage only nowadays so cannot bring our own, this in itself is not a criticism but an opportunity to improve an already excellent experience
