This property is absolutely stunning! The views and ambience are unparalleled! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Sabrina and Max, who continued to be so helpful and wonderful throughout our stay. The room was beyond our expectations..and again, views from the balcony were stunning. While this hotel is slightly outside the center of town (shopping, restaurants), it’s an easy walk. We stayed at the hotel several days just to relax and enjoyed the most beautiful private beach club and pool. Have to thank Pietro at the beach and pool! He was amazingly attentive and friendly! Truly a wonderful vacation and we cannot wait to come back here someday!!

The only minor thing would be the food and menus selections at the beach and pool..could be upgraded a little.

We felt very much at home thanks to the friendliness of the staff who we got to know and the intimacy of the hotel. We couldn't imagine staying in Sorrento without access to the sea, so the private beach was a great addition. The pool was equally as comfortable and the bar/restaurant had some stunning views of the coast, volcano, and sunset. The hotel room was spacious, comfortable and quiet.

The 'gym' was very disappointing - it was small with just 3 cardio machines. No dumbbells or proper weights. Limited space on the floor for your own exercises. There is one main restaurant and one snack bar by the beach with a limited selection of options to choose from.

The view at breakfast is incredible and there is a vast range of food options to go through which keeps it varied when you are staying for a week. There are many different areas of the hotel to have food and drinks. We went in September and the pool was never busy and there were lots of sun loungers which was great. The staff are friendly and attentive and reception make bookings for you at restaurants in the town. The room was nicer then I was expecting as we have the basic room.

We had to request an iron everyday, sometimes twice a day. And the irons and ironing boards brought up were not a good standard at all, they ruined parts of two of my dresses as the bottoms of the irons were dirty - this was the main thing I was not impressed with you a 5 star hotel.

The view from the hotel room right above the Gulf of Naples was superb. The location is about 10-15 mins easy walk to the centre. The hotel has a very nice garden and pool area which also offer excellent photo opportunities. The size of the room was generous and the level of cleanliness very appropriate for this type of a hotel. Staff were very attentive and accommodated our request for a slightly later checkout at no cost. Breakfast was superb.

While not something that the hotel is responsible for, but good to know for future guests - while the hotel is within a walking distance to the Sorrento train station, the city's cobbled pedestrian paths don't allow for easy dragging of luggage, so better to use taxi - it costs around 25 euros.

So the view over the Bay of Naples from Vesuvius to Ischia was perfect, even with the rainy weather we experienced that never happens there, and why I took my wife to Sorrento, and she really, really enjoyed the spa treatment. I had an absolutely great dinner in the restaurant. The bed was fine, which is very important to her because of her back injuries. The staff was very gracious, although not particularly flexible.

The room we had is kind of long and narrow, which is not ideal, because they are trying to divide view access into as many slices as possible. Also the little bottles they give you of shampoo and body wash and conditioner are marked with a visible brand label of a fancy brand and labels of what they contain that are so faint I couldn't read the labels at all even though I have had cataract surgery that gives me about 20/25 vision and no difficulty reading anything normal at all. Good grief, why don't people think?

This is a beautiful old hotel overlooking the bay of Naples. We loved the rooms with the large bathrooms and tiled floors. Beds very comfortable and towels could be changed twice a day if needed. The breakfasts were delicious and served in a lovely restaurant. The grounds are magnificent.

Some staff seemed very stiff and unfriendly - esp in the dining area. We stayed at end of season and there were very few guests.

The hotel is very beautiful, with an incredible view of mount Vesuvius. The hotel feels very regal and the staff make you feel special. Breakfast was the best we've ever had! So much choice, the food was delicious, with omelettes prepared fresh, in a gorgeous setting. The sea deck is wonderful and accessing it via a lift from your room that takes you through the cliff is an amazing experience. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are lovely. The location is great. It's just a short walk into the centre but it's relatively flat. The cleaners were great and so friendly. The hotel arranged for a bottle of prosecco and chocolate strawberries to be left in our room for our anniversary, which was such a lovely touch.

The room we had with a hot tub on the balcony was lovely but in my opinion it was overpriced. The room didn't look like the one in the pictures so be aware that there seem to be quite a few of those room types, with varying views and balcony sizes. The room in the picture had two windows/doors with a view of the sea from the bed. Ours had one door and no view of the sea from the bed.

The location was perfect. In the middle of the center and close to all shopping stores. The best thing about the trip was the staff. They are very professional, helpfull, friendly, and they go way beyond thier job to make you feel comfortable. With all honesty, the staff made our trip so perfect

You have to pay extra for beach club. It should be included in your reservation

Most beautiful location and lovely staff. Enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant and breakfast was top class.

Unfortunately two of our three days/nights were marred by private functions. I understand weddings are big business but it meant that some areas of this extremely expensive hotel became off limits to other guests, not to mention having to put up with the extremely loud music. Paying top dollar for great facilities you cannot actually enjoy was not what I had in mind

We had an incredible experience from the moment we stepped in the grand lobby. We were immediately greeted by the friendly & professional staff who instantly made us feel comfortable & pampered. We were directly escorted to our room by the charming Front Desk Attendant who checked us in, while our luggage quickly followed up another elevator. On our way to the elevator, we couldn't help but feel our hearts skip a beat at the breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea through the gorgeous open lobby. Our room was spacious, immaculate & elegant, with an amazing view of the sea. The beautiful hotel grounds, fantastic restaurant & second to none service by the entire staff, in addition to prime location just a short walk from downtown Sorrento, made the Grand Hotel Ambasciatori the new forever destination of our annual trip to Sorrento.
