Very little. There was some minor wear but a comfortable stay. Something generally to be aware of when travelling to the area, few footpaths, buses are available and tickets can be bought on board but if taking a taxi with luggage, fares to the train station were generally fixed at 20€ even though only 6 min trip. Many of the beaches are private so very little public access which made our balcony so valued.

We had a balcony room, and the view was amazing. The sun rose right in front of us. If you're like me and up early, it's something you should experience each day that you're there. Very close to two beautiful beaches as well, and to the cable car to the main street where everything is happening at night. I'm not one to be overly impressed with very pricey hotels as 90% of the time you're out experiencing the town, city, or village you came to. I look for well priced, clean, centrally located accommodations that give us the real feel of the place we are staying in, and this hotel checked all those boxes, and the staff were so kind and friendly. Highly recommend!!!!

I liked the proximity of the hotel to the beach,and also to the shops,restaurants,cafes and bars.i liked that the hotel was so close to the road to look at,and listen to the passing traffic.it was nice and quiet after midnight,though, so it didnt affect my sleep .there was a great view from my window of the sea and the boats passing out there.Also,i stayed in a single room on my first night,but ,as that was booked out for the following night, i had to book a triple room,as it was the only room left in the hotel.it cost considerably more than the single room i had the night before,as you would expect but the lady in charge,very generously gave me the room for only 6 euro more than the single room cost.if ever i'm back in the beautiful taormina again,i'll be booking into the hotel jonic.oh,i almost forgot 2 other great amenities nearby,both to do with communication.the bus stop for train station,mount etna and many more destinations is only 100 metres from the hotel,and just as close ,is a cable car that takes you over to taormina town centre ,with all its activities and great views.the cable car runs all day for 10 euro return,and there are great views during the short journey.

The location was fantastic. The room was clean, comfortable beds. Cute little garden chairs and table. The room was offered to be cleaned during our stay. The AC worked well and was quiet. Reception very helpful. I'm quite surprised with the low ratings of a 7.5/10. Yes the rooms are not modern, but you can see that in the photos they openly share on their website.

The toiletry offerings are quite minimal. Tini bags of shampoo and handwash soap. A little bottle of water in the room would add welcoming touch.

I had a very enjoyable stay in Taormina and would gladly recommend this place to fellow travelers. The location is excellent – right next to the teleferik connecting the beach and the island with the center of the town and convenient for exploring the city’s main attractions, restaurants, and local life. The room was very clean, which I truly appreciated, and the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful throughout my stay.

The room was not luxurious by any means – it had the essentials, but the furnishings and overall atmosphere were very simple and minimal. Although the space was equipped with what you need, there was nothing particularly comfortable or inviting about it. For the price paid, I expected a higher level of comfort or style, but unfortunately, it felt overpriced for what it offered.

Location,location,location 10 metres from beautiful Mazzaro beach, beside the cable car and local bustop Exceeded my expectations as I was a little concerned on reading some previous reviews. Walls paper thin, smallest shower I have ever seen but not an issue, water pressure was excellent. Staff very friendly and accommodating, kept our bags after check out. View from the room was spectacular. Incredible value for money. Excellent choice for our trip.

Update probably needed but might spoil some of the old Italian charm of the building. Bring ear plugs.

This is a great option if, like us, you wanted the 'best of both worlds, as it's steps away from both lovely Mazzaro beach and the cable car up to Taormina itself. The property is quite traditional inside and the rooms are functional rather than plush but, we paid extra for a top floor room with a large terrace overlooking the bay and the views were absolutely amazing, the best we've had anywhere. We were even allowed to take our breakfast (which was excellent with a varied choice) onto our terrace each morning. We also used the terrace for our aperitifs before going into town, which really made our stay first class. The hosts and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were so happy that we chose to stay here rather than up in Taormina itself. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (if you can get one of the 3 rooms with a terrace)

Nothing, everything was excellent!!

The location of the hotel across from the beach and less than a block from the funivia, made our location excellent. We had a balcony facing the bay that was spectacular. Our breakfasts were excellent and fresh every morning. The ladies who took care of the breakfast room were friendly and accomodating. The front end desk were friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

The only issue we had was that we were three ladies with luggage in a small room. Would have been perfect for a couple, but we managed and we loved the hotel on the whole.

We loved staying here! The view from our balcony was amazing and the sunrises were beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful, made great suggestions for a local restaurant which we visited twice during our stay. Super close to the beach and we enjoyed a day at the beach club directly opposite the hotel. Good breakfast with sweet and savoury options. Very close to the cable car to go up to Taormina and also a car park which was very useful. Recommend staying here in Mazzarò over Taormina proper.

Very small, narrow bathroom with a small shower. Beds were a little rickety but still comfortable. Room on the smaller side but with the balcony we had plenty of space. None of these things bothered us but worth noting for others if you prefer more space.

The hotel is located in Mazzaro on the coast above Taormina and for us it was a bonus to able to escape the hoards of people in Taormina. We stayed on the fourth floor in the room with the very large terrace. The view was just stunning, overlooking the beach and Isola Bella, sunrise was spectacular. Comfortable bed and pillows, crisp white bedding, air conditioning, small fridge, en suite. The room is as pictured so it was no surprise that the interior is a little dated. The lady on reception was totally charming and welcoming. Breakfast was buffet style with cereals, croissants, pastries, yoghurt and coffee.

We didn't dislike anything. The interior is a little dated but is as shown in the photos. The view more than makes up for that. On the expensive side but any accommodation in this area is priced at a premium.
