I had a wonderful experience at Terra Rossa in Taormina. The location is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant plants that create a peaceful atmosphere. From the terrace, the view of Isola Bella is simply breathtaking – one of those spots where you could sit and admire the scenery for hours. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the natural beauty of Taormina while feeling immersed in a little garden paradise. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stay with both charm and spectacular views.

Im not a big fan of sleeping only with a thin sheet and would wish the breakfast had a better selection but other than that we had an amazing experience and will come again1

The location is in a very quaint part of town with very very little people or car traffic - this provides a very relaxing environment in and around the pool......... which was excellent. Rooms were sizable and having the kitchen was a benefit as allowed drinks and food to be enjoyed on your own private balcony.

I would have no objection to returning but there are a few things to be mindful of - none of which are to do with the property itself, just a bi-product of the benefits: - Other than breakfast, there is no food at the hotel while there are only drinks available when reception is open. - The nearest shop is either 300 stairs up or 300 stairs down (best one IMO is down - great bakery and fresh meats & cheeses) - Your restaurant options are also either up or down - one option is to walk down for a drink / dinner then take the cable car up (€6) for drinks / dinner and then walk back (~15 mins)

Our apartment ("Room 39") was set away from the main collection of rooms round the pool, so it was very quiet. The apartment itself (2 double rooms, living room, galley kitchen and bathroom) was a little cramped for the 4 of us, but not bad, and certainly very clean and functional. But the main thing - the joy of it - was the large sunny terrace to the side, with its exceptional view over the bay to the mountains beyond. Truly spectacular - made our holiday! (See photo) PS. The pool and main sundeck are as good as they look in the pictures, and the staff are very helpful. Most speak passable to good English. PPS. If you do go, you absolutely MUST take a taxi up to Castelmola, the village even further up than Taormina. We loved it there.

The only thing I would mention is the location: Taormina is a rocky outcrop, with the main town at the top (full of wonderful eateries, shops, and of course, its own Greek theatre) and the beach (not surprisingly) at the bottom. Navigating between these two is not for the fainthearted - it is 253 + 72 steps up from the beach to the hotel, and about the same up again to the town. It's a proper workout! The 18-30 brigade seemed unfazed by it, but for those of us well into middle age, and perhaps not quite as fit as we once were, it was quite a challenge. True, there is a cable car, but it's €6 each way, and with 4 of you that soon adds up. True also, there are taxis - €15 to Porta Messina, €25 to the other side (Porta Catania). So we got by. Just saying.

Lovely hotel. Truly beautiful gardens and pool area. Very spacious rooms, not luxurious but nicely decorated and very well equipped including kitchenette with refrigerator and basic cooking facilities. Great AC. Great WiFi. Lovely staff who speak good English and are friendly and helpful. Set in a quiet area halfway up the hillside between the beach below and the town above. You can reach both via steps… but there’s a lot of them! Fine if you’re fit and enjoy walking.

Would have been nice if the hotel offered the sale of drinks and snacks during the daytime and/or evening.

Everything here was perfect for us. Beautiful views, lovely pool, incredibly helpful staff and villa was beautifully decorated with everything we needed.

We really loved this place and would very happily recommend or come back. Two very minor things to note: 1. As others have said, the location is about a 10 minute walk up from the beach, and about 20 minutes walk down from Taormina centre. We were ok with this and enjoyed the exercise but you will spend a bit on taxis if hills are a problem for you. 2. The kitchenette was well equiped with utensils but didn’t included any tea or coffee.

Giovanni gave us the best recommendations, and every single one was amazing! The location is stunning, and the views are immaculate. The pool area is so welcoming and comfortable, with ample seating areas for all guests... the room is spacious, with a kitchen and living area, as well as a mini patio right outside the room. It has resort vibes and we really loved staying there!

I would have liked for the towels to be changed, at least every other day, especially the bath mat that tended to get soaked every time we showered. Other than that, there's nothing I would have changed!

The view and pool terrace was amazing. The room was clean and comfortable. Being able to buy delicious local wine at reasonable prices as well as beer, coffee, and canned cocktails was a great addition.

The steps down to the beach and cable car were more than expected but very typical for taomina. Thee ceiling fan, in rm 26, was too noisy to have on, with a constant ticking noise, and the air-conditioning had an intermittent buzz that woke you up and continued hours after turning it off this meant the nights were very warm.

Staff were great and friendly with lots of tips, advice and assistance plus able to purchase beer, wine, water and some snacks at the front desk. Rooms are big, nice kitchenette, plenty of room with great views and relaxing pool area.

No TV or screen to connect a device when chilling in the morning or night - European AC limits kept the room a bit warmer than we'd like but that's many places there. It's Taormina so you either stay up top or at the bottom - this is a great place in between but did require extensive walking downhill or uphill to visit the beaches or the old city or take taxis so something to consider.

You cannot beat this view❤️ The apartment with seaview and terrace is spectacular. And yes be prepared to hike/ walk/ climb 350 stairs down to the beach and closest restaurants and up to the city centre and ancient theatre. We loved it and were prepared. Taormina itself is wonderful. In May it was already a bit crowded. I guess high season can be a challenge with crowds and hot weather. Huge advantage is a parking space close to the property. We could not move the car while exploring the city and have some extra fitness all the way which we loved. Wonderful time in this serene location.

The smell in the bathroom from the pipes was intense at times.

This is an absolutely beautiful spot with holiday apartments / villas a short way up the hill from the beach and a short way down the hill from the town of Taormina. From here you have the breeze, a beautiful view over the sea, beaches islands and stunning landscape. The villas and pool are beautiful and extremely comfortable. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. It’s easy to get down to the beach and up to the town from here. I recommend getting a scooter (125cc bike) - the staff can help doing this - and exploring the town and castelmola in the evenings.
