Fall in love with Taormina with your base at Villa Astoria. The view from our bedroom was gorgeous. Access to the beach was very easy with the cable cars (€10 return Taormina - Mazzarò). We reserved parking on the premises which was very convenient. Parking in town is not at all easy, so this was very helpful. Walking to the old town was fast and there are many beautiful stores to visit. Hidden bars and restaurants sprinkled all over town. And of course you can walk past the White Lotus hotel. Maybe you'll spot the ghost of Tanya McQuoid in her Miss Piggy outfit.

Loved my stay here. Being just out of the old town made it a lovely quiet oasis to come home to. Beautiful views. Comfortable room. Nice, happy, helpful staff. Close to the cable car, so easy to go down for a swim, a short, easy walk into the old town. Being directly across the road from the bus station makes it easy to get to other places.

The staff in particular are amazing, everyone we interacted with that worked there were lovely, helpful people. The resident dog, Lucy, in particular made our stay perfect. You can sometimes see her pottering around downstairs. Other than that, a clean, value place that is perfectly situated. Just a short walk up the hill into town. Quiet at night. Remember, you are not booking the Ritz, but a lovely, clean place ran by people who care about the guests. The view from the balcony was amazing and we often stayed in of an evening and sat watching it during our 7 night stay. Couldn’t recommend the place enough. Can’t wait to come back.

Everybody was really kind and helpful. The location is perfect, the Corso Umberto is a 5 minute walk, the bus station is in front of the property and the calbe car is also really close. The breakfast was great, there were eggs, bacon, sausages, different types of pastries, fruits and muesli as well. The cappuchino is really good and we got fresh orange juice every morning. The room is big enough and the bed is comfortable. It was modernized, with newer flooring and furnitures. You cant hear anything from the busy street, but we sometimes heard when others arrived to their rooms next to ours. All in all, its was really good value for our money, we enjoyed our stay. There was a dog, Lucy, the “owner” of the property. Shes beautiful and friendly, she likes playing fetch.

There was a weird smell in out bathroom, especially in the morning

It showed up that the location of Villa Astoria for us was 10 out if 10. Next to bus station, 200m to steps down to beach, 200m to cable car after return from beach. 400m to Gate Messina where main street starts. We had warm welcomed and given lots of info. Breakfast buffet is perfect with hot and cold selections, coffe to tast, freshly pressed orange juice, youghurt, fruit and cakes. Hotel offered transfer service to a near by beach with sun beds and welcome drink for € 16. A great deal. Staff was superfriendly, as also the dog greating us when we was 'at work' Thanks a lot. We will return

The staff/owners could not have been more helpful; pleasant and friendly and prepared to go out of their way to help. The location is right opposite the bus station which is a bonus for airport, excursions, and Mount Etna tours. We had a superior double room which came with a balcony and a fantastic sea view which probably justified the price; the room was clean and well maintained.

Breakfast was OK but a bit limited. The room came with no "extras" such as tea/coffee making facilities, nor added toiletries; it was adequate in size but not of generous proportions. There is no lift (which, of course, we knew when booking).

The view from our room (24) was spectacular. This small hotel is a gem with very helpful staff, a beautiful courtyard that comes with a friendly dog and our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast included the usual pastries plus eggs, yogurts, bacon and fruit. Coffee was delicious and made as ordered. The hotel is across the street from the bus station and well located within Taormina.

Wonderful!! Villa Astoria was fantastic to stay at. It suited exactly what I wanted and needed for my stay in Taormina. The location was perfect as it was outside of the tourist rich centre of Taormina giving some rest from the throngs of other tourists. Plus it was across from the bus station making it ideal for transport and a meeting point for tours. The room was excellent. The view. That view looking over the coastline. So good! I was so pleased with the standard of the breakfast as there were so many options both savoury and sweet. It was excellent and the breakfast dining room overlooked that incredible view. I could not speak more highly of the staff who made my stay so warm and welcome. Don’t hesitate. Book now!

The villa is in a perfect location. Even if it’s your first time in Taormina and you don’t know what to expect, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the place. You can reach the city center from both sides of the villa, and just 300 meters away, there’s a cable car that takes you almost directly to Isola Bella. Parking is available for booking, which is highly recommended in Taormina. The rooms are spacious and equipped with air conditioning. The staff is very helpful and will provide you with a map highlighting all the must-see spots during your stay.

The only area that could be improved is the breakfast, though it was more than sufficient for me and likely for most guests as well.

The staff at this hotel are genuinely the friendliest people you could meet. Marzia replied promptly to all my questions and upon arrival gave us lots of information. The location is perfect, less than 10 minutes to the main street, near to the cable car and the steps that lead down to Isola Bella and the bus station is just over the road. We had a room with a sea view. Remember this is a 2 star hotel so the room will be basic but it had a 5 star view! The hotel does not feel like a 2 star hotel and the breakfast was great. Hot food options and friendly staff. If travelling by car this hotel is a great option as you can book parking. The guy running the parking facility was also very friendly and it was good to know the car was safe. Well worth the 25 Euros per day. Really good experience at this hotel and very good value for money.
