The location is fantastic and the aspect from the canal view room we had was what Venice is all about - the Grand Canal and watching the hustle and bustle without having to be part of the crowds at street level. The room was modest in size but comfortable enough with good winter heating and plenty of hot water in the bathroom. The canal view rooms are accessed by narrow stairs from the 1st floor (once there by lift) and assistance is available with luggage. There was a good variety of food available for breakfast and the staff on duty were attentive. Overall, the staff were welcoming and pleasant to deal with.

The hotel reception is about 60 meters down the alley - ignore the first door “Abbazia de luxe” you see immediately on your left, which is closed. An arrow pointing to the main entrance on that door would help navigation.

we had booked suite with grand canal view. we got a room on first floor which was spacious clean but as was indicated without a tea coffeemaker which would be a great addotion windows open on the grand canal and you can people watch a bit of noise distracts ypu cause property is close to rail station which is its biggest advantage it was slightly challenging to find the entrance but we eventual;;y found it bathrooms were clean bath cubicle was small breakfast was good with nice spread of pastries with outdoor seating as well. we asked for some ice cubes and botttle opener and it came within minutes to our room. very convenient location to reach from train station and the main ferrovia vaporetto station located just outside everything in venice is within a 30 mins walking distance all questions answered quickly on booking a lift is available upto first floor.

room lighting could be better ac can be stronger more room amenities like tea coffeemaker would help overall nothing to be not happy about entrance can be well marked actually it is but still to a newcomer its challenging

The location is excellent - just few steps from the train station and 10 min walk to the bus station to the airport or mainland. All major public transport boats are just in front of the hotel. The room was of a very big size for Venice standards with all amenities provided. The staff were all very nice, multilingual and very accommodating on all our requests and helped with the luggage. Special thanks to Jason who was very kind. The breakfast was fine, very limited choice for people with special diets (lactose free). The cleanliness of the rooms was good and the size of the bathroom was huge. The view is unbeatable and despite windows going out to the bridge in front of the station they had good isolation as we could not hear much noise from outside with the windows closed. We would definitely recommend and return.

Though we stayed only two nights, the breakfast was the same each day. We would also appreciate to have more options for vegan and lactose free.

The location was great, once we found it! The staff were very helpful and nice, we had a canal view which was great and it was interesting to see the goings on outside!!!

It's a shame it doesn't have coffee facilities in the room, so in the morning I had to go across a walkway to the sister hotel to get a hot drink to start my day! Was a little strange to have a bathtub in middle of the room with do doors out curtains for privacy! (I was there with my kids) The hotel was a bit difficult to find as it's down a narrow passageway and not clearly signed from the main street, if they would write a narrow street straight opposite the 1st big bridge I might have found it straight away without calling and walking around to find it!

The breakfast was amazing. The rooms were cozy. The staff was extremely friendly. It's right beside the train station and only one staircase away from piazalle Romano (the best stop) which is the easiest place to get to from the airport. Amazing location. Also only a 30 mins walk away from san marco and the beauty is in the walk. The train station is 20 steps away from the accommodation btw. This is the best location for all foreign travelers. Take note. This location has 2 or 3 rooms with view of the grand canal, I took that and did not regret.

Some of the lights did not function. Would have preferred if I could make the room slightly brighter when I wanted to.

The location was perfect for us just about 200 metres from the train station, and our room had a fantastic view of one of the bridges. Breakfast was amazing, and the staff were excellent really great customer service throughout. Overall, an excellent location with easy access to both train and bus stations.

The room itself was excellent; however, the bed base wasn’t great, as it squeaked and made noise every time we moved.

Absolutely a little gem! Myself and my brother traveled here in Feb. I didn’t have much expectations although it had great reviews. We arrived in the morning and we were greeted by Irene who was absolutely amazing. Our room was ready and we were able to check in early without extra cost. We also were upgraded to a canal city view. Which was Amazing!!! The breakfast is continental nothing special at all which included fruit, yogurt, cakes, cereal, toast, cold meats and pancakes. This did the job for us though. The room was big and spacious and the view really was the main attraction for us. We asked for 2 single beds and they had given us a double however they were able to separate the bed and give us 2 duvets which was muchly appreciated.

Decor wasn’t great in reception. Place could do with a mini makeover or some fresh paint on the walls. However it didn’t upset us. It really was just a place to put our heads down to sleep and did the job.

Location is perfect close to Santa Lucia railway station and ferry transport. View from canal room is enchanting and pretty special. Good restaurants close by. Even though it was a busy area the room was very quiet. The young staff member who helped with luggage up the many stairs is a lovely kid and very helpful and polite .

It was hard to find the entrance initially but once you understood the maze it was easy. There are a lot of stairs to canal view rooms but worth it if you’re able.

We stayed at the B&B side of the property (hotel side is Hotel Abbazia). When we arrived, I asked the lady at the front desk if she could help us get a reservation for that day as it was my son's birthday. Not only did she get a great restaurant, she also told the manager about my son's bday so they prepared a little something and my baby got to blow a candle! As for our room, I thought it would look old and dated based on the pictures but in person it looked really, really elegant. It was also very spacious! Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options to choose from. I highly recommend this hotel!

A fantastic property right on the Grand Canal. The room we had was large (especially by European standards) and more than sufficient for our needs. The front desk staff were amazing and very helpful. The restaurant staff were the opposite - rude and grumpy - but at least the breakfast was a good start to the day. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the train station - this cannot be overemphasised in Venice - walking over all those bridges with suitcases would not be fun!

It wasn't a big thing for us as we were up but there is quite a bit of conversation on the canal outside the window from quite early in the morning as deliveries etc take place. If you wanted a quiet morning this could be a concern.
