The location was extremely convenient if you are taking any water busses. It was only a seven minute walk to the San Marco station, and less than a five minute walk to San Marco Piazza. The breakfast had several options and even our children (7 and 9) were able to fill up before heading out for the day. The beds were comfortable and the room was easily big enough for our family of 4.

The Wi-Fi was non existent in our room (family room 109). Spotty does not even describe it and this made it very frustrating for us when trying to plan our days.

The hotel was what i have come to expect and hope for in Venice over my trips here. From checking in to the hotel, the rooms, breakfast, and the standard of maintenance. From the lady who checked us in to thegent who checked us out, I could not fault their professionalism, curtsey, and helpfulness. Arranging water taxi for our journey to the station and disposal of one of our suitcases that died during our trip. The rooms were clean, fully functional, with excellent features like the local glass lights, tea making, and minibar. The double room was small by international standards, but again, we are in a city that is 1600 years old in a building of 400 years plus. It was everything we needed. The triple room (I now wish we kept that) was huge, had great period decor, and provided everything needed for my extended family. Apologies in advance, as I think more than one of them stole the slippers. The location was one of the best in Venice, close to everything you need. Great place to have as a base. Breakfast was varied, filling, and had plenty available and was never too busy when we would go. I was initially worried when reading some of the reviews that have been posted. This is a great place to stay, and you need to remember that you are in an ancient city area, not the Vanitian hotel in Vegas, where it is clinical.

Some guests could be noisy in the late evening when going to rooms, but again, not a showstopper and not a reflection on the hotel.

- the plastic system on the toilet bowl was loose - dust on the furniture and a long dark hair on my pillow (Although they told me at the reception that cleaning would take a little longer, but for 40 euros the presidential apartment would be ready in 10 minutes) - burnt out or non-functioning light bulbs - the kettle stuck to the tray and no outlet in the area. I had to move the entire tray to the front door to make some tea - which brings me to the next problem: the sockets are unusable because they are recessed into the furniture and none of the chargers I had fit in.

Beautiful property. Rooms are very traditional Venetian as you can see from the photos of the place. The location is superb!!! Right in the heart of all the action. St Marks square is literally a 5 minute walk from the doorstep. The reception staff are fantastic. We had to leave early for our flight and the man very kindly arranged an early breakfast bag that we could take with us. He also sought out all the ferry times and locations so that we made it for our early flight. The buffet breakfast is great. A nice variety of Croissants, cakes, cereals, cooked bacon, scrambled egg and sausages, jams, toast, ham, cheeses, fruit juices and tea/coffee etc. Would absolutely visit again.

This wasn’t an issue. However the hotel is based right next to a canal. The locals tended to start work early 6am each morning delivering goods into the area from the boats. They didn’t seem shy of making a noise so early so we were woken up early each day. This isn’t a fault of the hotel, our room was at the front. So I’m sure a different room would not experience this. The hotel and staff are fantastic

Very nice hotel in an amazing location close to all the attractions...just a couple of minutes walk to San Marco square and the ferry. The room was a good size with a kettle and mini snacks. Breakfast was good with lots of varieties.

The location was confusing on Google maps and Venice roads are like a maize. It took us nearly an hour going around the area and the directions given by the hotel were not helpful. I had to contact the hotel and ask for someone to come to collect us as we were 2 minutes away from the place and it was nearly mid-night. Angelos at the reception came a collected us...really appreciated.

Our family room with view on the inner courtyard has red walls and a giant chandellier made of colourful Murano glass – it took some days to get used to so much colours in the room. The beds are comfortable, there are two fridges and the air conditioning is a strong one – we had to use it carefully not to catch a cold. The staff is (a bit surprising) mostly of Asian origin, being very kind and helpful and speaking fluent English. The continental breakfast is tasty, whatever you choose. Piazza San Marco is at 5 minutes walking distance, just like the Vaporetto station San Marco (Vallasero). Hotel San Moise is a good starting point to discover Venezia.

We were in a "family room", but I haven't realized in advance that this literally means 4 beds in one room = no separate bedroom for the kids... or us). There was a very limited space to put the wet clothes and towels after returning from Lido beach. Only a few available sockets to charge the phones

Excellent location and value for money. The staff at the hotel were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The room was small but as I had not booked a superior room it was to be expected in Venice. There were coffee and tea making facilities in the room which you sometimes do not get in Venice. The bathroom was amazing with a lovely walk in shower and fluffy white towels. The breakfast was plentiful and of good quality to set you up for your day.

The only down side was that you had to walk outside to reach the breakfast room.

Great location, excellent front desk service, and staff were very helpful and polite. We were able to get a water taxi to the hotel and also from right outside the Hotel on the day of our departure. Good buffet breakfast in a lower level of the Hotel allowing one to look out at the Gondolas as they row past a panoramic window. Very pleasant decor, plenty of Murano glass on show and the courtyard was very nice, I can imagine it would be great during the hot summer. Location was excellent, Piazza San Marco is about 4 minutes away on foot, and the hotel is just at the end of the main high-end shopping street.

The bed and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Our stay in March meant there was no air-conditioning available (starts in April), our top floor room was excessively hot (26 degrees at night).
