Antonello, the owner, was outstanding and attentive to service. He even drove us to the train station when we had difficulty getting a cab! Restaurant was OUTSTANDING; a wonderful surprise and provided a top 4 meal over a 17 day trip. Views from room were exquisite! Enjoyed having a sunset bottle of wine and appetizers brought to our room. Enjoyed the pool — loved the “old school” feel.

Only “issue” — and I’m stretching to say that, is we weren’t aware of how far the hotel was from town — once you’re up on the hill, you’re there to stay unless you have transportation. (Frankly that’s what I loved about the place!)

Great location with fantastic views. We stayed in a two bedroom suite with terrace, small garden and superb view. The stairs down were a bit tricky especially for clients with mobility issues. The rooms were spacious with basic furnishings and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was spacious with large walk-in shower which needed some adjustment to prevent leakage onto the floor. The rooms are quite dated and if neighbouring rooms were occupied limited privacy on the terrace but it was not an issue for us. We enjoyed a good dinner which was quite pricey but overall worth the money. Service throughout was exceptional. The outside area and pool terraces were great we had breakfast on the terrace enjoying the far reaching views.

The rooms are a bit dated and could do with a makeover and upgrade to match the rates being charged. Lighting was poor and there were signs of unfinished work on the front door. The hotel is full of character so one must accept that some antiques are a little over done by today's standards.

The team was very welcome and accommodating. We were serve lunch after 2 pm , it was great for us as to rest after busy holiday. I used swimming pool and towels were provided by hotel. The drinks are available while you are resting by the pool , the hotel provides free of charge nibbles like peanuts etc , the hotel had a lot of charm and wonderful tarace with breaking taking views where we had a dinner . It is good place where you want to relax with good book but good for family with children as there is swimming pool which i mentioned before. We had a dinner which we enjoyed a lot. There is a big garden around the hotel where you can have a nice stroll or sit on one of sitting area. We were completely switch off there and left relax before long drive. Highly recommended

Can’t think of anything

An older hotel in a picturesque location with rooms that have updated facilities. We booked a room with a balcony and were delighted to find the view exceeded our expectations. The staff were all very helpful and nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had a really enjoyed stay. Having breakfast on the large terrace overlooking the water was delightful. Free car parking is another benefit along with being sent detailed information on how to find the hotel. The alternative route from Ventimiglia is narrow, steep and very windy!

Beautiful hotel with a long history. Our room had stunning views of the sea from different angles. The restaurant is very good, the best food we've had on our trip. The staff is friendly and helpful. The swimming pool area is very nice. Breakfast is excellent and the gentleman who made coffees was extremely kind. We really liked the whole atmosphere. Some might find the decor a bit dated but we thought it fitted the aesthetic.

The location is wonderful. Views are sensational. So beautiful. The pool was great, the kids loved it. Great for swimming and diving. A traditional hotel with old fashioned wonderful service and panoramic views that blew my mind. The icing on the cake is the restaurant, food and service was first class. Honestly, I’d 100% return.

Loved it all!

Very beautiful, classic and authentic villa in the mountain (300 m) of Ventimiglia Alta. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast (homemade) and gastronomic restaurant with panoramic view over Cote d’Azur (incl Monaco). The pool is large (and clean), with sufficient towels, beds and parasols. It is a great place for relaxing and enjoying the Italian Summer life.

Old rooms and beds , property needs a major overhaul and the road to get up there is absolutely dangerous and horrific

It is a perfect example of traditional Italian service and design. Some of the building has decor from the past 50 years. Our room was perfect with stunning views.

The breakfast could be improved.

The staff was wonderful, our room which overlooked the Ligurian Sea was great, the view was unbelievable and the food was fantastic.

it is a narrow winding road to get there so take the 5km road not the shorter one. Otherwise there is nothing to dislike about La Riserva.
