Staff: Helpful and smiling. MEALS: Breakfast: Absolutely wonderful, with many healthy choices and a variety of breads (important for me). Dinner: Lots of healthy salads, plus hot and cold choices, everything was delicious (including the bread). More variety than we expected. Totally at a loss to comprehend why some reviews we read were negative. So unfair! If you are still debating, hurry up and book before it's too late! The property is unique and intriguing, many famous people stayed there, no wonder. Don't miss asking for a key to walk up to the tower, it will provide you with a wonderful overview of the city. Transportation: Bus stop just a few steps away, so convenient! Bergen is beautiful, just be prepared and pack your raingear. Don't miss to ride up to the mountain (within walking distance). Amazing views and great hikes. Highly recommend the Back Stube (close to the Fish Market) for delicious baked goods, which we took along for our trip back home, we loved their Pretzels!

The food was wonderful! So delicious, varied and fresh tasting! Perhaps the very best part was the availability of coffee (specialty!) any time day or night. Alejandro and African woman whose name I did not get were fantastic cooks and a bright spot every morning and evening. The light buffet in the evening was so helpful after a busy day. The soups were delicious (all six that I tried!), e fresh root veggies were all nutritious. That is a welcome commodity when food on trips is often not fresh and not healthful. thank you! The desk staff were also most helpful , not only with my business needs but also with advice about various local sites. I really loved my time here ( my second stay with you and likely not my last) The common spaces are so comfortable and welcoming: Several nooks to work and read ….. again, with a complimentary coffee. Because you are just closing for renovation today, I will mention two things that need attention—at least in room 408. The lighting was very poor—not enough and FAR too dim. Also there was too little storage space. It would be helpful to have drawers and significantly more storage space in the bathroom.

Excellent value for money, having the half board was amazing as dining out all the time in Bergen would be very expensive. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. There were a lot of food options at breakfast and dinner with something for all dietary requirements. We used the gym area which was helpful to have, there is a sauna & steam room as well but we didn’t use those. The location is superb, right on the main harbour and I’m sure that during the warmer months the view from the tower would be amazing.

Our double room was two single beds pushed together with separate mattresses and duvets, so it felt like my partner and I were sleeping in separate beds because of the dip in the middle of the bed. The rooms could do with some updating but that might be part of the renovations at the moment.

Perfect location - in the centre of Bryggen, right next to airport express bus stop, opposite one of the day cruise pick up/ drop-off points, about a 5 min walk to both the funicular station and the fish market. Breakfast spread is fantastic.

The ‘gym’ is the most absurd set up I’ve ever seen in a hotel - there’s random equipment/weights in a ridiculously dark space (I had to use my phone’s flashlight to see the DB weights); DBs looked rusty and the weight selection was inadequate. No space in shower to place personal items (eg facial cleansers) and shower doors don’t fully seal so water goes everywhere.

Amazing location between the fortress and the UNESCO heritage old wooden town. Our room had nice views over the fishing harbour. Our room had a desk chair but two extra comfortable chairs which we thought was good. We also had proper glasses in the bathroom ( not plastic cups ) as well as two wine glasses. The buffet dinner was excellent and the choice of food at breakfast was incredible. The hotel also puts on coffee and cake after 3.00 pm. We also had two beautiful sunny days which was a bonus as Bergen has a reputation for rain and bad weath

The staff were very helpful, the included breakfasts and dinners were amazing. The free on tap coffee and hot chocolate machines were fantastic. Rooms comfortable and had everything we needed. Shower hot and great pressure. Easy walk to harbour, shops, cafes, restaurants. The walk to central station was probably 20mins in the snow and was a little adventurous. If the hotel clock tower is open well worth a visit the view is spectacular and free. Renovation work is happening at the moment but didn’t bother us at all, never heard any noise, just saw polite trades people in the building

The breakfast is one of the best in Europe. Smoothies and little chai pots, pancakes, real porridge cooked to perfection, as well as hot options to suit all tastes. The dinner was included and is a buffet style served between 6-8pm. The options are amazing and includes a soup starter and a couple of mains, such as fish pie and there are a number of side dishes which include lentils, baked potatoes and salads. There is bread and fermented foods. It is all you can eat so you can eat till you are full. The room was very quiet and cosy. As I was busy in the day, I only used the room to sleep. It is all very clean. Location - next door to supermarket and close to restaurants and the water. You can walk to the town centre very easily.

Room was comfortable, breakfast and evening meal (included) were simple but good standard. Location good for harbour walks and access to all facilities including cable car up mountain. Also good for direct access to airport by Flybussen which stops just across the road.

Constant issues with electronic door lock to our room. Seemingly staff were unable to properly resolve whilst we were there. We were offered another room, but we did not consider it was worth moving our belongings for our short two night stay.

Really beautiful setting for a very special anniversary and birthday trip! The staff made it so special and the food especially was incredible- we were amazed at the amount of complimentary food provided to guests and the quality of the meals on offer was really high. The bar and dining areas really achieved the cosy hygge feeling! The room was beautiful and housekeeping were perfect. The sauna is such a great addition and was quiet and spotlessly clean. The staff were exceptional- attentive, friendly but not intrusive and nothing felt like it was any trouble at all.

Absolutely nothing!

Room had comfortable seating area as well as twin beds, the large windows opened to give plenty of air. Breakfast was a standard hotel buffet. Dinner was included, it was a nice selection of salad but the veggie choice apart from salad was soup which was disappointing as the meat lasagne looked very nice. We didn't expect to have coffee and pancakes in the.atternoon which was a.nice.surprise.

Glass door to the bathroom, it was see through but made the room very light when someone was in the bathroom.
