We stayed at Thon Bristol for 6 nights recently. The location was very central and convenient to walk to most of the things we wanted to see and do. The rooms were small by U.S. standards but were very functional and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the shower had good water pressure and nice hot water. The breakfast was delicious with a very good assortment of breakfast items to choose from. We especially enjoyed sitting on the terrace to enjoy our breakfast. The breakfast staff were also very friendly. I will say that our room overlooked the square area and it was a bit noisy during the weekend nights - if that is an issue for you. Overall, a great choice for a family trip to Bergen.

Breakfast - I can see why the hotel has won awards. There was a cook in a kitchen area in a corner of the breakfast room refilling dishes and I think could handle requests (I was happy with what was there). Location - very close to historic Bryggen waterfront & tram to the airport (in a different direction). We arrived by train and walked from the station. Small fridge to store a litre of milk for making tea and coffee - its nice sometimes not to have to go to a cafe. The base for the jug is on a platform that slides out.

The hotel was 2 buildings joined together so we came out of the lift went down a hall, turned, went up a step then back down the other side of the wall to get to our room. Other rooms would have had more direct access. In other words there is a variety of rooms so the photos may not match your room. Sometimes it was hard to get the door to lock when we went out. I put 'no' about getting a quiet room but it was only noisy on the Friday afternoon when builders were working nearby and some of the nights when bottles were being moved (but not too late).

room size was fabulous, plenty of outlets--USB and electrical; Room and hallways were very colorful; Breakfast was excellent with choices for everyone; breakfast hours were great--allowing for early transportation connections; Train to the airport is a block away from the hotel; all attractions were right outside our hotel door; restaurants plentiful; You can get coffee/ tea and beer in reception;

The adjacent restaurant was crowded and busy---tried to eat there but found it so busy we could not get a server; We would not recommend. View from our room was a courtyard with trash cans and balconies of apartments; It was not scenic and we experienced noise when garbage was being collected;

The room was very quiet and comfortable, the shower was comfortable and did not leak all over the floor. The cleaning staff were very vigilant and even replaced the tissues in the bathroom and topped up the coffee sachets. This is very unusual in my experience of hotels so very positive when it happens. The breakfast was diverse and very good quality. The desk staff were all very welcoming and helpful.

The only minor annoyance is that the coffee machine in the bedroom does not work as it leaks water everywhere. It was not a problem as there was a kettle provided with coffee sachets anyway.

location location location! great breakfast, big rooms ! staff were excellent and very kind . EDIT: the airline had lost my moms luggage for 5 days and last i heard, the airline would ship it back home if it was found. 30 minutes before my ship was about to sail (i was already onboard) and hours after i had checked out of the hotel, the staff at the front desk called and said it had just been delivered. they very nicely convinced the taxi driver to rush it to the pier and i ran off the ship and paid the taxi driver and got our luggage . I so appreciated them calling me to find out what to do with it! That was fantastic service. thank you again

not a fan of the color scheme in hallways … it’s off putting. hotel is priced a little high but it’s norway . no deal breakers!

The Breakfast was the best , I give it 10/10. The breakfast staff were brilliant. Everything was replenished, cleaned up, very efficient and friendly. Well done! Reception staff very friendly and efficient. room service spot on, every day room tidied and clean towels etc. Free tea and coffee in reception and if you want milk rather than creamer ask reception, they keep it in the fridge there. Egon restaurant is lovely, again staff very good, a lovely restaurant to eat, would recommend booking there for your first evening as you only have to walk through reception. Great location and close to light rail. We took the light rail ( bought ticket at the station) from the airport and it is very clean and took about 50 minutes, the last stop.

Nothing, no complaints, would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Nice, modern room. There was always coffee available in the lobby. Staff was friendly, and they arranged for a to-go breakfast for us since we had a very early departure to catch a train. Also, the connecting restaurant food was good, reasonably priced, and a nice atmosphere. This hotel is close to the train station and tram from the airport. Convenient to everything.

During our stay, sreet noise was excessive due to student celebrations, but it may still be a bit noisy during regular times.

The hotel is located right in the heart of the city, most museums and the Bryggen quarter are just a ten minute walk away. It is also conveniently located to transport options: the tram from the airport terminates five minutes away, the terminal for the coastal shipping route is a 10-15 minute walk. The rooms and hallways are solid Thon standard with bright colours. Nothing fancy in the room, really quiet at night. The breakfast buffet offers many options. Friendly staff.

Great room, beautifully decorated, with everything you would expect to see in a hotel of this standard. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing—so much choice! Location wise it is just a short walk from the Bryggen but in a slightly less busy position.

It would have been good to have onsite parking, but I appreciate this is hard to find in any city centre hotel, so it wasn't really an issue. There is a carpark across and up the road, so easy enough. The one blemish (and it had nothing to do with the hotel) is that someone in one of what looked like an apartment block joined to the hotel decided to crank up his music to insane levels at 11.30 pm. Fortunately it didn't last long - imagine his neighbours stopped him!

The room was fairly spacious, clean and quiet. We had a Nespresso machine in the room which was topped up daily. The location was excellent and the facilities were good. Breakfast had so much to offer and was very tasty. The staff in reception and in the breakfast room were all very happy and helpful. We are going to stay here again in a couple of weeks because it is so good and cheaper than other similar hotels in Bergen.

Uht milks for the coffee machine in the room would be much better than powdered creamer.
