The location was good . The room has a great view of the beach and sea .

Well I thought that the room could have been more welcoming. There were no biscuits in the tea/ coffee room tray . In fact it was pretty sparse on that department overall. The complementary toiletries were also pretty basic although the bathroom itself was very clean and spacious. The hotel says it's pet friendly but at meal times you are isolated into the bar area of the hotel with no contact with the staff barring a telephone at the bar . Other hotels we have stayed at even in the same hotel chain offer you a separate space within the dining area .

the staff were very helpful and smiled when we saw them ,the room was so very clean ,and the bed was so big was lovely and comfy ,we had a fan in room and when we stayed it was so hot was a blessing ,the swimming pool was a bonus they even gave you towels ,and was nice and clean ,the view was so nice and was so lucky to see a red moon when we stayed ,the lift was good and fast ,the hotel was really clean ,and would stay again , just more tea bags only 2 and milks ,but if you ask they will give you some ,the shower was really good and the door came off ,but they sent some one to mend it quicly ,and same they brough the iron and ironing board up quickly one good stay and very quite hotel xx

We stay here quite often. The pool is nice and warm and not usually busy. The buffet breakfast has a good selection. Staff are always very helpful.

Room was very cold but that was easily sorted as the lovely lady at reception gave us an extra duvet. My only issue (if I am being picky!) is that they never leave enough teabags and sugar in the rooms. Only 2 teabags on arrival. You can get more from reception, but why not just leave more in the room to begin with, or do what another hotel does and leave teabags, sugar and coffee out on a table at reception, so you can just grab some when you need to. Only other issue is that on this occasion many of the breakfast items had run out and I had to keep asking for what I wanted. Ideally someone should be checking what items are due to run out and ensuring they are replenished accordingly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was small but cosy and we loved the sea view. The bathroom bigger than expected. We loved the pool. It was heated and very often we were the only people present. Suitable for children as is not too deep. Our dog was welcomed with a bed and a bowl. The best feature is the location, you can sit at the window and watch the sea, listen to it and just enjoy. If you want to go on the beach, all you have to do is to cross the street, very close.

Every staff member I met was great, polite and attentive, the central sea front location was fantastic.Our room was perfect for our 1 night stay and the price for the stay would have been spot on, if the hotel was given a little bit of TLC.

Other guests were having a fight in their room and on the landing at 03:30 this morning. The hotel is in need of a refurb, The carpet on stairs up from reception, is worn down, stains on the carpet in the room

The room was a good size. The facilities in the room were fair, though very light on Tea/Coffee and no bottled water or additions. Very few electric sockets in the room. The wall heater looked old but it was capable of warming the room quickly, Clearly the room had been improved with fairly new, if basic furnishing. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was also good, with hot water and no waiting for hot water. The location was very good though on street parking nearby was not easy apart from the first night. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly, both on the front desk and in the breakfast room. (we didn't have dinner: being regular travellers to Eastbourne, we like certain eateries).

Parking could have been better. Parts of the hotel felt tired, with shabby carpets on some stairs.

Staff were very friendly, the bedroom was bright which was important for my husband. The bed was firm with lovely new firm full pillows and had nice fixtures.. Loved the swimming pool, most of the time l had it to myself.. I would book this hotel again,all in all a great break.

Have stayed in Eastbourne many times on the sea front over the years,it has always been near the Pier. Found it a bit of a hike to the shops.,there is a very good bus service (no 99) which stopes outside the hotel on the way back. We chose this hotel as it had a pool. It does have quite a lot of guest with dogs,,though they are well behaved .

We had a Studio room, very spacious, particularly valued the kitchenette which was well equipped. Also enjoyed the hotel pool and drinks on the front verandah.

Hotel does not allow wheelchairs to be taken to upstairs rooms. As my wife can walk to some extent this was OK but we never understood the need for the rule. Believe they do have some ground floor accessible rooms. Also wheelchair was quite safe being left in reception.

The location is excellent, on the seafront, my room was spacious with a sea view. Bedding towels, bathroom products and tea and coffee facilities all very good. Good bed linen, flat screen tv. The food was very good indeed, service was swift and personable and the food excellent. The breakfast was a buffet style and the food hot and well presented. Overall a very good stay in an old style hotel with very good staff.

The hotel comes under the 'shabby chic' category as it is very old as can be seen by the architecture and old window frames. However it was comfortable and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Minor really- The indoor swimming pool has a flight of stairs that we had to use and my wife and I have trouble with stairs. There is a lift to the basement floor(-1) but the passageway from the lift to the swimming pool is reserved for 'staff only', clearly because of all the laundry stuff etc.. It would have been good not to have used the stairs!!
