Location and the comuns spaces are awesome, they have 4 washing and drawing machines, it a super plus. You get drinks if you opt out of room cleaning. The staff is really nice! Minana great recommendation!

To make it a 10 they need to insulate better the room doors you hear a lot the other guests getting out of their rooms.

We have a great staying experience in TUNE STAY KYOTO. The room is tidy and clean, the bed is sooooo comfortable, and the bathroom is clean with a separate shower and toilet. The location is very close to Kyoto station, around 5 mins. Therefore, it is very convenient to visit any place in Kyoto or even visit 宇治 or 奈良。 They even have a cozy library, where you can chill and relax, and a self-serve kitchen where you can cook or enjoy a simple breakfast with a cup of tea or coffee. As a foreigner who cannot speak Japanese, the staff at the counter of TUNE STAY KYOTO really save our life. They speak good English, so there are no worries about communication or asking any questions if any. Thus, we had a good experience starting from checking in till checking out of the hotel.

The hotel was very pretty and it was cool that there were movie showings every night! There’s also a gin bar and it’s a ten minute walk from Kyoto station which is nice if your coming from Tokyo to Kyoto!

It was far from the nightlife. There was a ton of restaurants that were opened late by the hotel some were even opened when I was walking past the bars. You could Uber back to the hotel when there are no more trains or buses left. I just opted to walk and it was nice! I felt very safe and there were people leaving restaurants when I got closer to my hotel. I just needed a more younger crowd at the bars and it was easier to talk to people as a solo traveler.

What not to love in this hotel, everything was great! If you want a stylish yet affordable hotel in Kyoto don't look further. The amenities are great, a spacious kitchen where you can cook or just eat takeout, a bar with delicious cocktails, they show short movies throughout the day in a super cool setting, they have countless books about Japan that you can borrow, and so much more.. The room was very well designed, we felt it was spacious for a hotel room in Japan and were able to store our luggage easily. The location is perfect, it's right in the centre of Kyoto and you're surrounded by delicious restaurants. The staff was so lovely and thoughtful, I couldn't recommend it enought!

Great location, close to train station. The style is modern, and staff’s English was quite fluent, good for people from Western countries especially first time. (And I do notice a high proportion of Westerners.) Kitchen is self service, good for bringing food from outside. Laundry is equipped with 4 washers and driers, it was almost essential to have it to travel light, especially in the summer. We had a bunk bed the room was small but it’s enough for smaller size individuals and the price matched it. As everywhere else in Japan the toilet comes with the bidet and shower is very clean.

Basically no. Probably there were certain periods like in the afternoon there was no hot water for showering. But probably that’s common for Japan.

This hotel is super cool! It’s just a few minutes from Kyoto station, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. They showed us around and told us all about the cool amenities in the building, like a shared kitchen, a rentable bath, laundry service, a library, movies, and a bar. The room had plenty of space to store our bags and luggage. It was much better than other hotels in Japan, specially Tokyo, our room was properly thought. There’s a Don Quijote store a few minutes away, and there are also some great coffee shops nearby. You can grab a coffee and a bite to eat before you start your day in Kyoto. I highly recommend this location. Not only are the amenities great, but it’s also in a great spot to do day trips to Nara, Osaka, Kobe, and other places.

The air conditioner is installed but not functioning independently in each room, which causes the temperature to rise. We stayed during spring, and sometimes it got a bit warm during the night. I’m not sure how it will be in summer.

I absolutely loved my stay at Tune Stay Kyoto, it was one of the best places I stayed in on my trip to Japan. It is an absolute gem of a place for solo travellers as you can meet other people, interact with the staff and enjoy the movies and gin bar! The room is comfortable, clean and has all the amenities required for a nice stay. You can access the kitchen, laundry room and library at any time. The location is great, you can walk to many of the sights in Kyoto and Kyoto main station is a 7 minute walk away. There are many restaurants, shops and Gion district are all close by. I loved spending my evenings watching the movie screenings and sipping on all the different gins. I can't wait to visit Kyoto again and stay here.

Our family of four had two separate rooms with bunk beds. I slept better here than anywhere else in our 3-week trip. The beds are really comfy. The location was great; a decent walk to the station. What really made Tune Stay pleasant was how easy going the hotel itself is with its policies. Need more towels? They're on a shelf as you come to the elevators. Need a place to sit and eat or to warm up some food? The basement has a huge open kitchen area with seating. Need to do laundry? Reasonably priced and high-powered laundry facilities are also in the basement. Just want to hang out with your group and rest for a while? There's a huge book store with comfortable seating. Thirsty? A quick cup of iced water is available all day near reception and water to refill your bottles is available in the basement kitchen.

We liked everything.

The entrance is beautiful and the library is just as beautiful as it is in the photos...I'd say better because you do get to use the ladder and have fun browsing the collection. Staff is accommodating and the location is great..just a short walk from Kyoto Station! I didn't carve out the time to book the private bath and I actually don't know what it looks like but it's something I'd definitely do after 15k steps walking around beautiful Kyoto.

Be mindful of the limited space to lay out your luggage. The bathroom sink is in the room-it was no issue for me but thought I'd mention it! You're in Japan...adapt and enjoy, you'll love it here.

Comfortable and secure location just a few blocks from Kyoto Station. This was my second stay at this location. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. I love the ability to go out and eat in the city, or bring ingredients back and cook in the well supplied basement kitchen and common dining area. I stayed in a double size bed room with tv, desk, plenty of storage and hanging space, in suite sink, toilet, and generous shower facilities.

If you like to have temperature control over your room, this stay only has central heating which means you're controlling how hot or cool your room is by opening the window and/or adding or removing your duvet.
